Big F'N Swigg - March 29, 2006 03:15 PM (GMT)
I marked out for the Samoa Joe/Sabu segment. I knew it was coming and I still marked out.
And DK, you forgot Christian vs. Abyss for the NWA Title.

Scrooge, I gots your hookup.
jamiegeist - March 29, 2006 03:27 PM (GMT)
Isn't AMW-3D expected or announced?
Big F'N Swigg - March 29, 2006 03:28 PM (GMT)
That seems to be it, especially after last weeks interference
Scrooge McSuck - March 29, 2006 03:35 PM (GMT)
Stop tempting me! Christian vs. Abyss sounds like another match I'd cream my pants over. :)
dynamite kido - April 18, 2006 11:07 PM (GMT)
By the way, I gots all your hookups. PM me if you wanna see the show and aren't ordering on PPV.
jamiegeist - April 18, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
I wanna see it live, and I might not order it. I'm guessing you can't help me with that.

Mad Dog - April 21, 2006 07:19 PM (GMT)
I like the promos they've been doing. They're actually trying to bring the danger back into the cage match.
jamiegeist - April 22, 2006 02:35 AM (GMT)
As I look at this final card, it is just fuckin stacked and had a potential to just be incredible.
I would order in a heartbeat........
If every match weren't in a fuckin cage. Dammit.

Scrooge McSuck - April 22, 2006 02:46 AM (GMT)
How much you want to bet the big mystery opponent for Daniels will be Sean fucking Waltman again?
Abyss/Christian looks good, and is probably the only real "money in the bank" match of the card.
The Sting vs. Jarrett Teams will suck. 8 men in 1 cage just doesn't work. I guess I'll say the same thing for the X-Cup 8-Man. 8 men confined in 1 ring is just asking for trouble, no matter how much talent you have.
Joe/Sabu will suck considering Sabu is gonna wrestle with a broken arm. It shouldn't be anything close to a surprise who's winning here, even if Sabu were healthy enough.
Canada/Dudleys again? Okay...
X-Division X-Scape will be a giant clusterfuck with 6 men going wild inside 1 ring. Again, who's idea was it to book so many cage matches with so many people to follow in each?
Take out the fucking stupid Steel Cage stipulations, and yes, you do have an awesome card. But cage matches tend to be disapointments, and when an entire card is booked in them, with half of the matches featuring 4-8 men each, you're asking for trouble.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 22, 2006 06:16 PM (GMT)
dynamite kido - April 22, 2006 06:22 PM (GMT)
I know it misses the point with the cage matches, but honestly I like the card. I'm basically looking forward to almost every match.
Scrooge, your bias is insane. Get off your high horse and go watch fucking wrestlecrap.
Scrooge McSuck - April 22, 2006 06:50 PM (GMT)
No thanks, I just said I have no interest in a PPV booked entirely with cage matches.
SamoaRowe - April 22, 2006 07:00 PM (GMT)
I really liked last year's Lockdown (with the obvious exception being Chris Candido's injury), so I have high hopes for this year's event. The thing about last year's event that I really liked was that even though each match was in the cage, they managed to make each match feel different (some had tables, blind folds, etc).
Scrooge McSuck - April 22, 2006 07:08 PM (GMT)
Why book a cage match and use Tables? Isn't the cage enough of a gimmick? Why not throw in some ladders and thumbtacks too?

It was Raven vs Jeff Hardy in a tables match inside the cage, and it actually worked out pretty well. They used the cage to provide some nice bump spots. My favorite part was when Hardy took a sick bump off the top of the cage and these girls in the audience are bawling their eyes out.
Scrooge McSuck - April 22, 2006 07:42 PM (GMT)
That does sound awesome, but it's still over-gimmicked. I'd say the same thing if WWE did it. Everyone bitched about WCW When Vince Russo combined 7 gimmicks in 1 match at times.

Yeah, because it'll be much worse than anything else that's already on PPV right?
jamiegeist - April 22, 2006 08:27 PM (GMT)
I understand we're both of you are coming from. The show will be fuckin good, but the thought of all cage matches really does turn me off from it. Not really because I'm worried about the clusterfuck like Scrooge, but because I would just be tired of watching the show through a frickin cage for that long.
It is just gimmick overkill. Honestly, if it was just a normal show, with maybe Abyss-Christian in the cage, I'd be ordering. As it stand, I don't think I will.
dynamite kido - April 22, 2006 10:02 PM (GMT)
Honestly I thought the same exact way both of you thought about it...........last year. But it was a solid show last year and I'm saying it looks to the be the same this year. I'll be watching it Sunday either way.
The Last Free Voice - April 24, 2006 12:40 AM (GMT)
LOW KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!
Fuck, he has a new name. Oh well. SHEN CHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! Or whatever the hellthey kept calling him.
I'm liking the show so far. The X-Cup match was nice, although apparenlty the rosters floating around a few months ago are kinda sorta totally wrong. Daniels vs. Ki number 10000000 was still pretty awesome, and I hope they run a "Ki dominates the X-Division" angle, leading up to him vs. Joe.
Arm Wrestling now. Meh.
Real F'n Show - April 24, 2006 01:16 AM (GMT)
Why the hell did they change his name? And is it gangsta Ki or respect and honor Ki? Either way, this is a pleasant surprise...
The Last Free Voice - April 24, 2006 01:28 AM (GMT)
They said it was Japanese for "Warrior" or some such, so if anything I bet it was his choice. And he cheated to win, but wasn't in his gangsta attire, so it seems to be XXX Ki, almost.
Real F'n Show - April 24, 2006 01:29 AM (GMT)
Cheated to win? So he's a heel? I was hoping for a doublestomp from the cage...
Scrooge McSuck - April 24, 2006 01:32 AM (GMT)
Low Ki is back?
... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
Wait, is Low Ki as good as he was during his 2002 TNA run?
The Last Free Voice - April 24, 2006 01:33 AM (GMT)
He used his feet on the ropes. The Cage didn't really play into it at all, to be honest. Lots of Rib Work by Ki, kind of like their Tag Wars 06 Match in ROH. (I was there live. Good stuff) But yeah, he seems to be a heel.

He's WAAAY better as a heel IMO. Less spotty shit, more stompiness.

He's better. More grasp of pyschology and muchmore focused moveset. Less "LOOK HOW MANY DRAGON MOVES I CAN DO!" and more "I'm going to tear you a-fucking-part." type stuff.
Scrooge McSuck - April 24, 2006 01:36 AM (GMT)
Oh... fuuuuuck! I'd rather have Jushin Liger, but Low Ki not half-assing it is an equally good replacement, since we haven't seen him on TNA television in at least 2 years.
Real F'n Show - April 24, 2006 01:37 AM (GMT)
Liger's still coming in at some point, NJPW and TNA just had a scheduling conflict.
Also of note, TNA has signed Billy Kidman to a deal.
The Last Free Voice - April 24, 2006 01:37 AM (GMT)
They're still Hyping Lyger for the X-Cup, I think NJ just didn't want him in the cage.
But yes, Ki is fucking awesome as a heel, and I can't wait to see what they do with him. They made it sound like he was back for good, and not just a one-off, too.
Real F'n Show - April 24, 2006 01:44 AM (GMT)
So what's going on now LFV?
The Last Free Voice - April 24, 2006 02:07 AM (GMT)
As of right now it's Abyss/Xian. I'm not feeling well at all, so I haven't been paying much attention since Ki/Daniels. The X-Escape match was nothingness, which Sabin won. Bullet won the arm wrestling and the James gang beat down LAX. 3D won the Anthem match. I just got out of the shower, so I dunno what I missed. Sorry guys. I worked far too much over this past week (fourty hours from Tuesday-Saturday, when i'm only used to working twelve to fifteen hours a week...) so I'm pretty much fucked. Sorry .
The Last Free Voice - April 24, 2006 02:15 AM (GMT)
Xian with the Unprettier onto an assload of thumbtacks to win. Seemed like a decent little match, from what I saw of it.
Joe Won, by the by. But that wasn't really in question.
EDIT: Post match Christain goes back for some beatdown action on Mitchell, but Abyss fucks him up good and hangs him by the Chain. And now they're stealing the belt. Looks like this wasn't a one-off feud after all.
