Title: Backlash Poster
prof_plague - March 23, 2006 04:18 AM (GMT)
Sorry the picture wasn't that amazing. The tag line is "Long Live the King".
TheGreatWhiteChoate - March 23, 2006 05:34 AM (GMT)
That's a monstrously frightening poster. I see too much Triple H as it is.
whitemilesdavis - March 23, 2006 01:24 PM (GMT)
That's a really old picture of HHH.
prof_plague - March 23, 2006 04:55 PM (GMT)
I wonder if this is being passed around online just to screw with people. I don't think HHH is necessarily going to win at WM seeing many contenders have been on the posters before.
Scrooge McSuck - March 23, 2006 04:59 PM (GMT)
That's one fake looking poster.
prof_plague - March 23, 2006 05:04 PM (GMT)
Don't forget this is from RingsideMayham.com.
SamoaRowe - March 23, 2006 05:06 PM (GMT)
What is it with Triple H being on Backlash posters? He was on the Backlash poster for 2001, 2002, 2005, and now 2006?
TheGreatWhiteChoate - March 23, 2006 05:08 PM (GMT)
Well, he is married to McMahon's daughter....
SamoaRowe - March 23, 2006 05:11 PM (GMT)
I don't mean "why is Triple H frequently on ppv posters." I'm wondering why it's usually Backlash. The last time Triple H was on a non-Backlash ppv poster (that I can remember) was Vengeance 2005, and that was only because of the Batista match.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - March 23, 2006 05:12 PM (GMT)
You're right, it is odd. Maybe he's got a clause that says he has to be on the poster :P
prof_plague - March 23, 2006 05:14 PM (GMT)
HHH is a Raw wrestlier who usually main events WM; Blacklash is a Raw PPV with usually with a WM main event rematch.
That'd be my guess to it.
SamoaRowe - March 23, 2006 05:15 PM (GMT)
Yeah... and I could go on. Even though Triple H wasn't on the original Backlash 2000 poster (it featured Chris Jericho), Triple H was indeed on the Backlash 2000 video cover.
To be fair, the cover also had The Rock, Vince, Shane, and Stone Cold on it.
Then the Backlash 2003 poster was Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin, and Charlie Haas. It was changed since Angle was out with the neck injury around that time, so Goldberg/Rock got to be on the dvd cover.
And Chris Benoit was on the Backlash 2004 poster/dvd cover.
Why do I know all of this off the top of my memory.... :(
TheGreatWhiteChoate - March 23, 2006 05:16 PM (GMT)
I'm not sure whether to commend your memory or be frightened by it.

That's the one remember, along with 2005's Backlash.

Both.

Guys, it's very possible this is real. HHH vs. Cena is slated for Backlash regardless of who wins at Wrestlemania.

prof_plague - March 23, 2006 10:46 PM (GMT)
If anything, it's at least a prototype poster using an older picture.
whitemilesdavis - March 24, 2006 01:46 AM (GMT)
Not that I doubt HHH and Cena headlining Backlash, cause I'm sure that'll happen, but that won't be the poster.

Right. But I would think it'll be something close to this one.

Hunter will probably walk into Backlash either as Champion or win the belt. Hopefully he is Champion by then and crushes Cena in a rematch which is scheduled.
Mad Dog - March 25, 2006 09:19 PM (GMT)
Just a side note. Raw's going to be in Columbus on May 1st and HHH vs. Edge vs. Cena in a cage match for the WWF Title is being announced.

No - please no. HHH not as champion is a good thing. Let's not wreck this, Cena whether you like him or not, is not a political player - especially as champion.
