Title: Of these upcoming films...
Description: ... are you looking forward for?
SamoaRowe - March 8, 2006 06:55 PM (GMT)
Pick as many (or as few) as you want. I'm just curious, so I picked upcoming films with lots of hype, if you're wondering why I snubbed the independent film community.
I tend to look forward to these types of blockbusters more so than indie films, which usually garner my interest after hearing reviews.

Wow, what a creative crop of movies. Sequels and remakes galore!
I'm sure everyone can guess which movie I'm voting for, and if you don't know, where have you been for the last year and a half?

I would like to see Hollywood get away from this trend as well. But, if I get new X-Men and Superman movies, then you won't hear me bitching.
I didn't vote for See No Evil out of spite B) I'd say it should have been honored to even be included.

Go to hell, Rowe. See No Evil is going to be the most splendiferous movie of 2006! I can't wait to get the DVD and watch it over and over again.

As much as I hate remakes I'm really looking forward to The Hills Have Eyes. I actually think that Alexander Aja can remake this film to be better than Craven's original. The guy is fucking SUPER talented as a director.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - March 8, 2006 07:30 PM (GMT)
Pirates of the Caribbean 2, definitely. Loved the first one.

X3. Not a comic book or X-Men fan at all. In fact, didn't know shit about X-men when I saw the first movie, other than I remember playing a sweet arcade game as Wolverine.
I've really enjoyed them both, and look forward to somemore.

You may be horribly dissappointed in X3 though. The guy who wrote the first two isn't writing this one and the director (Brett Ratner) would've fucked up The Godfather.

It would take a hell of a lot of effort to fuck up the Godfather.
SamoaRowe - March 9, 2006 01:38 PM (GMT)
What is so terrible about Brett Ratner? Someone explain that to me, because I always hear about how shitty he is as a director, but I never hear any examples.
Didn't he direct Rush Hour? There was nothing wrong with Rush Hour.
dynamite kido - March 9, 2006 02:58 PM (GMT)
Rush Hour 3 (2007) (pre-production)
Josiah's Canon (2006) (pre-production)
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) (post-production)
... aka X3 (USA: promotional abbreviation)
Prison Break"
- Pilot (2005) TV Episode
After the Sunset (2004)
Red Dragon (2002)
... aka Roter Drache (Germany)
Rush Hour 2 (2001)
The Family Man (2000)
Mariah #1's (1999) (V) (video "Heartbreaker")
Madonna: The Video Collection 93:99 (1999) (V) (video "Beautiful Stranger")
Partners (1999/II) (TV)
"Making the Video" (1999) TV Series (videos "Heartbreaker", "Diddy" and "It's Like That")
Rush Hour (1998)
Money Talks (1997)
Whatever Happened to Mason Reese (1990)
So in other words he sucks horribly.
SamoaRowe - March 9, 2006 03:00 PM (GMT)
Red Dragon was good. I still don't see any evidence that he's as awful as everyone is acting. You'd almost think Joel Schumacher was directing X3.

He WAS a music video directer. He has seven movies to his credit, so he isn't exactly a beginner. And of the two movies of his I've seen, I liked both of them.
And I heard After the Sunset was really good, so once again I fail to see why everyone is acting like it is so awful that this guy is directing an X-Men movie.
dynamite kido - March 10, 2006 12:34 AM (GMT)
I don't want to sound like some kind of a film eletist or something, but he's incredibly unoriginal, brings nothing to the table and is basically a hack as a director.
Spawnie Guy - March 10, 2006 03:14 PM (GMT)
I must be a true outsider if i am the only one who voted for Happy Feet. Haven't any of you seen the preview for it? I think it'll be one of the better computer-animated movies of the past couple of years or at least the one of the better non-Pixar ones.
whitemilesdavis - March 10, 2006 04:36 PM (GMT)
I haven't seen the previews for it...I don't think. I end up seeing all the computer animated stuff, so I'm sure I'll catch it.
