I'm really hoping he pulls through. I grew up in the prime of this guy's career, and he was always one of my favorite players to watch.

Same here, it's a shame that it seems that since he retired that he keeps having health problems.

Real F'n Show - March 6, 2006 05:45 PM (GMT)
One of the truly nice guys in the sport. Get well soon Kirby.

I've never been a Twins follower and the only time I saw Puckett was him spanking my Yankees, but I hope he gets well soon. Seems like too nice of a guy for this to happen to.

Kirby was a delight. You'd turn on TV and somone would say "look at that little jugbutt guy". Then you'd say "yeah, he's pretty damn good, too". They'd say "whoa... really?!"

Yeah, it is too bad that he's had some sexual misconduct suits fired at him since his retirement.

Fun Random Memory: Kirby was on Monday Nitro once!

From ESPN.com:

Puckett Dies Following Stroke
Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett died Monday, a day after suffering a stroke at his Arizona home, a hospital spokeswoman said. The 44-year-old Puckett, who led the Twins to two World Series titles before his career was cut short by glaucoma, was stricken Sunday morning at his Arizona home.

This really sucks :(

Holy crap... :(

Big F'N Swigg - March 7, 2006 01:53 AM (GMT)
I'm completely stunned...........

He beat my then favorite team in the World Series, and I'll never forget him for that.

dynamite kido - March 7, 2006 05:38 AM (GMT)
I'm shocked and saddened by this. The guy was one of my heroes growing up.

RIP Kirby.............I'll miss ya.

The pennants are flying at half-mast.

Somewhere, Kirby's leaping into the center field wall to rob Mickey Mantle of a homerun and preserving a shutout for Walter Johnson.

Thanks for everything, Kirby.

RIP.
