3/04/06 || Ring of Honor's Empty Threats Are Responded to by CZW! POSTED BY SABATO - Ring of Honor continues to send empty threats for this Saturday. It's time for Ring of Honor to show what they're really made of. We won't just be sending a couple guys to interrupt your show. Our whole roster will be in the house this Saturday. Ring of Honor is coming into our house and CZW gave them the opportunity to have a show in the most hallowed halls of this business, the ECW Arena. And Ring of Honor has done nothing to continue to call out our talent and send empty threats. It's taken Ring of Honor's whole locker room to clear the ring of a few guys from CZW. CZW has been silent. Combat Zone Wrestling has always been about letting our actions speak louder than words. And once again we're going to let our actions speak louder than words. The Blackout is Combat Zone Wrestling. They were formed to rise up and rise against Combat Zone Wrestling but just like every other person to go against Combat Zone Wrestling they come together for the company. The Blackout have paid their dues. Now the CZW World Heavyweight Champion Ruckus, will team up with the CZW World Tag Team Champions Eddie Kingston & Joker. Who will they take on? A group that wase formed to rise up and rise against Ring of Honor. And when they got their chance they took it and now they represent Ring of Honor. Former ROH Heavyweight Champion and current ROH Tag Team Champion, Austin Aries will team up with former Best of the Best 4 runner-up and current ROH Tag Team Champion Roderick Strong along with Generation's Next off and on again partner Matt Sydal. When 2 Worlds Collide, only one will be left standing. And it will be CZW! Get your tickets now for this Saturday!: |

I've found the whole angle to be really lame for the most part. NOAH and New Japan did it a lot better.
prof_plague - March 4, 2006 10:31 PM (GMT)
This actually sounds interesting. Hardcore wrestling vs. Pro wrestling. This is sounds good because there are some wrestlers who have worked for both CZW and RoH - like Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere.
whitemilesdavis - March 4, 2006 11:04 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it's the only thing either promotion has done to grab my interest lately. I was hoping they wouldn't go full scale promotion vs. promotion, but I'm still anxious to see where it goes.

March 7th: Yesterday we reported that BJ Whitmer challenged anyone from CZW to face him this Saturday when ROH makes its debut at the former ECW Arena in Philly with a special 4pm show as the first half of a double header in that famous building with CZW. It didn't take long for the challenge to be answered. It will be BJ Whitmer vs. Necro Butcher at the ROH event on Saturday!!! This isn't going to be a match, it is going to be a fight. If you watched ROH Video Recap at ROHvideos.com you can see exactly how angry Whitmer is that the CZW invaders hit the ring during his match vs. Christopher Daniels at the Fourth Anniversary Show. Now BJ is fightin' mad and Necro Butcher will give him that fight on Saturday.

Ring Of Honor is very pleased to announce that NWA Champion Christian Cage is heading to ROH for one night only. Christian will see action inside the ROH ring on Friday, May 12th in Long Island at Sports Plus Entertainment. This will be your only chance to see Christian Cage compete inside a ROH ring. ROH will sign him against a top competitor. We'll have more news on this in the upcoming weeks. Tickets for this event are on sale now at ROHwrestling.com, by calling 215-781-2500 and at Ticketmaster outlets. |
prof_plague - March 14, 2006 01:37 AM (GMT)
And Christian Cage's opponent....
JARELLE CLARRRRK!
The Last Free Voice - March 21, 2006 04:00 PM (GMT)
I'm thinking it'll be Joe. Since Joe's doing the whole "moving up" thing in TNA now...
Big F'N Swigg - April 24, 2006 10:02 PM (GMT)
I just wanted to say that because of the CZW vs. ROH stuff, I won't be at the Dayton show this weekend.
The Last Free Voice - April 24, 2006 10:04 PM (GMT)
I won't be at the show because I'll be working...
Mad Dog - April 24, 2006 10:33 PM (GMT)
You know I had been down on RoH for awhile but this crap has killed my interest completely in RoH. Ugh..... is this a stupid prentensious piece of shit feud.
Big F'N Swigg - April 24, 2006 11:03 PM (GMT)
I've got a few problems with this feud..
1. Neither company is big enough to warrant feuding. ROH is expanding, and I never thought CZW was that big anyhow.
2. There's no reason for the feud other than CZW is jealous of ROH. In which case, CZW should actually try to outdo ROH on THEIR OWN SHOWS.
3. I really don't care about CZW, and don't really care about it's workers. I don't want to go to an ROH show to see CZW workers.
And the big problem is that ROH has already done this feud with Steamboat and Foley. And frankly, it worked then because of who was involved. But why do I care what Necro Butcher & Chris Hero think? I don't respect either side enough at the moment to warrant this feud. And honestly, Jim Cornette is good and all... but he's not Steamboat. And there's no gray area in this feud. You're either ROH/Pure or CZW/Hardcore. Which is why it won't work. What if I like both? What if I don't have an opinion?
Mad Dog - April 24, 2006 11:05 PM (GMT)
I totally agree with everything you said. And I'll just add the overall lameness of things like fake message board hackings and fans sending in reports about how they out chanted the other fed's fans. It really makes me ashamed to be a wrestling fan in a lot of ways.
dynamite kido - April 25, 2006 12:00 AM (GMT)
2 things you guys are forgetting.
#1)Feuds like this are for the indy fanboys that cream their pants at indy companies feuding.
#2) Swiggy answered himself when he said about why does he care what Hero and Necro think. No one does, that's what makes them solid heels to the ROH crowd.
Hell, I'm not big on the feud either, but I'll keep quiet until I watch the stuff fully.........which will take me forever.
Big F'N Swigg - April 25, 2006 12:14 AM (GMT)
See.. not caring what they think doesn't make them a good heels to me. Even if you're a heel I should have a reason to care about what you're saying. Which is also why HHH is ineffective to me.
Big F'N Swigg - April 25, 2006 12:21 AM (GMT)
Here's the other thing.... I used to be stoked for every ROH show when they came through. Because of the workers, and because of the feuds. But now that this is the focal point of the company, I'm just not that into it. They could have anybody vs. Danielson for the title, and I wouldn't go. Partly because I know that it's gooing to be all about CZW vs. ROH.
And because it brings CZW fans in, who I've come to believe are worse than ROH/TNA fans

No no, reread what I said Swiggy. TO THE ROH CROWD. Not necessarily you, but it works with the way that their company is. It's for all of the ROHbots to just go all apeshit about how better ROH is than another promotion (although ROH IS a much better promotion.........). IT's like company giving itself a blowjob.
Big F'N Swigg - April 25, 2006 12:54 PM (GMT)
Gotcha. That makes sense.
I just can't see either company having the fanbase to make this an interesting feud
Big F'N Swigg - April 26, 2006 05:32 PM (GMT)
Here's a question:
Am I the only one that expected Claudio Castagnoli to join up with CZW

I thought that myself, but I'm glad they didn't.....he fits the ROH mold much better.
Big F'N Swigg - April 26, 2006 06:35 PM (GMT)
He turned on Adam Pearce at the last show.... He's CZW

Ahhhh, well nevermind. That certainly makes that angle much worse to me then.
Mad Dog - April 26, 2006 07:05 PM (GMT)
I really don't get the smark hardon for Claudio. I mean he's ok but he's not someone I go out of my way to see or care about what they do. That's my whole problem with this feud. If I wanted to see the CZW guys I'd buy their shows. All this feud is doing is watering down the one product that I might watch.

Trust me, those guys are better in ROH than in CZW. I've been getting the harsh reality check that was CZW's Best of the Best 5.............every ROH I've seen for the most part I thought was better than that show.
