Title: I'm Going to a Live Show
jamiegeist - February 25, 2006 11:10 PM (GMT)
Me and some buddies just got some tickets to the Smackdown taping at Kemper Arena on March 28th. Its actually the same two guys I attended the first ever Smackdown taping, in Kemper, many many moons ago....so it is a bit of a homecoming for us and could be fun. Although I seriously doubt we get anything near the quality of the Triple H v Rock w/HBK as Special Ref Main Event we got there that night.
Anyway, I wanted to ask everyone ideas about how and where to go to try and talk to wrestlers before the shows, and namely wanted to ask Cage Classic to give me a few more details about just how the hell he got in the ring, and what other tricks and pointers he might have for us at the show.
Just looking to have the best time possible, and this is my first live event since Wrestlemania 17, so it will no doubt be a let down.....therefore, just looking for some fun. Thanks.

Bring a sign that will go over most newer fans heads, like "I'd Rather be at Primetime Wrestling." :D

That's a pretty good idea. Do something nice and old school -- but really, everytime I make a sign its a big pain in the ass. Never gets on TV, although its always ahead of its time and witty, and a big fucker to lug around all over the place.
WM 17 signs: 4 giant boards: "Fear The Cross Face". And my buddy had a "Eddie Guerrero: Cheat to Win" sign. And our mark friend made one with a Tombstone that said Triple H on it, and underneat said "Game Over". It was the best one, but fuck that mark bitch.

I should add that we're sitting Row 6 on the floor, next to the ramp, which is easily the best seats I've ever had at a wrestling show.

Well as far as meeting the guys, you are going to have to get to the arena EARLY, and you still might not get a chance. Your best bet would be find out what local hotel near the arena that the guys stay at and go hangout in the bar..........you may run into a couple.
Otherwise, you could always go to where the wrestlers park at (sometimes they have a specific parking lot that they park in or sometimes it's actually IN the arena......) and wait there, a lot of guys will hang out and bullshit or sign autographs. Plus, the entrance to where they park is also a good place to have a funny sign or something to catch their attention. It's probably smarter to have a sign there than it would be to actually take one into the show with you.

Use what I do to sneak into places. Just act like you know where you're going and when someone asks say "oh, Dave said we could come in". Every company has a Dave. ("these are the Daves I know, I know..these are the Daves I know")
I have a great and original idea for a sign.... write your NAME on the sign and have an ARROW pointing down to yourself!!!
Of course, if you want to score unlimited Cool Points for life, make a sign that sez "Logic in Wrestling!" and hold it up anytime something stupid happens. Or a sign that sez: "BEARHUG!!!"

Or bring a blank sign to dick with the people you're blocking their view of the ring. Hell, any sign that fucks with someones mind is a great choice. Fuck "Game Over" or "My Name" signs. :)

Y'know...I'm surprised I didn't think of this before: just go up to GM Teddy Long's office. It's in EVERY arena and should be well labeled in the arena's lobby.
