| Velocity: Paul Birchall defeated Orlando Jordan Orlando got massive heat despite being from Richmond (and from my high school) and started ripping on Arthur Ashe. Birchall was pretty over as a pirate and won with the Shiver Me Timbers (what, its not like they'll give it a name)- it was a cross between a Rock Botton and Belly to Belly Suplex (I haven't seen his C4 so that may have been it) Six Man Tag Team Match: Simon Dean & The Gymni defeated Paul London, Brian Kendrick, & Funaki Pretty boring match with the heels dominating Funaki most of the match. London and Kendrick brought in some nice offense but it was ultimately one of the Gymnini reversing Sliced Bread #2 into a Train Wreck type move. Super Crazy defeated Vito The crowd was really into the Mexicools tonight. Pretty good match with Crazy picking up the win following a sweet Missile Dropkick and a standing Shooting Star Press. Juniors Match: Masagrita Sagrada defeated Sookay (sp?) GREAT comedy match. I normally hate the Juniors but this match had me cracking up. Sagrada won with a Mexican roll. Well worth the watch. Sylvain defeated Sean Patrick (aka Jobber) Slyvain is back to being from Quebec instead of Long Beach and he starting insulting America. Patrick didn't look bad but he succumbed to the F5 (yes, Brock Lesnar's old move has been given to a jobber) SmackDown begins: We start without pyro, straight to Randy Orton. He comes out and brags about his victory. He runs down Angle, Taker, Rey, and Eddie until Chavo Guerrero hops the guardrail and lets loose on Orton! Three Amigos and a Frog Splash on Randy until security halls him off and Chavo has this crazy look in his eyes. WWE Tag Team Title Match: MNM defeated Matt Hardy & Tatanka to retain Standard fare but not bad. Matt Hardy was majorly over and in a funny moment counted all the people in the arena holding up the V1 sign. Finish came when Melina stopped Hardy from hitting the Twist of Fate and I believe Mercury rolled him up with the tights. Backstage William Regal reads a letter to Paul Birchall from Regal's biggest fan asking Birchall to stop acting like a bloody pirate. Birchall responds by handing Regal a bomb and lighting the fuse. Naturally it's a fake but that doesn't stop Regal from freaking out. Handicap Match: The Boogeyman defeated The Dicks (Booker T & Sharmell on commentary) My God was the Boogeyman over! I swear his pop was bigger than Hogan's a few years back. Basic squash, but after the match Boogey goes over to the announce table. Booker high tails it but Boogey isn't finished: he takes a bag full of worms and dumps it on the announce table! Cole and Tazz hop the barricade to get away. Pretty nasty. Rey Mysterio is out next. He apologizes to Vicky, Chavo, the fans, and Eddie for letting them down. He is about to leave until Teddy Long arrives! Teddy says that what happened at No Way Out wasn't right, and while he couldn't reverse the decision he could still add to the main event at WrestleMania. Therefore it will be the World Heavyweight Champion vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio in a Triple Threat Match!!! Crowd goes nuts! I love having a face GM. Krystal Marshall comes out next and pimps the Divas Magazine. She wants to give up a preview but Jillian Hall interrupts. After exchanging slaps Krystal takes off Jillian's top and then disrobes herself. My seats weren't great but I can tell you with all certainty that Krystal has an amazing ass. Cruiserweight Title Match: Gregory Helms defeated Psicosis to retain This was a pretty good match but the crowd was DEAD. Helms wins with a sloppy feet-on-ropes job. We watch highlights on the Angle-Taker match from NOW and Teddy Long returns to tell us that next week in DC will be the rematch for the World Heavyweight Title. Six Man Tag Team Match: Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit, & Bobby Lashley defeated Randy Orton, JBL, & Finlay Glad to see that gave Lashley his first name back. Really good match that should transfer well to TV. Finish came when Benoit delivered a brutal German suplex to JBL setting him up for Rey Mysterio to hit 619 and hit a splash. |
