Looks like a worthy dvd collection, though I think I would tire of watching all Hogan matches after the first set or so.

I don't think I could stand that much Hulkamania in one sitting. Give it 3 or so and I think I'd be all set.

I'd name each disc a "Demandment". Sure, when it was all said and done, there were officially Five Demandments of Hulkamania... but around 1990-1993 there were four.
I've seen most of the stuff on #'s 2-4..and some of #1 was included on "Hulk Still Rules". So aside from the Bockwinkel matches, there's not alot on there that makes me wanna' buy.
It's still a decent collection and I like how they included most of his WrestleMania main events (what? No Sid match from Wrestlemania 8??! Or Andre from WM4?! HA!). Only glaring omission I can see is the 1988 Main Event match. That was a crappy match in itself, but the outside the ring drama was amazing.

For the first disc, the Bockwinkel matches look interesting and so the Inoki match.
For the second one, I'd love to see the Savage, Warrior and Orndorff matches on DVD.
For the third one, the first 4 matches are all solid to good, with a fun nWo/WCW Wargames match. They missed out on the Goldberg match but it doesn't matter too much.
And for the last disc, I knew they were gonna add the Vince and HBK matches which were solid. Plus the tag w/ Edge vs Billy & Chuck wasn't bad either. Overall, it's a good DVD with stuff I haven't seen before and I'm definately gonna get it.

I like how they left off Hogan's match with Kurt Angle in 2002. I guess they don't want to remind us that Hogan taps cleanly to the ankle lock in that one.

Or his match wtih Brock Lesnar.
Overall, it's a nice set. Finally, a DVD to compare to Flair's set. I mean, where every disc is actually filled with complete matches.

(passes out)
I probably will get this, but not because there's a lot of stuff I don't have.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - February 15, 2006 05:18 PM (GMT)
That was a remarkably restrained response.
prof_plague - February 15, 2006 05:22 PM (GMT)
You won't be buying it at all Choate!

Don't be a hater, Plague.

Honestly, this is another set that I actually gave a gripe with. It's another unjustified buy for any tape collector. I mean, I would like to check out the Bockwinkle match for sure, but I have the Inoki match...........and just about everything else on there. I was actually looking forward to this but I honestly have NO idea what they are doing with the match listing on there.......they could have done a WAAAAAY better DVD.
SamoaRowe - February 15, 2006 06:32 PM (GMT)
Clearly the dvd is targeted for fans who aren't tape collectors and probably only buy a couple of wrestling dvds a year.
Which is what I'm trying to cut back on (WWE at least, I'm in the mood to expand my TNA collection).
