Title: Best match of SNME?
Description: What's your pick

I've been watching a great deal of old Saturday Night's Main Event shows and it led me to think...........What's the greatest SNME match of all time? I'll post my thought's later, but I would like to see what everyone thinks too......SO WHAT IS IT?
Real F'n Show - December 8, 2004 02:08 AM (GMT)
I dug the hell out of these two:
Hart Foundation v. Rockers from late April 1990- my favorite SNME match
and
Bret vs. DiBiase from spring 1991
Both are excellent and worth seeking out, especially the tag.

Haven't seen enough to declare a best, but these three need to be seen:
Bret Hart vs. Randy Savage - 11/87
Classic, star-making match with Bret outsmarting Savage and Savage selling his ass off for Bret. Crapload of heat too.
Bret Hart vs. Ted DiBiase - 4/91
Classic Bret formula match with Ted being an awesome heel here. Marred by a non-finish but the body of the match is superb.
Shawn Michaels vs. Davey Boy Smith - 11/92
Short (around nine minutes) but the manage to cram a ton of good work into it. Power vs speed/cunning told to T. Cool little back injury story worked in there too. One of the most underrated WWF matches ever, I think. And Davey is OVER. Get this.

I gotta agree with the above matches mentioned.
The Rockers and Brain Busters had 2 good SNME matches (1 being the 2xwhatever and the other 2/3 Falls).
Ted Dibiase vs. Blue Blazer from 4/89 was pretty good for a short match.

Here's one I wanted to throw out there as well. If you've never seen it, you should definately try and seek it out.
Hulk Hogan vs. Big Boss Man - 4/25/89
-This match is one of Hogan's greatest matches of his entire career. Also, I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen.........but they do a spot in this one that is almost impossable to believe that someone would do and pull off in 1989 WWF. This is definately a sweet match..........

It's also worth noting that the spot was done by a 340 lb. Boss Man and Hogan, who is no small guy either.

Which makes it a lot more unreal that they even tried it......rather than actually pulling it off.

Hulk Hogan vs. Harley Race, just a great brawl as it was one of the first U.S. matches to use the breaking table spot.

I love that match, it shows how good Race was even past his prime......

Picking a "great" match for SNME is beside the point. Any match is great when you're 9 years old, up past bedtime, and watching wrestling.

However there IS a point to picking one when your not 9 years old and are no longer a mark. Hell, when I was a kid I liked everything they did for the most part.

The Mega Powers vs. Twin Towers match from 2/89 wasn't too bad, but what made it great was the storyline developement throughout it.
As a kid I enjoyed EVERYTHING.

In that case, Brainbusters/Demolition 2/3 falls.

Just remembered a pretty good match between Mr. Perfect and Tito Santana from the July 1990 episode. Santana actually looked like a credible threat despite being a JTTS.
