Last night at an OVW show OVW Champion Matt Cappotelli announced that he was hanging it up for the time being, as he is unable to defend it after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. In a long and emotional speech, Cappotelli announced that the tumor was indeed cancerous, and on a scale of 1-4 with 4 being the worst possible scenario, it is a 2. He also said it was too soon to know if he will be able to return to wrestling.

Wow, scary stuff. I hope he pulls through this.

I had a friend that had something similar. Not a pretty thing. Hopefully he survives. Sounds like they caught it early and so hopefully he has a good chance. He probably won't ever see a ring again.

Yeah, this is pretty terrible. From everything I've heard he's progressed well since being there and the only thing that keeps holding him back is his health. So hopefully he'll get well and be able to return someday..........

I wouldn't rule out Matt coming back. Remember Liger? Didn't he have a tumor removed from his brain back a long time ago (around 95-96)? And medical science has improved in the last 10 years by a whole lot.

I hope Matt gets through this okay.

I don't think Liger had a cancerous tumor though. He might be able to come back but he's got a long road ahead.

As far as I remember Liger's was DEFINATELY cancerous.......

Also I remember it being the worst kind that you can have, but then again I could be wrong.

We might not wrestle, but he can always do backstage stuff, or act as a non-wrestler, or something.
