Title: Make your own SPIKE

Big F'N Swigg - February 9, 2006 01:58 AM (GMT)
Here's an idea my wife gave me:

Spike is called "the network for men," right? But it's not as generally accepted as a guy network like Lifetime is accepted as a women's network. So, let's pretend that we're in charge of programming for Spike. What would you put on the network? We'll keep TNA & UFC programming. Add on...

Magnum P.I.

SamoaRowe - February 9, 2006 02:20 AM (GMT)
The Man Show (obviously, and late at night like on G4)

Home Improvement (early afternoons)

A-Team

Knight Rider

Tales from the Crypt

TheGreatWhiteChoate - February 9, 2006 03:34 AM (GMT)
Family Guy

NFL Legends

Care Bears......I mean, uh...

They should play more Three Stooges, pick up the Red Green Show, air G.I. Joe cartoons, try to get American Dad reruns, and bring back that show where robots fight each other.

World's Strongest Man. Everytime I'm at a bar around closing time, those things will pop on ESPN and everyone's glued to the set. Just pick up the old 70's reruns with Bill Kazmaier, John Mantuszak and other freaks (wasn't Ken Patera in a few?)

Old (pre-Sci Fi channel) Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Okay...probably just seasons 2-6, then. Joel acts way too much like Mr. Rogers in the first season.

This is key: old Hercules cartoons.

Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Sanford & Son.

Longshot, but dig into the TNN vaults and bring back Dusty Rhodes and Motor Mad-neth!! Well, maybe not Dusty, but who's gonna' turn away from old station wagons kicking the shit out of each other?!

All 4 episodes of "Colin Quinn's Manly World" from 1990. Hell, get Remote Control.. it'd be dated as hell, but that was usually a kick (and Kari was hotter than fuck back then)

Another longshot....but USA's old "UP All Night". I was probably one of the few guys who preferred the Gilbert Gottfried-hosted episodes.

Along those lines, something like USA's old "Night Flight". You guys may be too young to remember, but they would air rock videos, weird cartoons, live music performances, interviews with actors/musicians and old Marx Brothers stuff. A 4 hour random anthology show. Insanely popular in the early days of cable integration (1980-1984).

Re-runs of South Park, Reno 911, Beavis & Butt-head and My Name is Earl.

American Gladiators re-runs. Especially the 1995 version that had the hot-ass English chic, Jet! I remember walking through my dorm in 1993 and every guy had their TV tuned to Gladiators on USA at 3pm.

No I actually preferred the Gottfried hosted Up All Night's myself.

Cool. Rhonda just didn't do it for me and looked too much like a slutty truckstop waitress. Gilbert usually had a gimmick for each show and was actually funny. He did one show where he was locked in the back of a car trunk all night.

American Gladiators were in re-runs on TNN a couple of years ago. The bastards removed it to air more Hee-Haw: The Next Generation.

Actually I remember a LOT of Up All Night's like that one. With Gilbert being totally off camera for the whole show. I used to love when they'd show horror flicks on there or the Vice Squad movies..................usually Gilbert would go the extra mile for those.

I wanted to choke Rhonda everytime she said "up all night." Dumb whore.

jamiegeist - February 11, 2006 02:38 AM (GMT)
Yeah, pulling Gladiators was NOT COOL. They should definitely get that shit back on.

How bout the old MTV gameshow, Remote Control. When MTV wasn't just chicks whoring themselves to douchey guys on Room Raiders or NEXT.

I'd say old Quarterback Challenge shows and things like that, but NFL Network has that shit locked up forever.

I like Nick GAS quite a bit, but I think I have a little of the gay in me, cause I can watch Double Dare, Legends of the Hidden Temple, and all that shit for hours.

My TV Station would suck, and I am the only one who would ever watch it.

S.T. Strickler - February 11, 2006 02:48 AM (GMT)
If Spike TV won't ever show AG again, I would definitely like to see it on the Game Show Network.

Confession... I used to watch Nick GAS all the time. :( Legends of the Hidden Temple! Get the Picture! Finders Keepers! Double Dare! Figure It Out! Think Fast! Make The Grade! That Other Show!

And Toon Disney, until it was bastardized with THE POWER RANGERS. When did that become a cartoon?

Big F'N Swigg - February 14, 2006 11:08 PM (GMT)
Show some Bob Vila shit during the mornings. Old men love house & Auto repair.

And man, are there a lot of old men out there
