At UPN's presentation today before the Television Critics Association at the Winter Press tour, president of entertainment Dawn Ostroff indicated they are looking to keep WWE.
The contract for Smackdown expires in September and WWE was at first unhappy with being blindsided last year with the move to Friday night. However, Smackdown numbers have improved in recent weeks to being only slightly down from Thursday after a rough first few months.
"We fully intend to have wrestling on our schedule," Ostroff said today, and noted they are in negotiations for a new deal. |

I actually like the show on Friday.....but I live in DVR land, where I watch absolutely nothing live. So I can't really say.

I watch SD a lot less than when it was on thursdays. I don't know why, but friday isn't a great wrestling night. I oftne forget TNA Xplosion is on friday nights for the past 2 years.

I've hardly watched SD since it moved to Friday, and I hardly watch any TNA shows because it's on Fridays and Saturdays.

Weekend/ Friday nights just aren't the best time to put your show on, frankly. I do enjoy Smackdown, but I'm not inclined to watch it on a night where I usually can find something better to do.

To be honest, I have missed more Smackdown since it moved to Fridays that I have during any other period since I first got cable. Usually it is due to me working and not remembering to set a tape.
I'm trying harder to remember now. Believe it or not, but I actually miss it.
