Title: Favorite Way to Watch Wrestling

Peter North - December 4, 2004 03:56 AM (GMT)
Figured I'd get the ball rolling. Basically, what is your favorite place/state to watch wrestling? For me, I try to have a few beers handy, hit the bong a little bit, put my feet up on the ottoman, and sit back in a comfortable chair, in my basement. The problem with integrating the bong into the viewing is while I may be transfixed by what I'm watching as I'm watching it, I have little idea as to what happened in the match once I've watched it.

Live. It's just so much more fun that way.

As for on the TV -- just as long as I'm somewhat comfortable I'm okay watching the wrestling.

Lol, I prefer to watching crazy spotfests or insane deathmatches when I'm intoxicated.

Anyway, I prefer watching indy wrestling and puro by myself and WWE/TNA with my friends. I usually go to a friends house to watch PPVs and we have a good time.

Maybe I should create a General Wrestling forum...

None of my friends watch wrestling, and know I like it, but really have no idea the depths of how much I do. With that being said, I watch all of my wrestling alone, except for when I torture my girlfriend with it. Spotfests and deathmatches and such are ideal for drinking, and I find the reefer helps with the mat wrestling-type stuff.

But yeah, there's something to be said about going and seeing it live. Sadly, I work almost every night, including weekends, so I don't get to go nearly as often as I'd like.

I wish I didn't live in such a shitty wrestling state. There's like no decent feds that run in Iowa. Ring of Honor would never run here, IWA-MS doesn't, and the WWE comes here like once or twice a year. That being said, I've only been to about 5 wrestling events in my life, and only 2 that were televised. ECW Hardcore Heaven in Wisconsin was one of them though, and I'm seen on camera throughout the show, so that's cool.

That's funny, I live in New Jersey, which has a shitload of good stuff in very close proximity, yet my job keeps me from going to see it. I've been huge into wrestling since I was about 5 (I'm 25), yet the only PPV I've ever been to was an ECW one in Asbury Park. I forget which one it was, whichever one had Sabu/Tazz and a good RVD/Lynn match. If you listen during the intros for the RVD match, when they announce him as being 1/2 of the tag champs, you can clearly hear me yell "Three Quarters!" Certainly one of my brightest hours.

Watching wrestling live is my preferred option, but one that does not present itself to me all that often.

I love watching the pay-per-views with my friends, but most of them are not interested in it anymore. So I basically watch it alone :(

I like to watch wrestling alone, in my room, with the AC on, sipping on a Vanilla Coke.

Alone, so people don't see/hear me marking out like a little girl for a great match. ;)

Usually I watch with friends. RAW every Monday I watch with friends, and if I didn't.....I would hav quit watching it some time ago.

Tapes, I watch with friends or by myself.....with an assist to Mr. Chronic as well.

Also live events I go to with friends all the time. I live in Pittsburgh, which is a solid wrestling city as we get some WWE, ROH has been here for 2 shows, and there is a good local fed here by the name of (IWC) International Wrestling Cartel. So it could be a lot worse.......

That sounds so intense.

I used to watch RAW with my friends, but now I just watch wrestling alone, or my wife knits while I watch.

I like to hang upside down like a bat in a tree to watch. It makes it much more interesting.

Scrooge McSuck - December 13, 2004 01:04 AM (GMT)
I can't watch wrestling with other people unless it's so bad it's entertaining. I watch the matches I'm interested in, then do something else like read Sports Illustrated during matches I have no interest in.

TehDoct0r - December 25, 2004 03:57 PM (GMT)
Live is the best way to go. I've gone to every RoH show in Philly and Jersey since last November, and I go to most JAPW shows. Tapes are good too. I usually watch all that alone, but WWE and TNA I watch with friends. I go to Indys with a group of 5 guys, but for some reason we never watch the tapes we purchase together.

Gee...look what I found. Bumping this because I think it's a fairly senseless thread. Good thing nobody asked "what do you watch wrestling on".

Basically, looks like an excuse for some Long Forgotten Poster to tell us that he smokes weed... hee hee, he smokes! See, he smokes!!

Real F'n Show - April 28, 2006 11:11 PM (GMT)
I've wondered whatever happened to this guy. He posted a lot for a month or so, then disappeared. Then reappeared like 5 months ago and posted like 10 times, then left again.

Awesome. You should have your own website very intertesting little tidbits like this.
