According to backstage sources in TNA, Sting was very sociable with everyone when he was there. He showed up bright and early in great shape, looking ready to go. He was hanging out, joking, talking to, and spending lots of time with all the other wrestlers there. He spent a lot of time talking to Abyss, who he is a big fan of.
When Sting was in TNA previously, he was said to have kind of a bad attitude where he just showed up, did his thing, and left. However things are visibly much different this time.
Word going around now is that Sting is very open to putting people over and doing jobs. He realizes this is his last run and is ready to go. It's said he wants to have fun and help TNA out, more specifically, he wants to help TNA out to the point where they are considered competition for WWE. He has been vocal about his feelings about how wrestling needs competition.
The belief right now is that Sting very well could be to TNA what Terry Funk was to ECW, where he can put over their up and coming wrestlers. |
Hmm... OK, now I need Final Resolution. Anyone want to trade? DK Maybe? :D

Good for Sting, that's the kind of wrestler that TNA SHOULD be interested in. Stars or former stars willing to do what they can to give back to the business. Good for Sting. Hopefully, this doesn't end up as bullshit.
Oh, and yes...............I can hook you up with FR Scrooge if you want.

Final Revolution sounds good, so why not. :)
I love showing this news bit into everyones faces who said Sting would only want to put himself over and be a selfish jerk. No one here, but since I had it C&P'ed already...

I've seen people say that too, and I can't find where Sting has ever been known as that type of performer.

The only time I've really ever heard anything about that was when Sting was in TNA the first time.

You can't really blame him for that, either. TNA was still living down the Johnsons & the midget in the trash can

His philosophy to feuds is that only one worker can get over from it. So people misrepresent that as him trying to bury talent instead of it just being an opinion.

That was back in 1992-93 with Mick Foley, IIRC. I'm sure Sting realized after that, that both men could get over if booked properly. It's just another example of people grasping for straws to bash someone.

I'm probably getting the Replay on Tuesday. So keep spoilers out of thread titles in here. If any of you spoil it I'm kidnapping Scrooge and leaving him at your front door.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2006 12:36 PM (GMT)
What if I do it? You're going to kidnap me and leave me to myself? :D
Mad Dog - January 11, 2006 12:44 PM (GMT)
No, I'll make you watch the Heroes of Wrestling PPV on a loop for a month straight.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2006 12:55 PM (GMT)
I can deal with that... does the volume have to be on?

I'm sure that idea comes from Foley's book, where Foley is criticizing the environment Sting came up in, not Sting's mentality. He also goes on to point out how Sting's thoughts on that quickly changed.

I'm sure Sting was open to anything up until he was feuding with Hogan in WCW and found out what backstage politics were all about.

I've heard it elsewhere. I take little of what Foley said in his books at face value. He's an enjoyable read but the guy WAAAAAY overrates his value as a performer before about late 1998. It always struck me as sourgrapes on his part that Sting didn't decide to give a lot to a mid-card nothing.

I agree with you on that. In fact, Foley is a much better writer than wrestler. His comments on Flair strike me the same way.

I'm also going to throw this fact out....
I will buy every TNA PPV no matter what if they book Abyss/Sting on the card.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2006 04:30 PM (GMT)
If we get Abyss/Sting, I'll never say anything bad about TNA and TNA accessories ever again. :)
