Title: What do you like and dislike the most about DWB?

Real F'n Show - January 9, 2006 06:51 PM (GMT)
Simple question, be honest. I'm trying to gather some opinions to make DWB a better board in 2006.

Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2006 06:54 PM (GMT)
(makes sure to hide in corner)

Good: Uh... we don't have retards, other than myself, causing problems for no reason. :D Also, there's no one who butchers the english language.

Bad: Hmm... We need more nerdy video game and Star Wars discussion. And no more unprovoked Kane bashing.

dynamite kido - January 9, 2006 07:06 PM (GMT)
We could use a few more regular members............and better horror discussion.

That's about it from me...

Real F'n Show - January 9, 2006 07:13 PM (GMT)
Yeah, more regular posters definately, but that's been the hardest to try and accomplish. We have the big 12, some supporting characters, and then no one.

I'll try and see what I can do.

It's like the RAW Roster. Can I be Chris Masters? :D

Real F'n Show - January 9, 2006 07:20 PM (GMT)
No, you're Shelton's momma.

Mad Dog - January 9, 2006 07:43 PM (GMT)
More discussion in general would be good. It seems things have been moving at a snails pace since Christmas. Not that the WWF is giving us shit to talk about. Though on top of that I've felt the wrestling talk has lacked a little focus lately. It seems like we end up at point D when trying to go from point A to point B.

dynamite kido - January 9, 2006 08:18 PM (GMT)
I would agree with that MD. Maybe some of us can raise issues to talk about instead of what the companies are giving us. I'll work on that myself too....

whitemilesdavis - January 9, 2006 09:32 PM (GMT)
The "number of members" issue personally doesn't bother me at all. We have cut the retard factor considerably at this board, and it seems with numbers, comes retards. We seem to have a few new guys slowly filtering in that fit the mold well enough. Though the discussion has been slower, it is mostly high-quality. I don't want to sacrifice that just for the sake of it moving faster. I think maybe the holidays have gotten everyone out of their habits, along with wrestling being a little stale right now. That should all pick up shortly.

eStragand - January 9, 2006 10:14 PM (GMT)
Thing I like about this joint is the lack of smarmy dicks. What I mean by this is, at other message boards you'll mention something (like a random fact in your head) and the next 12 posts will be full of jackasses pointing out how you were WRONG or an IDIOT. Don't even try humor, 'cuz that's usually lost and a moderator will point out how misguided YOUR humor is. I stopped posting at one particular board because the owner got on me for not knowing my Christopher Cross songs (no, NOT the 1992 kiddie hip hop band...the 1980 soft rock dweeb).

For instance, if I were to say something like: "the Chicago Bears won the Super Bowl in 1985"...some dick will follow that up with "Wrong. They actually won it in January 1986". Junk like that just upsets people. And the remainder of the thread is guys apologizing, correcting or firing back.

When we mess around here or nitpick on a post, it seems in good spirit. I liked ragging Scrooge for Lynyrd Skynyrd and I liked getting ragged for my age.

Also, I don't think anyone pretends to be smarter than they actually are. I'm not saying we're idiots...we're just regular dudes. You've probably seen the message board fights where someone opens up the thesaurus, then tries to quote philosophy.

Suggestions: I know I've babbled about it before, but getting a URL would help some. If nothing else, it would help search engines direct traffic here...then, more people. 8 bucks a year and have it point to hxxP;s7.invisoinfre...blah blah. It's not much, but if you want to throw a party, the host usually has to buy at least one six-pack.

Oh yeah...and get some broads, too. But only if they're hot and have big thingies.

Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2006 10:22 PM (GMT)
I still can't believe I fucked up that Lynyrd Skynyd thing. (goes back inside to get some french benefits)

Mad Dog - January 10, 2006 05:23 AM (GMT)
I think this board benefits heavily from having older posters. The angst ridden 12 year olds ruin everything. I mean we have Last Free Voice but he's more like an emo board mascot than anything.

Big F'N Swigg - January 11, 2006 03:09 AM (GMT)
I think we're doing good. We just need to maintain the level of discussion we've had. Now that I'm learning Dreamweaver properly, I'll have the site up in about two months and we can go from there.

Honestly, I think we're better than most boards I've been to

Oy. Seriously, that's getting really old.

Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)
Emo jokes in reference to LFV are as old as me making fun of Samoa Joe for being fat. It probably annoys him like my jokes annoy others.

So who might be the "big 12"?

By the way, the only thing I don't like about this forum is the lack of some sports discussions and lack of video game talk.. Other than that, everything is good, even if Scrooge is a Yankee fan.

SamoaRowe - January 11, 2006 09:56 PM (GMT)
I would like to see more people doing EWR or just plain fantasy booking diaries.

Other than that, I'm pretty content.

Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2006 10:00 PM (GMT)
Off the top of my head, the DWB main posters...

1. Myself
2. DK
3. WMD
4. Rowe
5. Show
6. Plague
7. Jamiegeist(sp?)
8. Swiggy
9. Mad Dog
10. S.T.
11. ES
12. Choate
13. TehDoct0r
14. swmkelly13 (I suck at these names)

We seem to have a revolving door of minor posters, like Benoit is God, Wild Pegasus, and this new guy who posts his reviews. I'm sorry I don't know it off the top of my head yet. C3PHIR?

Edit: I forgot LFV.

jamiegeist - January 11, 2006 10:12 PM (GMT)
Whew, I thought maybe I wasn't gonna make that list. Glad to see I'm a "main guy".

I love coming here just to see whats up, with everyone. Whether it is wrestling, sports, movies, all that shit. Its great.

I'd like more interactive stuff. More polls and things of that nature. I don't have anything specific in mind.

I like lists, polls. Maybe we could do like a Best Tag Team of all time tournament, or something like that. I just seem to like fun little things like that.

Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2006 10:19 PM (GMT)
Having nearly 1,000 posts sounds main to me. Not everyone can be a whore like I am. :D That wasn't a list in terms of any kind of order of importance. It was just who I came up with first.

True. But nobody cares if they annoy LFV.

Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2006 10:38 PM (GMT)
Wait... did I forgot LFV in my list? :D

Mad Dog - January 11, 2006 10:42 PM (GMT)
It's all in good fun with LFV though. At least he didn't try to train his cats like Teddy Hart did.

The Last Free Voice - January 12, 2006 02:32 AM (GMT)
I'd post some EWR, but every time I try it falls apart on me, either because my fed tanks right away or I take too long writing it... Maybe I'll give it another go.

TheGreatWhiteChoate - January 20, 2006 05:03 PM (GMT)
I really like the atmosphere here....we have good discussions, but we can still be assholes and make fun of eachother at any time. If I was going to pinpoint an area of improvement, I'd like to see more discussion in the sports board, but I know that comes and goes. Overall, DWB is the shit.
