Batista injured
January 9, 2006

Sunday night at a SmackDown live event, World Heavyweight Champion Batista injured his triceps in a match against Mark Henry.

The extent of the injury is undetermined at this point. WWE.com will have more information on Batista's injury later today.

Hmm... now that's FOUR major injuries Batista has had in the last 3 years. Nice guy to put the #1 belt on, WWE.

Well, he's done a nicely in the ring for the past couple of months if you consider the fact he's been injured.

On a side note: I wonder if this adds-into the fact that Edge won the WWE title and the idea that Money in the Bank only applies to the World Heavyweight title idea.

Oh yeah, Edge is Champ now. Way to go WWE, BOTH of your World Champions are injured. And US Champion. And 1/2 of the Raw Tag Champs. And Cruiserweight Champ. And the IC Champ is an old broken down man. (shakes head) Oy vey.

Hahaha. I was about to make that point. So, Edge is definately still injured with a torn pec, or whatever it was?

Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2006 06:25 PM (GMT)
It's nothing serious, but it's still a painful injury to work through from what I've heard.

Well, as long as it does bother him a lot, and he can still wrestle with it - why not. Batista is injured, Edgie is injured, even Eddie was injured and still wrestling, some wrestlers have broken their necks and not even realized it until years later when they go to the doctor adn the doctor says, "Oh, by the way, you have a broken neck."

OK, seriously. NOTE TO WWE.........Put the fucking title on Mysterio.

For fucks sake.

Edge vs. Rey at WM?

Although we'd be more likely to see Edge vs. Michaels. :(

Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2006 06:47 PM (GMT)
Where did you get Edge vs. Rey from? Edge is RAW Champion, Rey is on Smackdown, and Rey isn't winning the Rumble. Even if he did, they've already got enough guys on Raw to challenge. Smackdown has very little people to begin with.

But if it turns out he does have to go for the World Heavyweight title, he'll be on SD.

It was very admirable of Batista to work through the pain this long, but it looks like the gig is up for him. He should drop the belt at the Royal Rumble in a quick match, not wrestle on tv or house shows leading up to that show, take several months off to rehab, and then come back as a challenger to the title, but never actually win it for long periods of time.

And I say put the title on Rey Mysterio as well.

Do NOT mention the Rumble. I'll kill myself if Henry gets a sympathy run.

Oh, in no way I was suggesting that Mark Henry should be the one who wins the title. I kind of forgot that he's the implied challenger for the Rumble, I was envisioning a Rey Mysterio jumping into the spot.

I just don't want to have to see Batista get strung along until No Way Out or later with a torn tricep and those back problems.

He's been with the company for a decade. May be he should get a run for even just a few weeks and drop it to Rey at the February PPV.

Yes, I don't want henry as champ either, for long term.

SamoaRowe - January 9, 2006 07:14 PM (GMT)
I don't want to see Mark Henry win a world title, even for five minutes.

Sure, he's been there for ten years, but he has spent more time on the injured list than anyone I can think of. That, and he never really got that over. He had a good little run in the Nation, had an okay tag team with D'Lo Brown, was involved in a creepy storyline with Mae Young, and last time around was building some steam being Theodore Long's newest representative in the war against white people.

I'd say his ten years worth of huge pay is enough of a prize.

Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2006 07:16 PM (GMT)
Mark Henry has been with WWE for 10 years. 10 YEARS.

Mark Henry's Title Reigns:
European Champion for 3 Weeks

prof_plague - January 9, 2006 07:27 PM (GMT)
Hey, if Edge can win the WWE title, anything in possible.

Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2006 07:29 PM (GMT)
Edge at one point of his career has shown he has talent. Mark Henry doesn't. I'm no Edge fan, but he's about 60,074 times better than Sexual Chocolate.

dynamite kido - January 9, 2006 07:30 PM (GMT)
Sexual Chocolate > you
