I agreee with these choices. Just to be on record.

Scrooge McSuck - January 8, 2006 09:17 AM (GMT)
Well, I know Tampa Bay lost. I fell asleep during Pats/Jags, so maybe you went 0 for 2.

Big F'N Swigg - January 8, 2006 07:45 PM (GMT)
I'm rooting for the Bengals. Everyone else can fuck off

Scrooge McSuck - January 8, 2006 08:46 PM (GMT)
Well, Giants got fucked today. So much for the 2005 Season.

jamiegeist - January 8, 2006 09:08 PM (GMT)
Fuck yeah. That Panthers ass-kicking was the shit. Nothing makes me happier than seeing disgruntled and pisses off New Yawkers sitting in the stands booing their own team.

Plus I'm 3 for 3. Just need the Bengals to play like they're capable of.

Scrooge McSuck - January 8, 2006 09:35 PM (GMT)
I think you're confusing New Yorkers with people from Bawston, who pronounce things like your sterotypical comment. The only stand-out new york accent is brooklyn, where er is oi for some reason.

Example: Herpies is Hoipies.

jamiegeist - January 8, 2006 10:26 PM (GMT)
Perhaps New Yaoiwkers would be more appropriate. Sorry.

jamiegeist - January 9, 2006 12:52 AM (GMT)
Jesus. I know Kitna isn't the starter......but does that mean he has to be a fuckin retard?

And what happened to the defense.

dynamite kido - January 9, 2006 01:21 AM (GMT)
4-0 this week bitches.

Oh, and the Steelers own your ass.

Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2006 06:50 AM (GMT)
Cincinnati lost too? OK, now I don't care who wins, as long as the Fagtriots get bumped off.

What did you expect? Although, Kitna was great as Private Pyle in "Full Metal Jacket".

whitemilesdavis - January 9, 2006 02:08 PM (GMT)
3-1...not too bad. I didn't think Washington could beat Tampa, but hey, all that matters is that the Panthers Super-bowl bandwagon is still chugging right along.

Yay you. Then you can sit on the Donkey Bandwagon for one week. Only requirement is that you can't shave or get a haircut.

Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2006 09:44 PM (GMT)
Fine. Thank God I shaved 2 days ago. :D

Big F'N Swigg - January 10, 2006 01:25 AM (GMT)
Everyone in Cincy is pissed off at the Steelers. They think Von Oelhoffen tweaked Palmer on purpose. What do you guys think?

jamiegeist - January 10, 2006 04:34 AM (GMT)
I don't think anyone in Cincy thinks that, and everyone knows it isn't true. If anyone in Cincy does think that, they're fuckin retarded.

Von Oelhoffen was being blocked, and barely fell into his knee, just at the wrong angle, especially for a 320 pound dude. He immediately let go, got up, and looked down, upset....then threw his hands in disgust, knowing he had hurt a young kid. He was obviously upset, didn't mean it, and even Palmer acknowledged it.

So no.

eStragand - January 10, 2006 05:35 AM (GMT)
Yup. What Jamie said. Legit hit. It wasn't premeditated. Anymore than Drew Brees' shoulder injury from Mt. Gerard Warren was.

If Dan Dierdorf had been on commentary, the local fans might not have been so upset about Palmer's injury. I could hear Dierdorf, in his false empathetic voice saying: "oh..this is a terrible remidner that this is a violent... game... and terrible.... terrible things like this happen.... our..our.. prayers are.. are with Pilmer...err, Palmer"

Scrooge McSuck - January 10, 2006 11:03 AM (GMT)
Anyone who thinks it was an intended to injure hit should stop being a crybaby.

... Damn you, Giants!!!! 23-0?!!? (cries)

Fuck Cincy. That's why they are a low rent no class organization..............and I'm now happy they haven't made the playoffs in the last 15 years.

Not to Chad Johnson and TJ - WE BEAT YOU GUYS WHEN PALMER PLAYED THE WHOLE GAME THIS YEAR ANYWAY................so don't dissappear when you backup QB gets in there and mayby you'll win a playoff game.

Big F'N Swigg - January 11, 2006 03:17 AM (GMT)
Actually, yeah, EVERYONE I've talked to thinks it was on purpose. This chick I work with swears that Von Oelhoffen tweaked his leg after looking up to see if he had the ball. Everyone I've talked to about it, except one person (Who was a minister), swears it up and down.

I myself didn't see the actual hit, and I thought it was odd that Van Oelhoffen didn't run down the field after. But then he said he heard the tendon pop, and I can't blame him for not running after that. It's nice to see that the whole flipping world doesn't think that it was a planned hit.

Honestly, though, I can't completely blame them. It's the first time in 15 years the city has had a football team worth something. At least they care.

dynamite kido - January 11, 2006 02:03 PM (GMT)
Too bad too, because I actually didn't mind the Bengals going into this season. Now, though..............fuck em. Low rent motherfuckers, they can watch my Steelers play the next round from their Sunday BBQ's.

eStragand - January 15, 2006 09:55 PM (GMT)
Edit/Update: Guess who's going to the AFC Championship game, here in Denver?!! Yup, me and my 30-5 Broncos record will be in attendance. Just got tickets in the top level of the North end zone!

Over the years, Pittsburgh's been the unofficial presenter of the AFC trophy. I mean, who else can we blame for sending Stan freakin' Humphires and the Chargers to the Super Bowl? This bodes well for the Donkies.

I smell a MASSIVE conspiracy with the Troy Polamolapapaoommowmow interception nullifciation. He had a clean pick and a fumble. Complete, utter bullshit. I think the president of CBS sports called down to the refs and said "mmmm, yeahhh...guys? We're gonna' have to make this run about...mmmm.. an extra half hour.... since we've got some more commericals lined up. So if you could just make sure the Colts still have the ball, that'd be super. Mm' kay? great".

Big F'N Swigg - January 15, 2006 11:47 PM (GMT)
Polamalu is phenomenal player. If half the league played as hard as he does, I'd never be angry with the NFL

jamiegeist - January 16, 2006 02:56 AM (GMT)
Man I hate Denver and Pittsburgh.

But dammit I respect them.

I wouldn't mind seeing either of them get a ring. Cowher and Bettis both deserve one, and even though I hate 52 other broncos, I do like Jake Plummer, and wouldn't mind him getting a ring either. Of course, that means I have to see Shanahan get gatoraded and hold the trophy....BAH!

Go Panthers!

TheGreatWhiteChoate - January 17, 2006 06:10 AM (GMT)
*flushes ten bucks bet on Colts down the drain

Go Seahawks!

eStragand - January 17, 2006 11:05 PM (GMT)
So gimme your picks for this weekend. You know who I'm picking in the AFC. I haven't watched much of the Seahawks or Panthers this year... but I'll take the Panthers in a toss-up.

But, it'd be funny if the Donkies get to the Super Bowl and meet their old bitches, the Seahawks.

whitemilesdavis - January 18, 2006 02:18 AM (GMT)
Well, I was 3-1 again this week, the Patriots being my only miscue.

Of course, I'm sticking with my pre-season prediction: Panthers and Steelers.

I will admit, Foster breaking his leg is a MAJOR set-back for my cats.

jamiegeist - January 18, 2006 02:32 AM (GMT)
Nick Goings is DA MAN though. And he is on my postseason fantasy team..so thats a good thing.

I've been thinking lately, as a Chiefs fan, about how Seattle was defected to be the defection to the NFC Shit, er West. Was it geographical? I wouldn't understand why, since nothing else makes sense geographically.

Basically you took a team out of historically one of toughest and best divisions of all time, the AFC West, and stuck it into a one-team division, that one team being the Niners, who haven't been shit since the time the Seahawks were shoved in.

I'm just having dreams of NFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs sneaking into my head. It isn't fair! Seattle will lose to Carolina, Shaun Alexander or not.

eStragand - January 18, 2006 03:45 AM (GMT)
Wow..this is a new one to me: a Chefs fan longing for the NFC so they can backdoor into a significant postseason appearance. A franchise that hasn't won a postseason game since former Mervyn's spokesman Joe Montana was at the helm.

But you can relax: they still would've been ordinary if they had switched conferences. Or as the Chefs radio guy would say: "Missed Playoffs! KANNN-ZASSS CITY!!"

Still going with Seahawks and Steelers.

S.T. Strickler - January 18, 2006 04:57 PM (GMT)
Going with Seahawks and Broncos. Steelers ain't gonna win; haven't done so in 10 years.

Big F'N Swigg - January 18, 2006 05:37 PM (GMT)
Of all four teams still in it, I'm going for the Steelers

Don't be a hater biotch............see you in Detroit.

eStragand - January 18, 2006 06:44 PM (GMT)
Well, since Cowher came onboard in '92, Pittsburgh's been the unoffical presenter of the AFC Trophy. Chargers: here you are. Broncos: here you are. Patriots: here you are and come again. Oh wait..they beat JIM HARBAUGH and the Colts to actually win one.

Ribbing aside, if Denver can't go to the Super Bowl, I'm perfectly happy with Pittsburgh going.
