Title: The Current Jarrett Storyline

Mad Dog - December 27, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
This shit is just screaming for a Christian/Sting/Rhino/Dudleys vs. Jarrett/AMW/Abyss/Brown wargames match at a PPV.

The Last Free Voice - December 27, 2005 11:11 PM (GMT)
I could see that happening. I don't know how well they'd be able to pull it off, because ultimately it'd be "STING vs. JARRETT... with some other shumucks." The first time they did "War Games" only stands out to me because of Punk and Julio's turning on Raven, and the camera totally missing Punker's cage dive, so I don't know if they'd be able to work it this time.

jamiegeist - December 27, 2005 11:25 PM (GMT)
They've done Wargames before? Like, real wargames with a double cage?

I thought Wargames was dead and gone, but if there is any chance of me seeing it......that gets me jacked.

The Last Free Voice - December 27, 2005 11:28 PM (GMT)
No, it was the bastard one cage version.

Scrooge McSuck - December 27, 2005 11:55 PM (GMT)
Yeah, they did the bastard version (and it REALLY sucked). MLW did a somewhat realistic WarGames, except the cages didn't have a roof. It was Funk/Sandman/Dr. Death/Sabu vs. Corino/Diamond/C.W. Anderson/P.J. Walker/Windham

Mad Dog - December 28, 2005 12:01 AM (GMT)
No wonder MLW went out of business. Running that match probably cost them 100k at least.

It should also be mentioned that it's one of the worst matches in the history of the sport.

I really hope that TNA doesn't go the WarGames route unless they use the two cages.

The Last Free Voice - December 28, 2005 01:11 AM (GMT)
I really liked MLW, when it was on the Sunshine net, just because it seemed like a cross between ROH (Which I hadn't really gotten into at the time) and TNA (which I was pretty much blindly marking for. I always loved the Extreme Horsemen stable. I don't know why. Wasn't MLW supposed to be coming back for a fourth version?

Could two rings FIT in the Impact Zone?

Scrooge McSuck - December 28, 2005 01:50 AM (GMT)
TNA's current place (the shithole in Univeral Studios) barely holds 1 ring. How the hell can you do a WarGames with the 2 crappy 6-sided rings?

MLW ruled, until they started using more unknowns instead of a blend of unknowns, Indy stars, and veterans. And started booking like ECW (the World Title changing hands twice in a matter of minutes when Awesome def. Kojima and then Corino def. Awesome).

The Last Free Voice - December 28, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
Oh fuck, I agree with Scrooge. I need to re-assess my opinion.

I Kid. I still hold out hope for MLW 4, however.

Scrooge McSuck - December 28, 2005 02:47 AM (GMT)
I don't. MLW kinda sucked after September-October 2003. They should let it go, unless they can bring back the old formula used for the first 18 months instead of bringing in everyone that was working for ROH that common fans like myself never heard of. Who the hell was Puma (or whatever) anyway? And why did they use two Matt Strikers?

The Last Free Voice - December 28, 2005 05:33 AM (GMT)
Puma was one of the Havana Pitbulls in CMLL and on the West coast. He got quite the following over there, I believe.

And no clue why they would use Two Stri(y)kers. I don't really like either of them.
