Title: Wrestlers You Can't Stand In The Ring
Mad Dog - December 12, 2005 04:56 PM (GMT)
CW "Everything I do is a second rate imitation of Arn" Anderson
Low "What's selling?" Ki
Ace "RoHbots hype me up as the second coming despite how painfully average I am in the ring" Steel
SAT: I don't have a witty one liner for them. Generally it's not good when you're a high flyer team that completely blows up after a few minutes in the ring. Plus they blow more spots than a $2 whore.
Carlito: How this guy gets so much love is beyond me. Ok, he's good on the mic. Have you seen how awful he is in the ring. The rumor that he has to hold back in the ring is a bullshit myth because I've seen him several times with no limits and he was just as awful.
Scrooge McSuck - December 12, 2005 04:59 PM (GMT)
Honestly, I can't fucking stand Shawn Michaels, now matter how much everyone blows him as the greatest wrestler ever. If I had the chance to watch 2 hours of Shawn Michaels and 5,000 hours of the Michael Hayes/Jimmy Garvin version of the Fabulous Freebirds, I'd take the Freebirds in a heart beat.
Agreed on the SAT's/Maximos & Red/Whatever name they go by.
C.M. Punk. I've never seen a more average wrestler get so much praise, except for the guy I mentioned at the top of the list.

The moderately selling UnderTaker. OK, fine: UnderSeller. I don't have a better one, and that one has been used enough as it is.

I can find the good in just about anybody, but I really can't stand Jeff Hardy. At all. Hiedenreich as well, I suppose. Snitsky is pretty worthless. And I don't get the appeal of Necro Butcher either.

Seriously, I know it's your opinion. I used to feel the same way about Necro Butcher, until I saw him in NON hardcore stuff. You may be surprised, he can actually go.
Scrooge McSuck - December 12, 2005 08:52 PM (GMT)
I may get heat for saying this, but Heidenreich has improved since last year. At least now I don't turn off his matches when he's on Smackdown.
Mad Dog - December 12, 2005 09:00 PM (GMT)
Eh,
I think Necro Butcher is overrated. Smarks get a boner whenever he breaks out of his deathmatch shit and. He's ok, I would never buy or not buy something based on his appearance on it.
EDIT: Definately way better than any of the garbage hardcore guys from the late 90s/early 00s. That's not saying much though.

I agree. His match with Joe was awesome, but it's with Joe.
For me, I'd say Billy Gunn. No explanation needed.

Does the Joe match count as non-hardcore? Cause I really didn't like that as a match. It has some entertaining moments, but the only reason its entertaining is because it looks like Necro really has absolutely no clue what he's doing. Like the "exploder to the floor." Absolutely insane, but not because it looked good. And I don't even consider the guy sloppy, it just looks like he legit doesn't know what's going on. To be sloppy, you have to know what it's supposed to look like. I dunno, even the other grabage brawlers like Corp Robinson, Ian Rotten, JC Bailey.... I don't like them, but they look like wrestlers every once in awhile, they appear to have a grasp on what they're trying to do..... Necro just looks like a homeless guy getting his ass beat. Maybe that is his appeal, its just not my cup of tea. I respect the fact that he's quite literally killing himself for my entertainment, I'm just not sure it always entertains me.
I've met the man on a few occasions, and he's one of the nicest, most sensible, down-to-earth guys I've ever met in wrestling. I really like him as a person. He's just not my favorite worker. (Unlike, say, Low-Ki, who I love as a heel, but seems like an unbearable prick in person).
Scrooge McSuck - December 13, 2005 12:29 AM (GMT)
Doc, don't be sorry you don't like someone. It's natural. I credit my lack of liking everything these days to the "I've seen it all a million times before", and thus latch onto my favorite wrestlers of the past and go from there.
Colcollazo - December 13, 2005 01:27 AM (GMT)
Shawn has been bashed so much it's to the point where he's actually underrated. Sure has his flaws, but then again all workers do. HBK's only real big problems with me is he's a really bad long term seller, he can't sell any of his limbs believably for too long and he always gets into brawls during his work where realistically, he'd get his ass whooped.
Carlito, hmm, he was at his best when he first debuted back in 04, as he had two good matches with Cena and Rey in October/November when he was US Champ, but this whole year he's been really..I can't put my finger on it, uninteresting. Not much he's done in his work this has been interesting at all. Nothing he's in has been past ** this year from what I've seen, besides the Shelton match from Vengeance and the second match he had with Michaels on Raw. Haven't seen the Flair matches, but I hear they're good, especially the one on Raw after Unforgiven.
Anyways, I can't stand the WWE muscle/green freaks from OVW. Of course, they are all fuckin terrible.
Scrooge McSuck - December 13, 2005 01:30 AM (GMT)
I don't really care how good or bad HBK is (he's a great "entertainer", a bad "wrestler", and his selling sucks). I just don't like him. I don't have a real reason (or a good reason). I just never liked him, dating back to his Rocker days. He can have a good match, but I won't be tempted to watch them, because I don't like him.
I think I'm a little overboard with using the same 4 words all the time. :(
Colcollazo - December 13, 2005 01:33 AM (GMT)
Oh I don't like him either. But I admit he's beginning to become underrated cause he's hated on a bit too much.
Scrooge McSuck - December 13, 2005 01:38 AM (GMT)
There's no middle man in an HBK argument. You either blindly defend everything he does or blindly hate whatever he does. I'm the latter, and a proud card-carrying member of the group.
Colcollazo - December 13, 2005 01:44 AM (GMT)
What does that make a person who really doesn't like Michaels but still enjoys his work?
Scrooge McSuck - December 13, 2005 01:51 AM (GMT)
Hmm... OK, so there is a middle of the road, but they tend to not get into arguments over it.
TehDoct0r - December 13, 2005 02:17 AM (GMT)
I love Shawn in the ring :D
Colcollazo - December 13, 2005 02:31 AM (GMT)
That would complete the triangle.
prof_plague - December 13, 2005 02:36 AM (GMT)
Shawn Michaels is like Triple H, they both cocky bastard out of the ring who use political power to manipulate other wrestlers, the business, and they're own characters, angles, and storylines...but they entertain in the ring.
Scrooge McSuck - December 13, 2005 02:37 AM (GMT)
The Triangle... of TERROR?!?!?!

Basically sums it all up.
TehDoct0r - December 13, 2005 03:11 AM (GMT)
The difference is, Trips doesnt entertain me nearly as much or as often as Shawn does.
