Apparently Shelton Benjamin’s character will be heading in a new direction, with some help. WWE put out a casting call looking for someone to play, “Shelton Benjamin’s Mamma.” The woman needs to follow these requirements: Female. African American, 50-60 years old, heavy set, good personality, willing to travel and portray the character for 3-6 months.

Mom angles never go anywhere. See Judy Bagwell. Good thing is they may finally have a way to use Mark Henry.

In wrestling, yes.... but the Chunky soup/Donovan McNabb's mom angle seems to be doing okay.

Although I'd contend that "Mama Cornette" while never seen, was a good angle.

I just remembered something... I demand the return of Ernest Miller's theme where a guy sings "somebody call my momma" over and over again.

You know, I actually like Shelton Benjamin. I will now shoot myself in the head.

Seriously, though. Has there ever been a "Mama" angle that's really worked?

(thinks)

Nope. Knowing WWE, they'll have Shelton call his mother "mammy."

:sings "Oh my mammy down in Alabammy...":

I expect no-one to understand that reference.

And to think, I thought things were going to bounce back from the way his past couple of matches went with Angle and from the last Raw's ending with Benjamin and Michaels.

Oh no...I just remember that there's rumour that he's supposed to feud with Murdoch. ...Oh boy.
