Dave says that in 1996 the plan was in place to move the title from Flair to the Giant in a tag match (which happened) then Giant was to losr to Beniot via crossface tap out leading to a 3 way fued with Eddy vs Beniot vs Giant. This would be just before the NWO came about.

Paul Heyman's original plan in 1995 was to have Beniot win the ECW title and go on a long run culminating with ECW's 1st PPV in Jan 1996 headlined by Beniot vs Eddy

In 1998 in El Paso (Eddy's hometown) WCW Prez Eric B. got into an argument with Eddy and tossed coffee at him. Relations were strained for months after.

Eddy would get drunk very often and did GHB with Jericho among others.

Eddy once was drunk/angry and tried shooting on Kurt Angle in the locker room. Angle took him down and smothered him til it was broken up.

-I doubt the 1996 Eddy/Benoit/Giant stuff is true. First, Giant did not beat Flair in a tag match. He beat him in a one-on-one match, cleanly, with the chokeslam. The previous week, the two had been in a tag match against Hogan and Savage, where Woman acidentally nailed Giant with coffee. Sounds like smark retro fantasy booking. "and..and..and then Benoit-Regal would've headlined Slamboree...and and then Owen Hart was supposed to jump and feud with Benoit and Jushin Liger for the title...."

I remember hearing stuff about this in 1996 so I'm sure there IS truth to it. But I believe that the whole plan was actually do something were the belt would end up with Benoit, Eddie, and then end up with The Giant with it again.
