Title: RoH Contenders

Let's go for something different for once. If you were RoH how would you determine the no.1 contender. Would you go back to the clusterfuck of the contenders trophy, go with the petitions, fan ballots at shows or some other means.

I would just do what WWE does... randomly decide who gets the shot based on who's over at that point in time :P '
Just kidding, I'd actually just go by win/loss records, since that would be more smark friendly and it would make them have to put more thought into match results.

I dunno. It's a smark fed, so they can buy pretty much anyone as contenders as long as they can go. I think the way they're doing things now is fine.

This also makes it easier to get marks involved. You can tell them that "wrestler X" is getting a title shot that night because he's won more matches than the other wrestlers. Instant legitimacy as long as they don't say "But it's all fake, right?"

I like the idea of the No.1 Contenders Trophy but the idea needs fleshed out a lot. They need to figure out a way to do it without having a tournament every other show.

Everytime they need to pass it on they should just do a 10 minute segment on the show and they can present it to the new number #1 contender. That would work for me.....

I think when it's vacated just have the top 2 contenders wrestle for it. Or even have the last two guys that fought for the title wrestle for the trophy. The problem originally was you had guys just debuting in these tournaments for the trophy. It made no sense.

I agree with having the top two contenders go at it for the vacant trophy. Work it in with the Top Five rankings. They REALLY need to flesh out the Top 5 system, perhaps putting up a little bio of each guy and WHY they're at that spot. (I seem to vaugely recall them doing this at one point...) Such as
Austin Aries- #2 Contender- Has won three matches in a row with a strong showing in Cage match blahblahblah....

Keeping W-L records and doing a power rankings system on the site would solve that easily.
