Taue won with a new finisher of his, a modified nodowa otoshi of sorts. I'll update with any new information later. Taue was formally challenged by Akiyama for the title, and said that he was too tired to consider it at that moment but would think about it tomorrow.

Looks like a very good show worthy of a purchase. Matches 6-9 look especially good.

I'm worried about NOAH to be honest. They haven't built any new stars. If something happened to Misawa, Kobashi or Taue or they retired they'd be totally screwed.

They'll survive. They have enough of a built in audience at this point and they would just have to make a few minor shifts to account for their losses. Although they would have to scrap doing Dome shows..............but they would easily stay afloat.

Real F'n Show - December 5, 2005 06:24 PM (GMT)
Exactly. Plus, they've got no real competition. Shiozaki's gonna be good, as is Nakajima who's only 17. Plus they'd still have Akiyama.

They haven't done shit with Akiyama in a long time though. I doubt he'll ever be a top of the card guy again.

He'll eventually work his way upcard again...............when they need him to be there.

I fuckin love Akiyama. He's probably my favorite puro guy.

He's the MVP of about 3 World Tag League's that I've seen. When Akiyama's on, he's incredible. Too bad "on" hasn't been since the Dome show match last year vs. Kobashi.

Agreed. A motivated Akiyama is top 20 in the world, but when they've done nothing with you, it's hard to stay motivated. He's awesome as a grumpy bastard, though.

I'll be honest though, the one thing I DON'T like about Akiyama lately is the grumpy stuff. I always liked him as the young underdog, but I guess without him being "young" anymore he has to go a different route. I just wish he was fighting more at the top of the cards.

I liked him as a young underdog in the world of the big four in AJPW too, no doubt, but I think it's time for him to move on. Guys like Go Shiosaki can fill that role perfectly now. Plus I'm a sucker for grumpy bastards like Tenryu anyway.

I agree. Though I have to be honest in that I thought he'd go in the pretty boy ass kind of direction instead of the grumpy direction.
