Mad Dog - November 28, 2005 08:43 PM (GMT)
You know this thread was coming. Ok propose what categories you want. The ones included so far:

Match of the Year:
Wrestler of the Year:
Rookie of the Year:
Comeback Wrestler of the Year:
Tag Team of the Year:

SamoaRowe - November 28, 2005 09:36 PM (GMT)
Feud of the year.

Pay-per-view of the year.

Mad Dog - November 28, 2005 09:46 PM (GMT)
Company of the Year.

Real F'n Show - November 28, 2005 10:08 PM (GMT)
Better make it Show of the Year rather than PPV, for ROH and such.

Also Most Improved and Move/Spot of the Year.

Mad Dog - November 28, 2005 10:20 PM (GMT)
Spot/move might be kind of hard to do. I'd honestly need a list.

Real F'n Show - November 28, 2005 11:01 PM (GMT)
hmm...

HBK asai moonsault onto the announce table - WM
Low Ki/Homicide ghetto stomp/cop killah combo - Manhattan Mayhem
Samoa Joe turnbuckle powerbomb - Kobashi vs. Joe
Sasaki northern lights bomb on the floor - NOAH 7/18
AJ Styles sunset flip powerbomb off the cage - TNA Lockdown
Jeff Hardy swanton off the stage - TNA Bound for Glory
Shelton Benjamin springboards into superkick - Raw vs. HBK
Benoit's sick tope from Smackdown about a month ago

just a few off the top of my head...

Mad Dog - November 29, 2005 12:38 AM (GMT)
I think Hardy gets that nod with ease.

It was interesting to see, but I was completely impressed by it.

dynamite kido - November 29, 2005 12:51 AM (GMT)
Best Champion of 2005

Best Champion of 2005

We should do one for each of the major three promotions (and any others people follow), and then do one overall.

Mad Dog - November 29, 2005 01:11 AM (GMT)
The Hardy bump on first glance isn't totally impressive but then when you catch some of the different angles and see the distance he had to clear to not kill himself on the stage it becomes a very different spot IMO.

Scrooge McSuck - November 29, 2005 01:29 AM (GMT)
I say Best PPV. Best Show is just aching for indy shows only 3 people have seen here. Best PPV and Best Show should be seperate categories to avoid hearing me bitch anymore.

Define rookie of the year. :P

Mad Dog - November 29, 2005 01:37 AM (GMT)
I think best show is fine. It would be between NOAH's July dome show and a TNA PPV if we did that. RoH didn't do any good top to bottom shows this year.

Scrooge McSuck - November 29, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
Oh, then OK. :)

I void my vote already for that category, since I haven't watched many (entire) big event that deserve recognition from any certain promotion.

(plans to rig the voting of everything else) :D

I suggest Most Underrated Wrestler, since I know we all have our guilty favorites everyone else is too blind to like.

Manhattan Mayhem says hi. Other than NOAH 7/18, this is the best overall show I've seen this year.

Scrooge McSuck - November 29, 2005 03:36 AM (GMT)
Well there you go Mad Dog. :D

Mad Dog - November 29, 2005 03:50 AM (GMT)
Ok, so I forgot about that one.

The Last Free Voice - November 29, 2005 05:35 PM (GMT)
PWN3D!

Sorry, had to do it. How about "Breakout Star" of the year? Not nessicarily rookie, but someone who made the most waves?

eStragand - November 29, 2005 06:02 PM (GMT)
I am ignoring these "Awards" out of protest. Due to the fact that there is no "Best Little Fucker/Midget" category.

prof_plague - November 29, 2005 06:22 PM (GMT)
Most Popular
Overall Best Wrestler of the Year
Most Inspirational

OK then.

Best in the Junior Division. :P

Scrooge McSuck - November 29, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
Inspirational is a crap award unless someone actually did something. Who will win it this year? No one.

And "Overall Best Wrestler" is fancy talk for "Wrestler of the Year."

Mad Dog - November 29, 2005 09:52 PM (GMT)
Ok so here's what I think I'm going to do. Starting tomorrow I'll post the list of the categories and then you'll PM me your ballots. Then starting the 10th of December I will post a winner or two a day until we finally get to Wrestler of the Year.

Sound like a plan?

I disagree completely. Wrestler of the year would be someone like Cena (who's been a constant main eventer, had the belt since Mania etc etc), but Overall Best Wrestler would be say..........someone like Samoa Joe or Kobashi who've been consistantly good all year IN THE RING.

These aren't who I'd vote for, I was just stating an example.

The Last Free Voice - November 30, 2005 12:26 AM (GMT)
What would the point of the "Wrestler of the Year" one be, though? I mean, we're not PWI who have to maintain some shred of Kayfabe... Do any of us really care who was "on top" for most of the year?

SamoaRowe - November 30, 2005 12:37 AM (GMT)
I say we just do "Wrestler of the Year." We can rationalize our decisions however we feel, whether we want to look at the kayfabe side of things or just base it on who put on the best matches.

prof_plague - November 30, 2005 01:18 AM (GMT)
Then may be a Most Popular, and Wrestler of the Year?

Real F'n Show - November 30, 2005 02:03 AM (GMT)
Most Inspirational would go to Eddie...

Scrooge McSuck - November 30, 2005 02:23 AM (GMT)
This isn't a kayfabed list, so a shit wrestler being Wrestler of the Year shouldn't happen. I'm voting for Benoit.... or someone else that has no chance in hell(fire and brimstone).

You mean someone like Kane?

Scrooge McSuck - November 30, 2005 02:31 AM (GMT)
No, I mean Orlando Jordan.

Real F'n Show - November 30, 2005 03:19 AM (GMT)
Benoit's had a pretty bad year by his standards. HBK, Joe, Kobashi, and AJ Styles have all had better years.

Scrooge McSuck - November 30, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
I vote for Styles then, since I've seen nothing but Joe squashes, haven't seen anything of Kobashi, and we all know my opinion on HBK, and my blind hatred of the jerk makes me never vote for him.
