Title: Favorite Survivor Series PPV's?
Description: Countdown to the 2005 edition

Figured since Survivor Series is three days away that this would fitting. Here's my ranking of the Survivor Series.

1989
1990
1993

With these three I dunno in which order I should rank them. But they're definately the three best ever imo.

4. 1991
- First title win for the Undertaker happens here, along with 3 very fun elimination matches and 1 stinker undercard match (Duggan's team vs Mustafa's team).

5. 1988
- Great 10 tag teams match along with the great main event.

6. 1998
- Such a fun card, very fun tournament, first title win for The Rock.

7. 1987
- First card and it was a stacked one, all 5 man teams with all the matches being solid.

8. 1996
- One of the best matches in company history happen here between Bret and Austin and HBK gets Sid to an amazing match. Rock also debuts here.

9. 2002
- Solid card with a fun elimination chamber match, a fun Show vs Brock match (crowd heat was crazy), first WWE appearance of Scott Steiner (though he would be buried just about a half a year later), along with a good 3 way between the SmackDown! 6.

10. 1992
- Good main event, good tag team match between Perfect/Macho and Flair/Razor, a fun opener between High Energy and the Headshrinkers and a solid Tatanka/Martel match. Too bad there wasn't quite enough star power due to Mountie, Bulldog and Warrior being fired two weeks earlier.

11. 1995
- Great main event match with Bret carrying Nash to the best match of his career. Pretty good Wildcard Survivor Series match and it features the return of the Undertaker. Too bad that match was bad and so was the rest of the card that night.

12. 2000
- Some underrated stuff on this card like Kane/Jericho, Rock/Rikishi, Angle/Taker and HHH/Austin. Solid card.

13. 2001
- Very nice, long main event match and a decent Edge/Test match, otherwise it's a boring ppv.

14. 1994
- Bret carries a way past his prime Backlund to a good match, the opening match is also real good. Everything else pretty much shit.

15. 2003
- Pretty much only the Team Austin vs Team Bischoff match is worth watching as it's great. It's a shame the SmackDown! elimination match was booked so bad.

16. 2004
- Only two solid match on the card with the main event and Shelton vs Christian.

17. 1997
- Sadly, there's so much needless shit. Unfortunately Owen vs Austin was real short and only Bret vs HBK was good up until the obvious of course.

18. 1999
- Just a bad, bad card, EVERYTHING IS SHIT, these are some of the worst Survivor Series elimination matches, bad, bad card.

Hard to do, but I'll try.. (didn't watch 2004, so can't comment)

1. 1988 - Personal favorite, but everything is good-great.
2. 1996 - See 1995, except replace Goldust/Bigelow with that lame ass match before the main event.
3. 1995 - Outside of Goldust/Bigelow, this was an awesome fucking PPV.
4. 1987 - See 1988.
5. 1993 - Fun show top to bottom, even if the workrate was low.
6. 2002 - Nothing to comment really. Good show, period.
7. 1989 - Too much of a hit or miss show.
8. 1990 - Too rushed, but another personal favorite, so it's boosted.
9. 1992 - Outside of the 2 main events, a shitty show.
10. 1998 - The storylines were great, but everything was rushed.
11. 2003 - Good show throughout, but ruined by McMahonMania XX.
12. 1991 - Good opener, crap rest.
13. 1994 - A couple of good matches, but the crap level is too high.
14. 1997 - Nothing at all memorable about this except the screwjob.
15. 2000 - Meh...
16. 1999 - Top to bottom crap with zero stand out matches and the worst bait-and-switch ever.

I disagree on the following comments...

1998 - the matches sucked other than Mankind/Austin.

1996 - Shawn didn't carry anything. 5 minutes into the match when he wasn't getting cheered, he brought that match into slow-motion, forcing Sid to do all the stand out work.

1991 - Boring as hell crap after the opener.

2002 - Scott Steiner in the WWF this late in his career isn't a positive.

Oh I didn't say any on that card was good in terms of work. Just a really entertaining show.

And what stand out work did Sid do in the match? All he did was react nicely to heat HBK was getting. HBK even fed Sid that great finish by going out to help Jose Lothario.

Hogan vs Taker was solid and way above par for 1991 Undertaker matches, and the Nasties/Beverlies vs Rockers/Bushwhackers and Bossman/LOD vs IRS/Disasters matches were fun.

No, it wasn't a positive, but I sure as hell marked the fuck out when he came out.
