WWE.com has posted some cryptic note in regards to Eugene.
Apparently, Eugene was rushed to the hospital yesterday in Manchester. Then after he was released from the hospital, he was sent home back to the states and he's been suspended indefinately. Also note, WWE is calling him by his real name in the headline, so it looks like this isn't some storyline.
According to reports, he wrestled Rob Conway yesterday at the Manchester show. It was said to be a comedy match in which he lost. Nothing else was noted. So whatever happened with Eugene, it was outside the ring.
Anyways, here is the message from WWE.com. More details will be revealed shortly.

Umm, yeah. I've seen this elsewhere. Totally don't understand WWE putting that on their page when it's obvious what the implications are.

He probably realized the character sucks and has been breaking kayfabe at every chance he can.
whitemilesdavis - November 18, 2005 08:04 PM (GMT)
Which landed him in the hospital?
Scrooge McSuck - November 18, 2005 08:13 PM (GMT)
Well, he was suspended for something. Maybe he bladed against orders, or has an infection from steroid injections?
whitemilesdavis - November 18, 2005 09:21 PM (GMT)
Obviously some type of drug overdose.

May be when he returns he'll drop the Eugene gimmick, and come-back as Nick Dinsmore, same sort of character, new gimmick.
And by character I mean in the context that he became a wrestler because he grew up as a fan, but instead of acting as Eugene, he wants to use that background to becomes a serious wrestler.
Scrooge McSuck - November 18, 2005 11:18 PM (GMT)
Just slap a mask on him and call his character "El Jobbero", since WWE had no interest in bringing him up from OVW until he came up with the Eugene gimmick.
Real F'n Show - November 18, 2005 11:55 PM (GMT)
Maybe he got hurt and broke character on the way to the hospital, thus leading to the suspension...
Sounds like something WWE would do.

Maybe when he was rushed to the hospital he wasn't adhering to their dress code.
Makes sense to me.

I could imagine that now if everyone at the hospital thought his gimmick was real:
Nurse: Mr. Dinsmore, we just got your records sent to us. And it says your name is Nick, but you came to us as Eugene? Do we have the right paper work?
Dinsmore: Yeah, you do.
Nurse: Should we call you Nick, or Eugene?
Dinsmore: Eugene!!!
Nurse: How did you ever get that nickname?
Dinsmore: That was the name Uncle Eric called me when we used to watch wrestling when I was little.
Nurse: You speak so well for someone who is mentally challenged.

Maybe he took one too many pain killers and topped it off with a couple beers.

The Judy Garland effect?
whitemilesdavis - November 20, 2005 03:29 AM (GMT)
Or the WWE effect, whatever you prefer to call it.

Well, he didn't break character, because this is one of the most retarded things he could have done.
