BACKSTAGE…

Petey Williams is pissed. He got screwed last week when Austin Aries pulled the tights. He talked to Piper afterwards last week, and the X Division tournament entry is on the line. Aries is going to learn not to cross Petey Williams.

Match # 1: John Walters vs. Johnny Jeter vs. Nigel McGuiness vs. J.R. Ryder-*½

This match is for a shot at the NWA World Television Title. J.R. Ryder tries to get the crowd involved by clapping his hands. Nigel walks over and acts as if he’s never been taught how to clap. He starts clapping, and then says to the ref “Oh my god, is that your wife?” The ref looks away and Nigel low blows Ryder and follows it with a roll up. The ref starts the count and Ryder is eliminated. Walters is going to protest, but Johnny Jeter attacks him. Nigel joins in. They double team Walters, and they end up throwing him to the outside. Jeter smiles, and compliments Nigel, who offers Jeter a handshake. Jeter, forgetting that Nigel is also heel, shakes Nigel’s hand. Big Mistake, as Nigel kicks him in the stomach and delivers the Guvnor’s Crumpet. Jeter is now eliminated. Nigel points to his head to show how smart he is. Walters sneaks in behind him and delivers a neck breaker. The fans are happy. Walters takes in some good face offense. Nigel slips outside the ring and falls to the floor. Walters hops out to catch up, and leans down to pick up Nigel. What he doesn’t know, though he should, is that Nigel pulled something from under the ring. So Walters gets clocked with… AN IRON? Nigel rolls him back in the ring and gets the 1-2-3. Which means that he’s going to the NWA World Television Title tournament.

WINNER: Nigel McGuinness

BACKSTAGE…

Benoit has the microphone, and he’s got something to ask Chris Jericho. Just one question, and that’s all he really needs to say. Here’s the question: How did it feel to TAP OUT? Hold on, let’s rephrase that: How did it feel to tap out last week? Since, you know, it was the SECOND time that Jericho tapped. Was it worse the second time? Better? Know one thing, Jericho, it won’t be the last time.

Match # 2: Bobby Roode vs. Samoa Joe vs. Ace Steel-**

This is the first of two Triple Threat matches for a chance at the NWA United States title. This match was TOUGH. All three of these guys beat the tar and feathers off of the other. Roode was the first to get eliminated, and it came at the hands of Samoa Joe and a triangle choke. Steel and Joe went back and forth for a while, but Steel doesn’t have the Stamina to outlast Joe in a brawl, and Joe takes the victory.

WINNER: Samoa Joe

BACKSTAGE….

Jericho is standing in a doorway yelling at his personal assistant. He backs out of the door and bumps into Jeff Hardy, who happens to be walking down the hall with his headphones on. Jericho shoves him and Hardy tries to apologize. Jericho replies with “You’re damn straight you’re sorry!” Hardy tells him to relax. Jericho tells him that he’ll relax, after he kicks Hardy’s ass in the ring TONIGHT!

Match # 3: Petey Williams vs. Austin Aries-***1/4

Williams is a bit peeved about Aries pulling the tights last week, and he lets it show as he tears into Aries before the bell even rings. All goes well for him until Aries tosses him over the top rope to the floor. Williams lands with a thud, and the crowd reacts accordingly. Aries comes off the ropes as if he’s going to deliver a suicide dive, but stops short and taunts the crowd by saying “You’d like that wouldn’t you?” Williams takes the advantage and pulls Aries outside of the ring.

Aries tries to scurry back into the ring, and Williams throws him into the barricade. Aries falls to the floor and Williams goes for an INSANE Asai Moonsault off of the barricade. He connects, but not before Aries could get his knees up. Aries rolls Williams back into the ring and starts some resthold work. Williams refuses to take a break, though and throws Aries into the ropes. Great dropkick by Williams, who takes Aries to the corner for a plate of chops. Williams takes Aries up top, and from out of nowhere comes JIM E. CORNETTE!!! The ref tells Cornette that he can’t be at ringside and Cornette claims to be with Aries. This allows Aries to hit Williams in the no-no spot. Williams falls to the mat and Aries hit’s the 450 Splash to again cheat Williams out of a win.

WINNER: Austin Aries

BACKSTAGE…

Matt Hardy shakes his head. “My Goodness, Jeff. Look at what’s already happened to you. I leave you alone for a few weeks and you’re already getting yourself into situations that you can’t handle.”

Styles: Who said he couldn’t handle Jericho? I’m not saying that.

Taz: I think Matt did, Joey.

Matt looks at the camera. “Now you know, it’s up to me to make sure that you don’t get into too much trouble. Thanks a lot. Like I don’t have better things to do than watch out for you. This could be the last time I ever stick up for you. I hope you know that.”

Match # 4: Rhino vs. Chad Collyer vs. Alex Shelley-**¼

The winner of this match will face Samoa Joe for a shot at the WA United States Title. The match starts out the way everyone would expect, with Rhino dominating. He overpowers both Shelley and Collyer, throwing Shelley out of the ring. Collyer does his best to not get clobbered, but Rhino is working HARD to to crush him. The spot of note comes as Collyer is leaning on the ropes. Rhino sets up for the gore, and Shelley has a chair on the outside. Rhino charges in, Collyer leaps out of the way just as Shelley was swinging the chair to hit Collyer in the back. You know what he hits? Rhino going full speed. Rhino should be thankful, though, because otherwise he would’ve hit the floor. He can’t be too thankful, though, as Collyer covers him. Rhino is eliminated.

Shelley takes this opportunity to attack Collyer, who is still covering Rhino. Shelley brings in some stiff Japanese style kicks to Collyer. Collyer, though, catches on kick and brings Shelley to the ground. He goes for the Texas Cloverleaf, and Shelley crawls to the ropes. Shelley holds on to the ropes and Collyer eases up. Shelley maintains his grip on the ropes, so Collyer grabs his feet and pulls him off the ropes with a THUD. Shelley kicks Collyer in the head and rolls out of the ring. Collyer fakes a suicide dive, and then attempts to catch Shelley with a Tornado DDT. Shelley reverses it, though, with a Northern Lights Suplex. BEAUTIFUL. Unfortunately, it’s outside the ring and Shelley can’t pick up the win out there. Shelley grabs Collyer and rolls him into the ring. He goes for the cover and the pin, but Collyer gets his foot on the rope. Shelley throws Collyer into the ropes and goes for a hip toss. Collyer catches Shelley in the act and floors him, following through with the Texas Cloverleaf for the win.

WINNER: Chad Collyer.

Match # 5: Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy-**¾

Jericho is so confident that he’s better than Hardy that he gives him a free shot. Hardy kicks him in the gut and goes for the Twist of Fate. Jericho pushes him off and does the old drop and leapfrog routine, ending with Jericho dropkicking Hardy. Jericho drops an elbow square into Hardy’s back. Hardy starts to stand up, and Jericho stomps him square in the back. Jericho throws Hardy into the corner, and Hardy climbs the turnbuckles and delivers a spinning heel kick to Jericho’s kisser. Hardy splits Jericho’s legs and delivers a leg drop that might make Jericho cry. After some more offense, Hardy puts Jericho on the top turnbuckle. Hardy goes for a Frankensteiner, but Jericho stops him and jumps to the mat, putting Hardy in the walls of Jericho. Hardy is freaking out, and Jericho looks to be winning. Matt Hardy comes running down to ringside and the girls scream, thinking he’s there to save Jeff. The guys, though, know what’s happening. Matt runs in and shoves Jericho. The ref calls for the DQ. Jericho looks at Matt, and Matt turns around and stomps on Jeff. Jericho shrugs and starts in on Jeff as well, which prompts CHRIS BENOIT to run in for the save. Jericho and Matt run off, and Benoit checks on Jeff.

WINNER: Jeff Hardy by DQ

BACKSTAGE…

The Naturals are waiting, and the person they’re waiting for is JIM E. CORNETTE!!! Cornette announces that he is in NWA Midwest, and he’s here to make an impact. And he’s going to do that with The Naturals and Austin Aries. To prove the impact he can make, he’s going to challenge ANY TEAM to a match with the Naturals next week. ANY TEAM. And he means it.

Match # 6: Samoa Joe vs. Chad Collyer-*½

This match is for a shot at the NWA United States Title. Collyer and Joe stand face to face. Collyer offers a hand and Joe takes it. And then rips it off and uses it to beat Collyer. Not really, but that’s what it looked like. That is, until Joe tried to set Collyer up for a Muscle Buster. Collyer hit a “Blockbuster” neckbreaker from the top turnbuckle and the momentum shifts from there. Collyer grounds Joe, and starts working his arm. Which is good, since Joe uses a Triangle Choke. Collyer keeps control, and decides to attempt to maintain it while bringing Joe to his feet. Collyer tries for a vertical suplex, but Joe decides to reverse it. In mid-air, Joe turns it into a Muscle Buster and goes for the cover. 1-2-3.

WINNER: Samoa Joe.
