God dammit, because AMW turns heel, that means I have to watch them wrestle WWE style crap matches every week, when the show only runs 46 minutes long to begin with? Sabin is the only guy I like in the match... and just fucking guess who's laying down.

Wow, and I thought this was a retarded concept when I did it with my wrestling figures back in 1994. The match is obviously going to play second banana to both guys failing at doing their finishing moves 500 times... oh, and whoever "wins" this will lose the PPV.

Have I mentioned how awful of a nam "Kip James" is? Why not just call him Monty Sopp... it's about equal on the lame meter. He'll probably beat up Elix Skipper, because TNA seems to enjoy jobbing out the two black guys (Skipper and Clark).

prof_plague - November 11, 2005 12:20 AM (GMT)
What time on the 12th?

jamiegeist - November 11, 2005 12:25 AM (GMT)
I thought the finisher challenge sounds awesome, especially when TNA is still trying to hook new viewers. Those are still two of the most impressive finishers in wrestling today.

Matter of fact, I had a dream last night about wrestling, which is VERY strange. I was watching some downloaded clip of an indy match or something, and a guy did a headscissors to a guy as he fell over the top rope, only the guy who was getting headscissored stopped himself, so he just had the guy dangling over the top rope upside down. He steps through/over the ropes (don't ask how, its a dream) and then hooks him and hits a Styles Clash from the apron to the floor through a table.

Thats a pretty awesome fuckin dream right there, considering I don't even think about wrestling unless I'm bullshitting on here with you guys.

Scrooge McSuck - November 11, 2005 01:12 AM (GMT)
I bet A.J. Styles has done that move before. I know I've heard of him doing it from the apron to the floor, but not sure if ever through a table.

Yep, through a table. ROH Revenge on the Prophecy if anyone cares...

Scrooge McSuck - November 13, 2005 04:25 AM (GMT)
Was Impact live tonight, or did I not notice Spoilers anywhere for the last week.

Mad Dog - November 13, 2005 04:44 AM (GMT)
The spoilers for this show kind of got buried with all the buzz over the Primetime show.

Scrooge McSuck - November 13, 2005 04:48 AM (GMT)
Ah...

Trivia Time: What's an uglier visual: Lance Hoyt's drunk girl ass tattoo or Jeff Hardy's hot pink and lime green body paint?

TheGreatWhiteChoate - November 13, 2005 04:59 AM (GMT)
For God's sake, is Jeff Jarrett invincible or is every referee borrowed directly from the NBA?

Scrooge McSuck - November 13, 2005 05:03 AM (GMT)
It's a combination of both. I know people compare Jarrett to Triple H when it comes to their "politics", but Triple H is about 5000 rungs up the ladder when it comes to being a believable threat to anyone above the midcard.

jamiegeist - November 13, 2005 08:06 AM (GMT)
Impact was boring, and very fast-forwardable to me tonight. The only thing I truly watched in full was Joe v Aries, which was really fun, again. Starting off with a fuckin Monty Brown promo was HORRIBLE, even though the Abyss and James Mitchell part made it enjoyable.

SamoaRowe - November 13, 2005 04:24 PM (GMT)
I didn't watch last night because I wasn't in the mood. I'll catch the Monday night replay though.

prof_plague - November 13, 2005 08:10 PM (GMT)
Joe and Aries lasted about 5 minutes...may be.

I must admit, the way he won that match was horribly unbelievable

Sure, go ahead and do that to a midcard title, but the NWA title?!

Big F'N Swigg - November 14, 2005 03:05 AM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure every match he's wrestled for the belt has had a hard to believe ending. And the match on iMPACT was ridiculous and looked fake.

TheGreatWhiteChoate - November 14, 2005 03:16 AM (GMT)
The best thing for them right now is to usher in Christian as the new champ. It restores a little credibility, and then you can get guys like Joe going for title shots.

dynamite kido - November 14, 2005 03:04 PM (GMT)
Honestly, the belt at this point belongs on Joe...........

Big F'N Swigg - November 15, 2005 01:18 AM (GMT)
I don't know. I think putting the belt on Joe is a bit premature. Giving him the X Belt is a good start. He's not as over with the TV crowd yet. I think either Christian, Raven, Rhino or Brown are good choices. And turn someone other than Jarrett heel

SamoaRowe - November 16, 2005 02:59 PM (GMT)
iMPACT did a 0.7 rating this week, which doesn't surprise me since even I wasn't in the mood to watch wrestling last Saturday.

I'll also note that it was the weakest Spike TV show to date. If I ever get around to doing a review, I'd probably label it as "thumbs in the middle."

Scrooge McSuck - November 16, 2005 06:33 PM (GMT)
That show was easily thumbs down. I remember switching the channel 3 times during the saturday broadcast because it couldn't keep me entertained, and it was a rather weak show outside of the main event.

That's the way it's looking. He's probably going to beat Styles at Turning Point.

prof_plague - November 20, 2005 04:12 AM (GMT)
Quick question...was Genesis on PPV?

Scrooge McSuck - November 20, 2005 05:08 AM (GMT)
No, it was on FOX's Wednesday Primetime slot. Of course it was on PPV!

Please, you make every single episode of iMPACT sound like October's Raw episodes.

Tonight's episode showed they have lost the positive momentum they had going into their Spike TV timeslot last month, but the second half-hour of the show was very good, IMO.

I thought it was. But tonight on iMPACT the commentators said something along the lines of, 'Turning Point will be our first big event back on PPV.' and I got confused.

Scrooge McSuck - November 20, 2005 07:00 AM (GMT)
Turning Point is their next PPV. Tenay (or was it West) just phrased it oddly, like a 4 week lapse between PPV's is a good enough excuse to say "returning to PPV." Ditto when WWE does it, especially when at one time 2 PPV's were only 2 weeks apart.

prof_plague - November 20, 2005 09:21 AM (GMT)
Yeah. I think it was Tenay who was wording it that way. "Turning Point, where TNA finally returns to PPV." "Turning Point is going to be our first PPV since being on Spike..."

Scrooge McSuck - November 20, 2005 09:49 AM (GMT)
TP is their 3rd PPV since the SpikeTV deal though, isn't it? :D

Mad Dog - November 20, 2005 12:08 PM (GMT)
I thought tonight's show was one of their better editions. They accomplished a lot and Rhino/Abyss was a pretty good match.

Horray for storylines!

Scrooge, you post something like that again an you'll be in serious trouble.

And yes, it was a well rounded episode

Scrooge McSuck - November 21, 2005 02:51 AM (GMT)
...I said they developed angles? And stop deleting my shit, or I'll do something I should've done a long time ago!

And the matches were pretty bad. Joe alreadyb squashed Clark like 500 times, so it's pointless. AMW vs. The Rock 2.0/Apollo is as bad as you could've imagined. The only good match was Rhyno/Abyss, and it had a lame-ass finish.

Big F'N Swigg - November 21, 2005 02:56 AM (GMT)
You'll do what? You baited using a line involving "drinking the Kool-Aid." I'll have you remember that I am the mod of this folder, and I am allowed to delete posts that I feel are inapropriate or unnecessary.

Which yours have been in this folder, as of late.

You're allowed to say that you didn't like the show, but say it respectfully.

Oh yeah, that joke. My bad. :D

jamiegeist - November 21, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
Before I read everyone else's Impact thoughts, I wanted to post mine, so they are adversely affected. Just watched the show:

Thought the Joe squash was great, and the altercation with AJ was awesome, and probably the best AJ promo I've seen so far. He didn't look scared, and had some intensity. But with Joe's badass persona, and AJ talking about "breaking a code" they better be careful. Cause Joe is REALLY over.

The Tag match was quite a good little match, and they should've just made it for the straps if AMW was going to easily retain. Siaki and Apolo hit their spots well, and the after match promo was good, and once again, built towards the PPV. I don't believe they mentioned the titles being on the line at Turning Point, but I'll assume they are.

The Jarrett segments were good, although him mentioning Raven and Monty is a little strange, as they probably are building to some kind of big match, which someone mentioned on here. I don't really like the sound of that.

3LK thing at least furthered the angle without boring us with a match. Like I said, break them up and feud them....or something.

Rhino v Abyss was better than I expected, and Rhino was WAY over tonight in the Impact Zone. Which is good, since they announced him as getting a title shot.

The main event Promo was kickass, and Monty was thankfully actually trying to get people to give him some heel heat. I think they accomplished exactly what they were going for. Monty is much more bearable as a heel also. And his shirt was REALLY gay. Christian looked jacked to be there, intense in his action, and was great on the mic, cutting Monty off before the POOOOOOOOOOOUNCE........period!
