Title: Raw rating
Description: Do'h!

SamoaRowe - November 3, 2005 05:44 PM (GMT)
Raw did a 3.4 this week, the lowest since returning to USA.

This is what a month's worth of shitty shows will do.

How are WWE going to spin this one?

jamiegeist - November 3, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
I'm sure it'll be attributed to Monday Night Football, or a Hurricane, or maybe the fact that RAW wouldve been more entertaining if I had a handheld camera on me while I took a 2 hour and 15 minute dump.

Sounds like Vince chased off a ton of people with that JR skit.

Scrooge McSuck - November 3, 2005 08:10 PM (GMT)
Sounds like the Necrophilia angle where Triple H fucked a "corpse" inside a coffin for 4 minutes. I turned that crap off and didn't watch again until after the angle ended, which thankfully was about 3-4 weeks later.

Oh, nice for HHH to go over the big match too, then "job" a casket match... but he needed HBK to run-in to make his loss look believable.

TheGreatWhiteChoate - November 3, 2005 10:12 PM (GMT)
This is a downswing. Maybe they'll pay attention and make an effort to change something, tho I doubt it.

Mad Dog - November 3, 2005 10:20 PM (GMT)
I think it would have to get under 2.5 for them to notice.

SamoaRowe - November 3, 2005 10:25 PM (GMT)
Yeah, the Raw rating has basically been hovering from about 3.2 to 4.0 for a couple of years now. It doesn't usually go any higher or any lower.

I'm afraid that if the rating did drop down to 2.4, they wouldn't do anything positive to fix it... they would hit the "panic" button and hot shot all sorts of crappy angles.

I was almost close to being finished with wrestling when I saw the "necrophilia" angle.

SamoaRowe - November 4, 2005 05:42 PM (GMT)
The necrophilia angle drove me away from Raw for a while. My interest in wrestling was kept alive by an awesome episode of Smackdown that week that featured a **** Edge/Eddie match and a Rey/Benoit/Angle triple threat main event.

That, and I ordered my first TNA ppv around that time too.

S.T. Strickler - November 4, 2005 05:46 PM (GMT)
Wasn't that Edge/Eddie match something along of the lines of a "No Holds Barred" match that featured a ladder spot at the end?

Scrooge McSuck - November 4, 2005 05:53 PM (GMT)
Yup, No DQ, and then somehow worked a ladder into most of the match, which is why some people get confused and think it's a Ladder Match... except it ends with a pin.

Also, don't know if I mentioned it, but the Necro angle was probably when I started to hate Triple H. Not markish "boo, he's a heel" hate, but "I wish this guy would break his neck and get lost forever" hate.

SamoaRowe - November 4, 2005 06:01 PM (GMT)
I had just discovered EWR a few months before the necrophilia angle started. So when the funeral home scene with Triple H in the Kane mask aired, I thought to myself when it was over "Triple H has lost 30 points of overness."

Mad Dog - November 4, 2005 06:03 PM (GMT)
I started to hate Triple H well before that. I realized by Rumble 2002 that he was horribly boring and I think I actually posted on several forums about it and got told I was insane.

As for my HHHate. His antics grew irritating back in 2000. His match quality dipped after Fully Loaded and I was annoyed he wouldn't put Angle over in the triangle and then went over Austin right as he was heading into Mania. I was actually going to never watch wrestling again if HHH beat Taker at Mania X-7.

From 2001-2003 I was usually ahead of people by a couple of weeks.

Scrooge McSuck - November 4, 2005 06:05 PM (GMT)
I gave Trips the benefit of doubt when he came back. When he bored me to sleep at Wrestlemania X-8, he lost my support as a fan of his face run.

Mad Dog - November 4, 2005 06:09 PM (GMT)
HHH, IMO, is the most unprofessional person I've ever seen. I've never seen a wrestler that goes out of their way to bury everyone who got a win over him as a mid-carder and who holds a grudge against anyone who he thinks did him wrong. I honestly think that he lays awake at night trying to figure out how to get the Ultimate Warrior back in the WWF so he can get that job back.

Scrooge McSuck - November 4, 2005 06:12 PM (GMT)
Oh come on... he's not that petty, just protective of his spot (even though it's solidly placed above the glass ceiling)
