Title: Jerry Jarrett, Scumbag

Stolen from the Pit, which stole it from Meltz's site...

--Jerry Jarrett was in the WWE offices and it was made a pretty public deal. Jarrett had called Jerry Lawler recently and told him about being disenchanted with TNA, believing he put the company on the map and now that it is on the verge of success, he has pretty much no power. With the exception of working at the Gorilla position at tapings, Jerry Jarrett has virtually no involvement in the company at this point in time. In May, he was vocal against putting the new creative team in place and told anyone who would listen that they would fail. When they didn't tank the company, his opinions stopped being listened to. The story is he was there to negotiate with WWE for a big Russian he was representing, but at the meeting, made it clear he was unhappy with TNA. Virtually nobody, and that includes the people closest to Jeff, were aware he was going. The "other guy" that the WWE web site doesn't say but wants everyone to believe was Jeff, would have been the Russian, whose name we're not aware of. The way the story is being slipped out on the internet is a very public FU to TNA from WWE, and no doubt, Jerry perhaps even more, knowing it'll shake everyone up. To say people in TNA are pretty furious at Jerry for how he played this game would be an understatement. Stories that Jerry was there to sell the Memphis tape collection are entirely untrue as he has no rights to the collection. Jarrett sold his 50% of the company to Jerry Lawler circa 1997, who in turn sold it to a Cleveland based group, who in turn, put it quickly out of business resulting in a messy lawsuit.

And he's a scumbag how? TNA was HIS baby, and he's been essentially forced out of it. I'd be staggered if Vince didn't offer him some kind of job, because he was always Vince's back-up plan if he went to jail in 91, or if Patterson's personal life went public during the 80's, which, in turn, I found kinda ironic because of that disgusting skit TNA did last week

I couldn't think of a better title. :P However, he sold TNA to Panda Energy years ago, so really, it was his choice to stay or not. He shouldn't turn his back on the company, no matter how little "power" he has.

Sounds great. THe further removed anyone named Jarrett can get from TNA the better.

Exactly, Jarrett is a fucking scumbag. He couldn't afford to keep the company afloat on his own money because of a ton of shitty business decisions. So fuck him for going to Vince. He's a fucking two faced piece of shit. But that shouldn't be surprising though...............he IS/WAS a wrestling promotor. It comes with the territory.

I could care less about Jerry Jarrett. It was good of him to start TNA, but I mean really, the TNA product has improved by leaps and bounds since he lost control. I used to find iMPACT really tedious to watch and the ppvs were always a grab bag of randomness (sometimes fun, sometimes not so much).

What I find funny is that 2/3 of the marks out there will respond to the article like this:

"Who??"

True, true, but the real point of doing this seems to be sending the public "fuck you" to TNA. I think enough smarks have been riled up enough to have accomplished what WWE was going for.

WWE doesn't see TNA as competition... and then brags about shit like this to cheese them off. Makes sense.

I think the best part of this is Vince is probably in his office giggling like a school girl thinking he just totally fucked over TNA when he would be doing them a huge favor by hiring Jerry.

whitemilesdavis - October 31, 2005 03:33 PM (GMT)
Exactly. Hey Vince, how about really screwing TNA and taking Jeff while you're at it. That'l get'em.
