And they have a guy named CP Munk. awesome.

I read 107, but either way, fucking nuts. Pick this DVD up when it comes out.

SamoaRowe - October 27, 2005 01:51 PM (GMT)
Wow, that sounds like a hell of a match.

eStragand - October 27, 2005 04:47 PM (GMT)
Waitaminut...there's a rassler named "Rorshach"? How the fuck he is not teaming up with someone named "Nite Owl" is blasphemy. Can't wait until he busts open a toilet bowl and electrocutes his opponents with a light socket.

dynamite kido - October 27, 2005 06:30 PM (GMT)
I REALLY need to get off my ass and pick up some Chikara.

You guys do realize that "incredibly long" doesn't neccessarily equal "incredibly good", right?

smkelly13 - October 27, 2005 07:35 PM (GMT)
When it involves HHH then the above statement is true.

With 16 wrestlers the quality of those guys, yes it does.

whitemilesdavis - October 27, 2005 07:46 PM (GMT)
There are MAYBE 4-5 guys in that match that I would be interested in seeing, and I wouldn't eve want to see those guys try to go an hour.

Mad Dog - October 27, 2005 07:46 PM (GMT)
I have no interest in any match that goes for 104 minutes.

whitemilesdavis - October 27, 2005 08:06 PM (GMT)
Steamboat '89 vs. Dynamite '82?

Mad Dog - October 27, 2005 08:39 PM (GMT)
Even then I would doubt it. There's no credible way, IMO, for a match to go that long. Even when the wrestlers would be as gifted as Steamboat and Dynamite it would still end up starting to suck after the hour mark.

whitemilesdavis - October 27, 2005 08:50 PM (GMT)
What if they had a naked chick intermission at the 52 minute mark?

Mad Dog - October 27, 2005 08:52 PM (GMT)
Nah. I just think wrestling is best not going past 60 minutes. Past that is needless.

whitemilesdavis - October 27, 2005 08:56 PM (GMT)
Eh, true. And I can only think of two or three 60 minute matches that I like.

Mad Dog - October 27, 2005 09:02 PM (GMT)
Flair/Steamboat 2/3 Falls - though it's a few minutes shy of 60.

I would put some of the Triple Crown Title defenses but 60 minute draws piss me off more than anything. I notice after about the 45 minute mark for most matches that my enjoyment level starts to decrease rapidly.

Real F'n Show - October 28, 2005 01:14 AM (GMT)
I can see your points (I too am not a fan of long matches for the sake of being long matches), but there's 16 people in the match, not just two. I could see how a singles match that went this long would be boring, but there's TONS of different match-ups in this match, so many combinations. Plus you add in all the backstory (if you follow CHIKARA, that is) with great matwork and crisp highflying (which by judging by reports, this match is all about), and you could have one hell of a match. I'll post my thoughts when I get the DVD.

Probably not something I'll watch more than once in one sitting, though, obviously.

prof_plague - October 28, 2005 03:58 AM (GMT)
At least it wasn't a one-on-one match that lasted 104 minutes.

Scrooge McSuck - October 28, 2005 04:36 AM (GMT)
...104 minutes?! 1 hour and 44 minutes?!? Jesus fucking Christ. I'd probably want to hang myself. 1 hour? Sure. 70 minutes? Pushing it... but 104?! I don't give a shit if there was 50 men, that's too fucking long for one god damn match!

prof_plague - October 28, 2005 06:59 AM (GMT)
Even the Royal Rumble only lasts about an hour, and that's with 30 wrestlers. Although that's an over-the-top-rope battle royal, and not an elimination match by regular one fall rules.

jamiegeist - October 28, 2005 07:33 AM (GMT)
I'd definitely like to see it, just to see if a 104 minute match can indeed be done. And I've never heard of this promotion either
