I figured this could be interesting. What are your top 50 horror films of all time. If you can't get 50 do 25 or 10 though. I'll be posting mine probably tomorrow.....
I doubt I've seen 50 horror movies. I'll try to make some kind of list, but I don't know how it will turn out. Anyway, I loved the stark minimalism of George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead (1968). That would be a high pick.
I'm probably in the same boat as BiG, although I may use the "I haven't seen 50 good Horror Movies" excuse. For now, a "off the top of my list" list of Horror Movies I've watched so I can break it down easier...
- Halloween 1, 2, 5, H20, Resurrection (damn that black guy for making it suck even harder)
- Friday The 13th (all)
- Nightmare on Elm Street (all)
- Freddy vs. Jason
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)
- Jaws (all 4, but they could be classified as thriller-horror)
- Night of the Living Dead and remake (and several of the comedy sequels with "Return" in it)
- Child's Play 1, 2, 3
- House on Haunted Hill (Vincent Price version)
- The Bat
- House of Wax (again, Vincent Price version)
- Psycho (and one of the crappy sequels. like Jaws, could be classified as Thriller more)
- Polterguiest (sp?) (all 3)
- The Lost Boys
- Bram Stoker's Dracula
- Nosferatu
- Dead-Alive (or whatever name it was given other than this)
- Stephen King's IT
- I Know What You Did Last Summer (and the sequel)
- The Last House on the Left
- Scream 1 and 2
I might have a top 5 at best.
And I'm sure they'd get torn apart on here by the horror purists. They arent slash and gash films. Just movies that scared me. The Ring is on there. Event Horizon as well.
