Title: OAO New Year's Revolution Thread
Description: January 9, 2005
Real F'n Show - December 27, 2004 01:59 AM (GMT)
Since we really haven't talked about the Elimination Chamber match coming up in 2 weeks, or this PPV in general, I figured I'd start this. I figure the Elimination Chamber will be the best one so far, as I've honestly enjoyed everyone involved's work recently.
So do you guys plan on ordering? And what other matches do you see being added, now that almost all of the main eventers on Raw are in one match?
Scrooge McSuck - December 27, 2004 02:02 AM (GMT)
I can't order the PPV due to lack of Digital Cable access, but I'll probably get a copy down the line.
I expect the card to be filled up like this...
WWF Title: Elimination Chamber (of course)
IC Title: Shelton Benjamin © vs. Maven
Tag Titles: Eugene & William Regal © vs. Tyson & Christian
Kane vs. Gene Snitsky
Rosey vs. Simon Dean
Tajiri & Rhyno vs. La Resistance
I honestly don't know about the last match, but since after the Chamber and title matches, the roster is pretty thin.
Real F'n Show - December 27, 2004 02:05 AM (GMT)
Forgot about Maven/Benjamin.
Honestly, I'd prefer if heel Maven feud with someone else, as I was digging the matches that Benjamin and Christian were having.
Scrooge McSuck - December 27, 2004 02:09 AM (GMT)
Christian has had too many chances at the title and failed. If they keep using him in the title match and keep having him lose, it makes him look worse, and right now, Benjamin is the target to get over and taking the title off him here would be pointless.
also tack on Lita vs. Molly or something.
TehDoct0r - December 27, 2004 05:36 AM (GMT)
That projected tag title match could be interesting, if Tomko is kept to a minimum. I'd honestly love to see the IC Title match you suggested (and looks likely), and of course the Elimination Chamber looks good. That's the problem with the chamber though, there's no one left to make the undercard fun and the show worth ordering.
Scrooge McSuck - December 27, 2004 05:52 PM (GMT)
That's pretty much why the match should only be used for joint shows, which means either Summerslam or Survivor Series. Royal Rumble draws on it's own and Wrestlemania is Wrestlemania.
At least on Joint Productions the Smackdown! side can at least fill up the Upper-Midcard matches with their main eventers.
Mad Dog - December 29, 2004 06:34 AM (GMT)
Why do they expect me to pay $35 for a card that looks like it belongs on a houseshow? Have they really cut so many guys off at the knees that they can't even fill an undercard when they have more than 2 guys in a main event?
Scrooge McSuck - December 29, 2004 02:56 PM (GMT)
Remember what Armageddon looked like last month?
Spike vs. Funaki
Puder vs. Mizanin
Cena squashing Jesus (not Christ)
the 76th Rey/RVD vs. Kenzo/Rene
Holly/Haas vs. the Bashams
I think it's a toss up, but the Elimination Chamber has more appeal to it than a Fatal 4-Way where the title is guranteed to never change.
Mad Dog - December 29, 2004 02:58 PM (GMT)
Isn't that basically the Elimination Chamber? It's getting taken off Triple H so it can be transitioned back to Triple H.
Scrooge McSuck - December 29, 2004 02:59 PM (GMT)
Maybe Triple H won't win. I know it's a long shot since he's the only logical winner thanks to HBK Jesus Lover being the referee. This gurantees a screwjob finish, and whenever HBK referees a Hunter match on PPV, he somehow helps Hunter win, be it by accident or intentionally.
Mad Dog - December 29, 2004 03:07 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it was a dead give away as soon as they announced HBK was the special ref. It'll probably end with him accidentally superkicking Orton, since lord knows no one else should do anything in the match, giving HHH the title again.
Raw really sucks with HHH and HBK on top.
Scrooge McSuck - December 29, 2004 03:15 PM (GMT)
Wasn't Bad Blood suppose to be "The End" of the 40 year feud in the Desert? Why the hell are they going to feud again!?! Jesus, is it THAT hard to do something else?
RAW has Benoit, Jericho, HBK, Hunter, Batista, Orton, Kane, Benjamin.
Benjamin vs. HBK could be fun.
Kane vs. Batista everyone seems to pop for in a confrontation in Battle Royales
Hunter vs. Jericho (let Jericho win for once)
Benoit vs. ... I guess Orton, but it still switches things up.
Mad Dog - December 30, 2004 09:31 PM (GMT)
I wonder if the EC will jumpstart another 6 months of 30+ minute matches between HHH/HBK while everyone else on Raw gets ignored.
Scrooge McSuck - December 31, 2004 06:54 PM (GMT)
So far officially set....
WWE Title; Elimination Chamber:
Special Referee: Shawn Michaels
Triple H vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho vs. Edge vs. Batista vs. Randy Orton
- Special Note: Batista enters the Chamber last due to winning the "Beat The Clock" challenge.
WWE Womens Championship Match:
Lita © vs. Trish Stratus
Non-Title Grudge Match:
KANE! vs. Gene Snitsky
So far my biggest question is about Kane/Snitsky. How would anyone here book the match?
Here's mine: Kane goes over in 3 minutes, and beats the shit out of Snitsky to the point he's a bloody mess. Any other way would make Kane look incredibly weak, and it would make zero sense to make it an even match considering Kane wants Snitskys blood.
WrestlingDreams - January 6, 2005 05:22 PM (GMT)
i'm only buying the show for the chamber match rest of card looks like something that should be on raw not ppv
Scrooge McSuck - January 6, 2005 07:34 PM (GMT)
<---buying a copy of the show for Kane/Snitsky.
Yes, I'm a mega Kane-mark. If I was the head booker of RAW he would've been Champion for the last 18 months and would've squashed everyone possible by now.
Full Card...
WWE Title; Elimination Chamber:
Special Referee: Shawn Michaels
Triple H vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho vs. Edge vs. Batista vs. Randy Orton
- Special Note: Batista enters the Chamber last due to winning the "Beat The Clock" challenge.
WWE Womens Championship Match:
Lita © vs. Trish Stratus
Non-Title Grudge Match:
KANE! vs. Gene Snitsky
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match:
Shelton Benjamin © vs. Maven
WWE Tag Team Championship Match:
Eugene & William Regal © vs. Christian & Tyson Tomko
Jerry Lawler vs. Muhammad Hassan
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Ddefinitely a two-match show for me. Lawler/Hassan better not be Lawler winning or even dominating, the IC Title match looks very "Heat"-ish, and the Tag Title Match COULD be fun, but it's Tyson F'N Tomko. Womens match will disappoint compared to their RAW match.
Real F'n Show - January 6, 2005 09:35 PM (GMT)
Every match Maven is involved in will look "HeAt-ish". It's fucking Maven, and he'll never get over. The Chamber and the Women's match are the only ones that look interesting. I demand more Tajiri, dammit!
Scrooge McSuck - January 6, 2005 09:42 PM (GMT)
Are you calling Kane vs. Snitsky not interesting?! Oh, you are going to get it now pinko!

Yeah, from looking at pay-per-view cards you might think that WWE has no good talent to use on their shows... and then one stops and thinks about all the great talent that just doesn't get used.
It's enough to bring a tear to one's eye.
Scrooge McSuck - January 8, 2005 03:22 AM (GMT)
As I try to stop looking at my signature (drools), I'll just say this....
Smackdown is the "brand" that really screws over their wrestlers. You have some good wrestlers and cruiserweights on Velocity like Paul London, Billy Kidman, Nunzio, Akio, Chavo Guerrero, Charlie Haas, yet they are rarely used on the Smackdown broadcasts, and when they are, they are jobbed out.
RAW really has a depleted roster. Sunday Night Heat usually consists of a bunch of shitty wrestlers, with the occasional Venis or Richards match where they get to put over Jobbers. Velocity: Paul London vs. Akio. Heat: Viscera vs. Random Jobber.
RAW needs a talent transplant for the undercard fast, although they'll screw it up by bringing up more hosses and fill out PPV's with 2 Diva matches and McMahons running wild.
Mad Dog - January 8, 2005 05:09 PM (GMT)
Gotta love a company that axed 12 people just so they could bring Viscera on board.
Scrooge McSuck - January 8, 2005 05:50 PM (GMT)
They could've at least kept Gangrel on. Everyone knows he was held down because his entrance is better than Triple H's.
TehDoct0r - January 8, 2005 08:08 PM (GMT)
That's true. And I actually like HHH's entrance.
dynamite kido - January 9, 2005 12:58 AM (GMT)
Wow, besides the chamber......I don't know if I would even WANT to watch another match on this show.
Seems like another halfassed WWE PPV to me....

Actually his whole depush centered around his gut coming out of his shirt during a Heat match.
Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2005 01:02 AM (GMT)
Oh... actually, I meant recently where they had the choice to keep both men on the roster full time, but opted to just keep VISCERA (the most talentless piece of shit ever) over Gangrel (who could at least wrestle, bump, and had a kick ass entrance).
I'm still made he didn't win a title in 1998-2000 though. Damn his gut...
dynamite kido - January 9, 2005 01:03 AM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure the only reason they have Big Visc is because they can pay him per appearance.
Mad Dog - January 9, 2005 01:04 AM (GMT)
Ah, good old Rumble 99 with that wonderful ignored 3 count.
Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2005 01:05 AM (GMT)
And that wonderful 12 seconds in the rumble where the ROAD F'N DOGG eliminated him with ease.
Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2005 08:29 PM (GMT)
Prediction for a Heat Match: Rosey vs. Simon Dean

And he can have good matches with Benoit on Heat.
Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2005 11:37 PM (GMT)
Even Benoit can't drag a good match out of Viscera. The guy friggin' no sold the Crossface for 40 seconds! People below Midcard are suppose to tap out in 5-6 seconds the longest. He lasted almost a minute, and jobbed clean to Val Venis the week before.
TehDoct0r - January 9, 2005 11:44 PM (GMT)
Whatever, I dug that match as a stand-alone thing. And really, if Big Dave tapped to the Crossface at the PPV tonight after 15 seconds, is anyone gonna think Vis is more of a threat because he lasted 40 seconds on Heat?
Scrooge McSuck - January 9, 2005 11:46 PM (GMT)
It was on RAW for the Beat-the-Clock thing, not on Heat. On Heat Viscera jobbed to a roll up to Venis.
Batista didn't tap on RAW, which proves he's better. :) GO BATISTA! (waves banner)
Scrooge McSuck - January 10, 2005 12:04 AM (GMT)
Sunday Night Heat time...
Starting us off is a video package (and quite lengthy) for the ongoing Lita/Trish stratus saga. Trish should wrestle every week in the outfit she wore for the Kane/Lita wedding.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Highlights shwon from Benjamin/Grenier. Ugh.... Grenier not only fucks up a kip-up (and I mean fucked up), he screws up with the finish where he forgot to kick out of the twirly kick that Benjamin does. Ugly match that shouldn't have seen the light of day again.
D.A.V.E. - January 10, 2005 12:19 AM (GMT)
Can anyone give me one good reason why Rob Conway is saddled with that idiot????
Scrooge McSuck - January 10, 2005 12:23 AM (GMT)
Uh... one good reason? Hahahahahahahaa.... (Calms down)... ahahahahaha! You're serious? No one can even come up with one good reason Sylvain Grenier is still on the roster (since his cock holder Pat Patterson retired).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Video Package for Kane/Snitsky... eh. We all know Kane is going to make Snitsky his bitch (smiles), so eh... again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone else find it hilarious that Jerry Lawler pulled off his belt as the first thing to do when he got back to his feet? I'm sure "smart fans" were screaming protect the children when he did that.
Scrooge McSuck - January 10, 2005 01:05 AM (GMT)
William Regal & Eugene defending against Christian & Tyson Tomko is up first bitches.
Real F'n Show - January 10, 2005 01:07 AM (GMT)
What was the Heat match?
And btw, I'm not ordering...
Scrooge McSuck - January 10, 2005 01:13 AM (GMT)
No Heat match... the bastards in WWE.
