Title: Question about Carlito?
Description: whatsupwitdat?!
jamiegeist - October 15, 2005 02:17 AM (GMT)
Something occured to me while I was watching RAW this week, and I forgot about it, again. It has happened the last few RAWs actually, I've thought this.
Why the hell is Carlito constantly in the limelight and getting tons of TV time? I don't hate the guy. But he is SMALL. I mean, people like Christian and tons of others get relegated to never being elevated to that level because of their size, but this never seems to have even been an issue with Carlito, as he has been pushed from the get go.
And face it, he isn't super on the mic. He does his routine, but it definitely isn't wonderful, or something that hasn't been seen before. He sure isn't worth a damn in the ring from what we've seen in WWE thus far. I mean, really, we talk all about how Vince won't give the reigns to guys on RAW like Shelton Benjamin because he lacks some of the qualities to be a top guy.
But Carlito doesnt seem to possess anything special, and is constantly involved in main event segments/interviews/matches/angle. It can't just be the hair. Anyone else notice/care about this?

If you notice though, he's the one who usually gets pinned in the main event. You got me why Carlito is on top.

He's entertaining as hell to me, especially his promos and mannerisms. I'm actually digging the Carlito/Masters team too. Only thing that bother me is his lack of a moveset, but let's face it, he doesn't really need one.

I actually like the guy too, I'm just baffled that he didn't have to go through the cruiserweight division, or all this bullshit. Somehow he goes straight to the top.
Scrooge McSuck - October 15, 2005 04:43 AM (GMT)
Maybe because he wrestles nothing like the cruiserweights? Hell, Spike Dudley wrestled more like one, and he sure as hell wasn't. Carlito has a good look to him, he has charisma, and potential. It also doesn't hurt his father is Carlos Colon.

YOu got it. Plus, he can deliver a promo that doesn't sound like a 32 year old retarded man, someone with a speech impedement, or someone who has a severe stuttering problem.

I remember thinking that when I saw Rocky Miavia, except he had a stupid gimmick and catchphrase, "You can't smile enough!"

I'm waiting for them to do something with him in an actual match other than have him get squashed.

His matches are bland, his promo's are all the same, and his voice bugs me. I hate the guy.
whitemilesdavis - October 24, 2005 08:55 PM (GMT)
The match with Flair from RAW a couple of weeks ago was the best of his career. That's not cool.

At first his promos were really creative, but now they're not the same that they were. May be it was just because he started too high, and now he has to be work down some, to be raised-up again. May be he'll be even more popular once he shows improvement in the ring. (I hope.)
Well, at least he has the catchphrase.
...Carlito actually just makes me think of a 1992 Razor Ramon.
dynamite kido - October 25, 2005 04:12 AM (GMT)
Oh by the way.............I've totally changed my mind. Carlito is fucking ass.
SamoaRowe - October 25, 2005 05:21 AM (GMT)
Carlito should be managing at this point in his career. I mean, really, I keep hearing people say he wrestles in an old school style. I would never insult ring veterans like that :P
jamiegeist - October 25, 2005 05:31 AM (GMT)
Yeah, he fuckin sucks. And i have no clue why Vince has a hardon for him. And why the hell is he feuding with Foley anyway. Actually, "feuding", I meant to say.
Scrooge McSuck - October 25, 2005 04:10 PM (GMT)
Carlito actually did a big move that isn't a back slide last night. He's improving. :P
SamoaRowe - October 25, 2005 04:28 PM (GMT)
He's going to need to do more to get on my good side after last week's match with HBK. I believe Carlito went for no less than 11 cover attempts.
whitemilesdavis - October 25, 2005 04:31 PM (GMT)
His punches are pretty good....that's about it.
