Show kicks off as WWF Women's Champion Rockin' Robin sings the national anthem. (Women's championship is forfeited after this card)

Mr. Perfect vs. the Blue Blazer
This is Hennig's first appearance in his singlet. Match kicks off the show matchwise and is pretty fast paced as Blazer beats Blazer in the speed department all match long. But once Perfect catches Blazer after crossbody and hits em with a fall away slam, Blazer's offense stops. Perfect finishes Owen with a Perfect Plex at 11:29.

Perfect cuts a short promo about how he's about to take the WWF by storm and how everyone should look out for Mr. Perfect.

Quarter Finals Match
the Rockers vs. the Twin Towers (w/ Slick)
First match of te tag team tournament that will run all night long. Usual speed vs power story, match ends once Michaels (who has Akeem set up for a moonsault) gets caught by the Bossman who then hits a running powerslam. Slick wakes up Akeem for the cover afterwards at 10:47. Marty makes the save for Michaels with a chair before Bossman, Akeem and Slick can triple team him.

Quarter Finals Match
Demolition vs. the Powers of Pain (w/ Mr. Fuji)
Essentially this will serve as the blowoff match to their feud as well as a quarter finals match. Demos finish the POP off after they hit a Decapitation on both members, Smash pins Warlord at 10:24. Afterwards, they hit the Decapitation on Mr. Fuji as well to finish the program.

Backstage, Sean Mooney interviews "the Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase along with Virgil who says if he can manage the Royal Rumble, then he can certainly manage a 20 Man Battle Royal. He also mentions how $50,000 is pocket change to him and how he can never lose the Million Dollar title especially when everyone he's facing is far inferior to him.

20 Man Battle Royal for $50,000 and the Million Dollar title
Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil), Jim Duggan, Bad News Brown, Brutus Beefcake, Dino Bravo (w/ Frenchy Martin), Hercules, Brooklyn Brawler, Red Rooster, Ron Bass, Koko B. Ware, Honkytonk Man (w/ Jimmy Hart), Greg Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart), Bushwhacker Luke, Bushwhacker Butch, Boris Zhukov, Nikolai Volkoff, Paul Roma, Jim Powers, Hillbilly Jim & Sam Houston
DiBiase of course wins and retains his million dollar title by eliminating Brutus Beefcake at 9:42. DiBiase proceeds to give away the $50,000 to the crowd.

Quarter Finals Match
the Hart Foundation vs. the Fabulous Rougeaus (w/ Jimmy Hart)
Good match that has the Harts go over the Rougeaus with a Hart Attack on Jacques at 12:27.

Quarter Finals Match
the Brain Busters (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. Strike Force
Strike Force breaks up after a miscommunication and the Busters finish off Tito after Martel walks off with a spike piledriver at 14:49.

Special Guest Referee: Big John Studd
Andre the Giant (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. Jake Roberts
Jake wins with a jumping DDT off the top rope at 7:11. Afterwards Jake chases the Brain away from ringside with Damien as well waking up Andre from the DDT with Damien. (Andre is now part-time for the rest of the year).

Sean Mooney catches up with the Ultimate Warrior who goes off with his usual Warrior ranting shit and basically says Rude can't beat him.

Semi Finals Match
Demolition vs. the Twin Towers (w/ Slick)
Demos finish off this power struggle at 10:39 after a decapitation on Akeem. They even nail one on Slick!

Semi Finals Match
the Brain Busters vs. the Hart Foundation
Originally the Harts had this one with the Hart Attack on Tully, but behind the ref's back (Heenan was distracting him), Arn catches Bret with a fist drop with brass knuckless from the second rope. Knocking him out and turning Tully over Bret for the win at 16:09.

Mean Gene Okerlund is backstage with the WWF Champion "the Macho Man" Randy Savage who says he's been waiting for a year to get in the ring with Hulk Hogan and he doesn't whether or not Elizabeth is in his corner for the match. He says all he wants to retain his WWF title.

Lord Alfred Hayes is backstage with "Ravishing" Rick Rude who has his set on capturing the IC title. Rude says that not only does he possess a better body than the Ultimate Warrior and better looks than Warrior, he also possesses better smarts than Warrior. Which Rude says will lead him to the gold.

WWF Intercontinental Championship
the Ultimate Warrior © vs. "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan)
Rude wins of course with the same finish as the original only the match ends at 13:41. Warrior chases Heenan to the back, while Rude girates for the crowd with the IC strap.

Brother Love Show w/ guests Morton Downey Jr., "Rowdy Roddy Piper & "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka
After Downey of course smokes in Piper's face, Piper uses the fire extinguisher on him. Snuka catches Brother Love (Talks shit about both Piper & Snuka during the show too) who attempts to run backstage and brings him back to the ring. Piper knocks him out with the sleeper and Snuka nails the Superfly splash to pop the crowd into a frenzy.

Final Match of the Tournament
the Brain Busters (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. Demolition
Busters attempt to win it with a chairshot to Ax, but he dodges and Arn hits Tully who was holding Ax. Smash tackles Arn from behind who's in shock, while Ax pins Tully to become 2-Time WWF Tag Team Champions at 12:56. Demolition catches Heenan who was running backstage and also hit him with the decapitation. Demos celebrate afterwards with the Rockers, Harts and Bushwhackers backstage.

Jesse Ventura in a taped interview catches up with Miss Elizabeth who says she be will be in neither man's corner during the main event.

Mean Gene Okerlund catches Hulk Hogan backstage for the last interview of the night before the big main event. The same interview as the original with the Hulkster finishing it off with "Whatcha gonna do!" of course.

WWF Championship
"Macho Man" Randy Savage © vs. Hulk Hogan
Same great match with Hogan winning at 17:54 with the leg drop. Hogan does the usual pose routine to end the show with Macho walking off the show pissed off.

That's all folks, match results are..

Perfect over Blazer by pinfall at 11:29.

Towers over Rockers at 10:47.

Demos over POP at 10:42.

When I got time though.

Mad Dog - October 13, 2005 10:49 PM (GMT)
I like your booking so far. I think the tag team tournament especially was well booked. Jake chasing Andre around with Damian is always good for a laugh with me.

SamoaRowe - October 13, 2005 10:50 PM (GMT)
Welcome to the folder, it's always good to see a new diary pop up. It was a fun read too, your KOTR show should be interesting :)

Wait a minute...

- Evil villain didn't go over Hogan at the biggest show of the year for the World Title?

- No undercard matches went 25:00 minutes!?!

- Warrior didn't cut an intelligent promo that puts Lanny Poffo to shame?!

For gods sake... this actually makes sense!!!!

Colcollazo - October 15, 2005 08:27 PM (GMT)

user posted image

Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil) over Jake Roberts at 14:23
Randy Savage (w/ Sensational Sherri) over Jim Neidhart at 8:34
Greg Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart) over Ronnie Garvin in a career vs career match at 12:56
Hulk Hogan over the Big Bossman (w/ Slick) in a cage match at 10:01
Jimmy Snuka over Boris Zhukov (w/ Slick) at 3:17

Jake "the Snake" Roberts is out of action for the time being due to a brutal Million Dollar Dream applied by DiBiase which dislocated a disc in Jake's neck. The hold is knocked out Jake to give DiBiase the victory after having the hold on Jake for a couple of minutes. After the match, Virgil grabbed a chair from the Fink at ringside and handed it to DiBiase who smashed it into Jake's neck while he was recieving help from the ref.

Ronnie Garvin is now an official WWF referee due to losing his job as a wrestler in his match with Greg Valentine.

After losing to Hulk Hogan in a cage match on SNME, Bossman grabbed the mic and challennged the Hulkster to rematch at KOTR under Nightstick match rules. Hogan of course accepted.

After squashing Boris Zhukov on SNME, Jimmy Snuka said he wanted a shot at some gold now that he's back in the WWF. So he proceeded to challenge reigning WWF IC Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude to intercontinental championship match at KOTR. Rude came out with Bobby Heenan and accepted saying he'll put to rest the legend of the "Superfly".

Plus, the "Macho Man" Randy Savage's new valet is the Sensational Sherri and Slick is Rick Martel's new manager who now goes by the nickname, "the Model".

Now that that's out the way, let's get down to the King of the Ring tournament brackets. Here are the first rounds results done over the course of April - May 1989.

Bret "the Hitman" Hart over Dino Bravo (w/ Frenchy Martin) by pinfall at 11:19 (April 1989)

Mr. Perfect over Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart by pinfall at 9:46 (April 1989)

"King" Haku (w/ Bobby Heenan) over Hercules by pinfall at 9:56 (April 1989)

the Ultimate Warrior over the Honkytonk Man by pinfall at 9:53 (April 1989)

"the Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil) over Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake by knockout/submission (Million Dollar Dream) at 11:09 (May 1989)

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan over Bad News Brown by DQ after Bad News attacked Duggan with a chair at 6:47 (May 1989)

Tito Santana over Greg "the Hammer" Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart) by pinfall with a roll-up at 12:48 (guest ref was Ron Garvin who caught brass knuckles which Jimmy Hart threw at Valentine during the match) (May 1989)

Rick "the Model" Martel (w/ Slick) over the Red Rooster by pinfall at 10:22 (May 1989)

Now that you're up to date on shit here's the 1989 edition of...

KOTR starts off with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's music playing, which has crowd pop once he comes out and he apparently joins the announce team along with Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse "the Body" Ventura. He says he asked President Jack Tunney for a spot on the WWF announce unit, and he granted him it. He also breaks the news that who wins the King of the Ring tournament tonight will get a shot at the WWF Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam!

Quarter Finals Match
Bret "the Hitman" Hart (w/ Jim Neidhart) vs. Mr. Perfect (w/ the Genius)
In the last post I forgot to mention the Genius debuts after the Perfect/Neidhart match in the first round and he announces (in a poem of course) that he is Perfect's new protege. Anyway, Perfect beats Bret at 14:58 with a small package that Bret originally set up, but the ref distracted by Neidhart who in the ring chasing after Genius who hit him his scroll. While the ref was with Neidhart, Genius pushed over the small package over to have Perfect pinning Bret for the 1, 2, 3. Perfect advances with 2 seconds left in the time-limit after a hard fought match with Bret. This certainly won't be the last of Bret vs Perfect though.

Sean Mooney is backstage with the Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard) who say they have studied their last match with Demolition from WrestleMania 5 and they promise not to make the same mistakes.

Quarter Finals Match
Haku (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. the Ultimate Warrior
Warrior ends this at 9:39 with gorilla press slam/ultimate splash routine. Before he can catch Heenan and do the same, Heenan runs backstage to get ready to manage te Brain Busters in their rematch from the finals of the tag team title tournament from WrestleMania 5. Warrior shakes the ropes before heading back into the locker room for his match with Mr. Perfect.

Sean Mooney is backstage with reigning WWF Tag Team Champions Demolition who are now 2-time WWF Tag Team Champions. Ax says that 2 has become lucky number for the Demos as they are now 2-time champs and are getting set on defeating the Brain Busters for the second time. Smash says that if Bobby Heenan gets involved in this one, that he'll also have his second Decapitation, this time even worse than the one he recieved at WrestleMania.

WWF Tag Team Championship
Demolition (Ax & Smash) © vs. the Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard w/ Bobby "the Brain" Heenan)
After 14:28, Demolition hit the Decapitation on Tully. Ax pined Tully but Arn put Tully's foot on the rope. However the ref does not see this and makes the count anyway. President Jack Tunney saw this and he comes and announces that due to the controversial decision that was just made, the match will be turned into a 2/3 falls match. If Demolition wins the next fall, then they retain the gold, however if the Busters win the next fall, then the match goes to a 3rd fall. Suprisingly enough, the Busters win it with a spike piledriver on a chair behind the ref's back on Smash while Heenan was distracting the ref at 20:49. Brain Busters end up pulling off the upset on Demolition at 26:30 with Arn pinning Ax and Tully nailed Ax from behind with a chair (course while Heenan is with the ref) after Demolition hit Arn a Decapitation. Tully pulls Arn across Ax for the cover and the WWF Tag Team Championship. Camera follows the Brain Busters and Heenan backstage as the celebrate with Andre the Giant, Haku and Rick Rude inthe Heenan Family locker room. Demolition stayed in the ring dissapointed, though they got a standing ovation from the crowd for their efforts.

Quarter Finals Match
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan vs. "the Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil)
DiBiase makes Hacksaw fall asleep with the MDD at 10:22 to advance in the tournament. After the match, Virgil hands DiBiase a dollar to stuff inside Hacksaw's mouth before he wakes up looking for his 2x4. One fact that needs to be known is that DiBiase is going his 2nd back to back KOTR victory as he is the 1988 King of the Ring.

Lord Alfred Hayes is in the ring announcing that some one is about to make their WWF debut momentarily. Dusty Rhodes' American Dream music plays and hecomes out to the ring. He delivers the usual Dusty promo withh the soiythern accent etc, and says the WWF is about embark on a new journey. That is until the Honkytonk Man comes out along with partner Greg Valentine and "the Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart. Honky says Dusty has no business being on this ppv and he wasn't even in the king of the ring tournament. And while Dusty ries to fight them all off, HTM, Valentine and Jimmy gang up on the American Dream. And just when HTM is about to smash Dusty over the head with his guitar, Ronnie Garvin (who's now a ref due to losing a career vs career match with Greg Valentine) helps out Dusty by fighting HTM, Jimmy ang the Hammer off of Dusty.

Quarter Finals Match
Rick "the Model" Martel (w/ Slick) vs. Tito Santana
Great match that has the 2 former Strike Force members go to the 15:00 time-limit. Though that doesn't mean they stop fighting after the match is over. Slick knocks out Tito from behind with a lead pipe from under the ring. Martel spits on Santana afterwards. The results of this actually "the Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase a bye into the final match of the night whether it be against Mr. Perfect or the Ultimate Warrior.

Mean Gene Okerlund is backstage with the Big Bossman who is joined by Akeem. Bossman vows not to lose to the Hulkster again especially since the match is under Nightstick match rules where a nightstick will be hanging from a pole in the northeast corner of the ring. Bossman says he'll savor every moment of beating on Hogan with the nightstick, and that he'll beat him so bad, Hogan won't leave the arena without assistance.

In a taped interview from earlier on today, Jesse "the Body" Ventura catches up with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan backstage who is talking with the lovely Miss Elizabeth. Jesse tells Hogan now that there isn't a cage preventing outside interference, and that both Akeem and Sick can interfere with ease as the match is still under No DQ rules. Hogan responds back by saying that Bossman may have big Akeem and the Slickster but the Hulkster has some tricks up his sleeve as well.

The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) vs. The Fabulous Rougeaus (Jacques Rougeau & Ray Rougeau) (w/ Jimmy Hart)
Eventhough this match is filler, it turns out to be a damn fine match. Rockers beat the Rougeaus with a hurancanrana/moonsault combo, Shawn pins Jacques at 13:03.

Semi Finals Match
Mr. Perfect (w/ the Genius) vs. the Ultimate Warrior
While Warrior does win this match it happens to be by countout once a frustrated Perfect walks out of the match at 10:43.

After walking out Perfect bumps into Snuka who's match is next. Jimmy's drink spilled all over both of them and then they started brawling afterwards. By this time Jimmy's music is playing so officials break it up so Jimmy can re-group for his match.

In another area Sean Mooney is backstage with reigning WWF IC Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude who says Jimmy canteven prepare properly for a match, how can he beat "the Ravishing one".

Mean Gene Okerlund is backstage with "the Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase who says Warrior has had 2 matches while he has had only one. So the advantage is on his side on his way to becoming 2 time King of the Ring.

WWF Intercontinental Championship
"Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby "the Brain" Heenan) © vs. Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
Solid match that has Rude beat Snuka with the Rude Awakening after Snuka missed the Superfly Splash (plus he landed on his injured abdomen from the Perfect fight) at 11:08. Next up is the title match.

WWF Championship: Nightstick Match
Hulk Hogan (w/ Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake & Miss Elizabeth) © vs. the Big Bossman (w/ Akeem & Slick)
Hogan beats the Bossman again only with the nightstick (given to him by the Barber) under his leg for the leg drop at 14:04. After the match was over "the Macho Man" Randy Savage came out with his new valet the Sensational Sherri, and he challenged Hogan to WWF title rematch at SummerSlam. Hogan accepted his challenge.

Now, backstage with the Ultimate Warrior who's already gone through 2 matches is Sean Mooney. Warrior of course goes about with his rambling shit but does it with a bit more intensity cause of what's on the line.

1989 King of the Ring Finals Match
"the Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil) vs. the Ultimate Warrior
After minutes of being locked in the Million Dollar Dream, Warrior musters up the strength to get up and push DiBiase who's behind him, into the turnbuckle corner in order to break the Dream. Warrior does the press slam/splash routine to finish off the 2 time KOTR wannabe, and win the match at 17:29 (final match gets a 20 minute time-limit). While Warrior celebrates with fireworks in the ring, DiBiase walks to the back and on his way, he hears Piper celebrating for the Warrior. So DiBiase goes to the broadcast booth by the entrance way and slaps the Hot Rod. A big melee breaks out and both men are escorted out of the arena. The fireworks are still going, and Warrior is still celebrating. However "Ravishing" Rick Rude along with Bobby "the Brain" Heenan walk out and actually starts applauding Warrior to close the show as Rude will defend his IC title against the same he defeated at WrestleMania 5, the Ultimate Warrior. A staredown between the two, closes the show.

HOLY FUCK THAT TOOK LONG TO TYPE UP! Anyway, next ppv of course is SummerSlam. Here are the match results...

Perfect over Bret at 14:58

Warrior over Haku at 9:39

Busters over Demos at 26:30

DiBiase over Duggan at 10:22

Martel and Tito fight to a draw at the 15 minute time-limit

Rockers over Rougeaus at 13:03

Warrior over Perfect by countout (Perfect's still undefeated by pinfall and submission) at 10:43.

Rude over Snuka at 11:08

Hogan over Bossman at 14:04

Warrior over DiBiase at 17:29

Blue Blazer is gone from the roster, Dusty is added to it and the Twin Towers are back to being an active team now that the Hogan vs Bossman program is done. Next ppv is...

Dusty Rhodes over The Brooklyn Brawler at 7:38
The Rockers (w/ Tito Santana) over The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (w/ Jimmy Hart, Rick Martel & Slick) at 15:22
"Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil) over "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka" by DQ at 9:12
Demolition and The Twin Towers (w/ Slick) fight to a double countout at 9:39
"Macho Man" Randy Savage (w/ Sensational Sherri) over The Ultimate Warrior at 14:26

Ronnie Garvin is now officially re-instated as an active WWF wrestler after punching Greg 'The Hammer" Valentine after a heated disagreement which allowed Koko B. Ware to rollup Valentine for the win. The punch by Garvin got him fired as a ref by Jack Tunney.

A 6-Man Tag Team Match has now been booked in place of the original singles match between Rick Martel and Tito Santana after the big melee after the Rockers/Rougeaus match at SNME.

Demolition and The Twin Towers will chose their suprise partners for their 6-Man Tag Team Match as SummerSlam stemming from their double countout decision on SNME.

During an in ring interview with the Brain Busters and Bobby Heenan concerning their win against Demolition at the King of the Ring, the Hart Foundation interrupted by saying now that the KOTR tournament is finished, they're back together as a team and challenged Arn & Tully to a tag team title match at SummerSlam. The Brain Busters accepted the challenge.

After beating the Brawler, Dusty began doing his dancing routine which was cut in by HTM and Jimmy Hart who said he won't be dancing around once he's done with him at SummerSlam.

Roddy Piper who was doing his last bit of commentary work before his match with DiBiase at SummerSlam was hit with a quarter by DiBiase which of course pissed him off which led to the DQ decision of the DiBiase/Snuka. Mr. Perfect ran down afterwards along with The Genius and they attacked the Superfly as well. A shitload of officials came down to try and seperate all parties.

Just before his match with Warrior, Randy Savage challenged Warrior for his newly won KOTR crown which would make him the King of the Ring. Savage happens to beat the Warrior to get the crown but not without some interference by the IC Champ, Rick Rude. Who tripped Warrior for Savage to connect with his patented flying elbow. The decision is disputed by Jack Tunney nonetheless who stills holds the King of the Ring name to the Ultimate Warrior. In a promo afterwards, Savage referred to himself as the Macho King and called his valet Sherri, the new Sensational Queen Sherri. He topped it off by saying he wants to face the WWF Champion Hulk Hogan inside a steel cage to settle it once and for all. Hogan accepted weeks later on Superstars saying he'd also have the Barber and Miss Elizabeth by his side.

The late great Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse "The Body" Ventura will be on the announcing job as usual and Mean Gene Okerlund, Sean Mooney, Jesse Ventura (taped), the late great Lord Alfred Hayes, Hillbilly Jim and Vince McMahon will be doing backstage shit. Next post is the 1989 edition of...

...again Beefcake and Zeus aren't main eventing though.

Scrooge McSuck - October 22, 2005 02:55 PM (GMT)
Still looking good, but I only have one (minor) gripe, and excuse me for being picky. SNME only ran for 90 minutes (including plenty of commercials). The match times wouldn't allow that much to be shown, including entrances, post-match stuffs, interviews, etc. etc.

Colcollazo - October 23, 2005 03:52 AM (GMT)
Hmm, good point, I'll try to narrow down the SNME work down to 45 minutes & 5 matches tops. I know I said next post was gonna be SummerSlam, but there's still a few more notes I need to point out before the ppv. All this is from the Superstars episode the week before SummerSlam.

- After months of challenging and defeating any combination of 2 jobbers in several handicap matches each week on superstars since losing in the first round of the KOTR tournament, Bad News Brown defeated both Boris Zhukov and Nikolai Volkoff in just under 4 minutes. A pissed Slick fired both Zhukov and Volkoff due to the brutal loss. Bad News picked up the mic after the match and said that Bad News Brown in back in full form and he wants a WWF title shot. Bad News then challenged whoever is WWF Champion after SummerSlam (Hogan or Savage) to a WWF title match on the late September edition of SNME.

- Jack Tunney announces that a second KOTR tournament will be held all throughout September to crown an undisputed 1989 WWF King of the Ring. The culminating match will be held on the late September SNME.

- After a fan decided dancing contest between Dusty and HTM (winner was Dusty), a pissed HTM and Jimmy Hart remained in the ring. The Red Rooster who made entrance to the ring for his jobber match was hit by HTM's guitar and had to be stretchered out. Rooster's match had to be cancelled.

- After a heated argument re-capped from prime-time wrestling (panel is Piper, Heenan, Vince, Monsoon, Ventura and Hillbilly Jim) between Roddy Piper and Bobby Heenan over the Rude vs Warrior match, Heenan threw water in Piper's face which led to Piper knocking Heenan out with a left hook. Afterwards the WWF IC Champ Rick Rude attacked Piper from behind with a steel chair in the back of the head knocking him out as well. Which led to Piper needing stitches.

- After a Big Bossman vs jobber match, Dusty Rhodes hit the ring and attacked Bossman with BBM's spare nightstick from ringside in order to save the jobber he and Slick were beating up with his nightstick who was also handcuffed to the ropes.

- The Powers of Pain along with Mr. Fuji returned after a 4 month hiatus from leaving shortly after WrestleMania 5 in the tag team title tournament. They came back and defeated some jobber team in under a minute.

- Final vignettes are shown for the ppv.

WWF SummerSlam 1989 is next...

WWF Tag Team Championship
The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard w/ Bobby Heenan) © vs. The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hitman" Hart & Jim 'The Anvil" Neidhart)

Match kicks off the show immediately and it's the same original great match with the same finish. Busters retain the tag titles after Arn hits Bret with a double axe handle off the top rope behind the ref's back, which allows Tully to pin Bret at 16:23.

A taped interview by Sean Mooney has HTM do his trash talk routine about Dusty and he also says he don't give a damn what condition what condition the Red Rooster is in currently as he got in his way while the HTM was mad.

Live interview with Sean Mooney and Dusty Rhodes has Dusty saying he's gonna be doing the shake, rattle and rollin next up in his match with Honky and that if the Big Bossman ever attempts to brutalize another wrestler (jobber) while the american dream is watching, he'll the same thing he did last week.

"American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs. The Honkytonk Man (w/ Jimmy Hart)
Dusty wins this one to end the short Dusty/HTM program with a Bionic Elbow at 9:36 after Jimmy Hart accidentally blasts HTM with his guitar. Dusty dances afterwards with a big Dusty Rhodes fan in polkadots (Sapphire) with Bossman's spare nightstick.

In a taped vignette, the Superfly says he's set to out teach Mr. Perfect one perfect lesson that he hasn't learned yet.

Lord Alfred Hayes is backstage with Mr. Perfect and The Genius. Genius gives out the usual witty poem about Snuka growing up on a dot in the pacific and how Perfect's set out to send him back there. Much like one of DiBiase's promos from around this time. Perfect says he's younger and faster than Snuka and he's also about to prove one thing that Snuka isn't as well, which is perfect.

Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) vs. "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka
Perfect pulls off the suprising upset and remains undefeated by beating the Superfly at 10:21 with a Perfect Plex after Genius hit Snuka with his metal-plated graduation cap while Perfect was with the ref.

In a taped vignette, The Ultimate Warrior of course as usual goes off on his non-sensical promo, this time about lightning not striking twice and that Rude will defeat him again, yet he will regain what's rightfully his.

Six-Man Tag Team Match
The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (Jacques & Raymond Rougeau) & "The Model" Rick Martel (w/ Jimmy Hart & Slick) vs. The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) & Tito Santana
Same good match with the Rougeaus and Martel winning after Martel plants an elbow on Jannetty and the ref aint lookin as Marty has Raymond pinned. Martel makes the pin at 14:58. After this match, the Hot Rod's music after the ring is cleared and his makes way to the broadcast table at ringside for guest commentary.

Taped interview backstage with Mean Gene Okerlund and the "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil) who says since this is Piper's official return match since leaving the WWF, that he'll be sure to make this homecoming a very profitable one for himself and to make it a nightmare for Roddy Piper.

Mean Gene Okerlund is backstage with the reigning WWF IC Champ "Ravishing" Rick Rude and his manager Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. I wouldn't change a damn thing about it as Mean Gene saying fuck is hilarious. Rude talks a little bit more about Piper than Warrior in his promo though strangely.

WWF Intercontinental Championship
"Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) © vs. The Ultimate Warrior

Incredible match which stays the same as the original with Warrior winning with a back suplex followed by the Ultimate Splash at 16:02 after Rude gets mooned by Piper at ringside.

In a taped interview, Jesse "The Body" Ventura catches up with Slick, Bossman and Akeem in an attempt to find out who they have as their partner for their match against. Slick only said that who they've chosen is extremely dangerous just like them.

Hillbilly Jim is backstage with former WWF Tag Team Champs Demolition who say that the Twin Towers aren't gonna love who they have in store for them as their tag team partner in the six man tag.

Six-Man Tag Team Match
Demolition (Ax & Smash) & ??? vs. The Twin Towers (Akeem & The Big Bossman) & ??? (w/ Slick)
Towers come out first accompanied Haku from the Heenan Family along with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. Demolition than make their entrance followed by "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, who ends up winning the match for the team by pinning Akeem after cracking Akeem over the back with his 2x4 at 9:13.

Lord Alfred Hayes is backstage with the "Macho King" Randy Savage along with the Sensational "Queen" Sherri who they're going to put the final nail in the coffin for Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania after tonight and he also mentions that he's more than ready for Bad News Brown (see above post for the Bad News WWF title challenge).

Greg "The Hammer" Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs. Hercules
"Rugged" Ronnie Garvin is ringside for this match. Valentine beats Herc in a solid match at 10:03 with rollup along with pulling Herc's tights. An angry Garvin knocks out Valentine after the match with a straight left hook which continues Garvin vs Valentine.

Sean Mooney is backstage with the Ultimate Warrior who cuts an excited, yet still non-sensical promo how it feels to be IC Champ again for the second time. Interview is interrupted by Bobby Heenan who says Warrior didn't win it fair and that Rude still has Warrior's number. Before Warrior can get his hands on Heenan, Andre the Giant comes from behind (who hasn't wrestled since my first card, WM 5), and he smashes Warrior over the back with a chair. Afterwards officials are needed to stop Andre's head-squeeze hold on Warrior who has lost consciousness due to the hold.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper vs. "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil)
DiBiase got the dirty win with the MDD at 14:46 after now former IC Champ "Ravishing" Rick Rude interfered behind the ref's back and hit the Rude Awakening on the uncovered concrete arena floor with opened Piper's stitches behind his head. For a few seconds, much to shock of the announcers Jesse and Gorilla, Jake "The Snake's" music plays for a few seconds to a BIG ASS POP which has DiBiase looking around in paranoia for a few seconds before rushing to the back with Virgil. Rude continued the attack after the match on a laid out Piper.

For the last interview of the night, Vince McMahon is backstage with Hogan, Beefcake and Elizabeth and Hogan says win or lose this is the last mile in the Hogan/Savage rivalry (though in real life it'd continue up until to now), and that he's set on his holding on to the title for a long while to come. He mentions that Bad News better be ready for him after tonight.

WWF Championship: Steel Cage Match
Hulk Hogan (w/ Miss Elizabeth & Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake) © vs. "Macho King" Randy Savage (w/ Sensational Queen Sherri)

The champ wins this incredible cage match by climbing out the cage after dropping 4 leg drops to the Macho King at 18:36. Both men were bloodied up after the match, Savage because of Hogan grinding his face in the cage and Hogan because of Sherri slamming the door in his face while attempting to get out of the cage. Standing ovation is given to both men out of respect after the match, Monsoon and Ventura put them both over (eventhough Savage is heel).

That's a rap, here are the match results.

Busters over Harts at 16:23.

Dusty over HTM at 9:36.

Perfect over Snuka at 10:21.

Rougeaus & Martel over Rockers & Tito at 14:58.

Warrior over Rude at 16:02.

Demos & Duggan over Towers & Akeem at 9:13.

Valentine over Herc at 10:03.

DiBiase over Piper at 14:46

Hogan over Savage at 18:36.

As you should already know, the Powers of Pain have returned to action, the Red Rooster is temporarily out of action due to a guitar shot given to him by the Honkytonk Man and a second KOTR tournament has been booked by Jack Tunney for the month of September. Next PPV will be the 1989 edition of...

Now before we get into the September edition of SNME, a week before SummerSlam, WWF President Jack Tunney announced that there'd be a second KOTR tournament. This would be done due to the controversial result of the Randy Savage vs. Ultimate Warrior from the July 89 SNME in which the KOTR crown was up for grabs. Tunney also announced that the culminating match of the tourney would be held at the September SNME after a month's worth of tornament rounds on WWF Superstars. So here's the tournament results folks...

First Round:

"The Macho King" Randy Savage (w/ Sensational "Queen" Sherri) over Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka at 9:49
Macho puts the Superfly away with the Macho King Elbow Drop after Genius knocked Snuka out with his metal-plated graduation cap while Sherri and Mr. Perfect were distracting the ref. The metal-plated graduation cap hit by Genius gave Snuka a concussion.

Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) over Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake at 10:16
Perfect goes over the Barber clean with the perfect plex, but afterwards an injured Snuka comes back to ringside with a bunch of officials holding him back from the back with his head wrapped up. These past 2 matches are from the same superstars episode.

The Big Bossman (w/ Slick) over "The Birdman" Koko B. Ware at 9:36
Bossman beats the Birdman after a solid match with the Sidewalk Slam. Afterwards though, both BBM and Slick handcuff a drained Koko to the ropes but before they can beat the Birdman down, "the American Dream" Dusty Rhodes runs to ringside with the same nightstick he stole from BBM from before SummerSlam and he knocks BBM over the ropes with a swift shot to the jaw. Slick yells at Dusty while taking Bossman to the back that this isn't over. Dusty finds some keys BBM left at ringside and uncuffs Koko from the ropes. They both dance to Dusty's music afterward .

Rick "The Model" Martel (w/ Slick) over over Hercules at 9:56
Martel beats Herc with a rollup and a handfull of tights.

Tito Santana over Greg "The Hammer" Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart) at 11:24
Tito defeats his old rival from the mid 80s with a small package after Valentine was distracted and was busy arguing with "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin at ringside. After the match however Rick "The Model" Martel and Slick jumped Tito behind with a lead pipe and attacked him along with Valentine and Jimmy Hart. Garvin broke it up when he ran into the ring with a chair. Tito suffered internal bleeding and broken from a few shots with the lead pipe in the attack.

"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes over Akeem (w/ Slick) at 8:23
Dusty wins this one after a missed shot at him by BBM with the nightstick while Akeem was holding him. The nightstick shot to the head knocked the african dream out which had him pinned for Dusty. Afterwards BBM attempted to bumrush Dusty before he could get up from the pin but Dusty rolled out the ring in time and picked BBM's spare nightstick from a weeks back to even it up. BBM and Slick told Dusty to not worry and that he'll his hands on him sooner or later.

"Rugged" Ronnie Garvin over The Honkytonk Man at 9:01
Garvin beats HTM with an inverted victory rollup after a collision between HTM and Valentine on the apron while Jimmy Hart was with the ref.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan over Haku at 9:52
Hacksaw finishes Haku with a 4 point stance after he irish whips Haku into the Brain & Haku collides head to head with Bobby Heenan who was trying to distract the ref.

Second Round:

"The Macho King" Randy Savage (w/ Sensational "Queen" Sherri) over Tito Santana at 12:33
I woner how an 89 Savage vs Tito match would've turned out. Anyway Macho beats Tito clean with an elbow drop straight to the injured ribs of Tito. Afterwards Martel and Slick talk shit about Tito in the ring along with a few kicks to Tito's injured ribs after that.

Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) over "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin at 10:03
Perfect beats Garvin with a Perfect Plex after Valentine costs Garvin the match with a guillotine off the rope from the apron. Ref don't see this as he's with the Genius.

"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes over Rick "The Model" Martel at 9:37
Dusty wins with rollup after Martel is distracted in a yelling contest with Tito Santana who is being held back by WWF officials and wrestlers at the entrance way.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan over The Big Bossman at 10:26
Duggan beats the Bossman after a low blow which the ref didnt catch. Bosman was holding Hacksaw in place for a nightstick hit by Slick while Akeem was with the ref. Turns out that Dusty pulls Slick off the apron, and knocks him out with a Bionic Elbow. Duggan catches Bossman with a low blow after Dusty came for the save and pins him after a 4 point stance.

Third Round:

"The Macho King" Randy Savage over "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes at 10:17
Macho beats Dusty with a flying elbow straight to the rib area after a shot to the ribs by the Bossman while Sherri was with the ref.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan over Mr. Perfect at 10:04 by countout
Hacksaw doesn't pin or make Perfect submit of course but Perfect throws the tournament all away in a brawl wth Jimmy Snuka outside the ring. After Snuka attacked The Genius from behind after coming into ringside through the crowd. Officials are needed to break this up.

So the finals are...

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan vs. "The Macho King" Randy Savage (w/ Sensational "Queen" Sherri)

Who would've thought big good ol' Hacksaw would've made it to the finals?

These are a few other things going down....

Other things going down while this tournament is being done includes Andre the Giant attacking the Ultimate Warrior again after a jobber match in which he won of course but was greeted by Bobby Heenan at the entrance way while UW was making his way backstage. Bobby was making fun of UW which pissed off the Warrior but before he could get his hands on Bobby, Andre comes from behind with a big headbutt to the back of the head. Andre did a mean head crusher on UW for a minute or two before officials got him off the Warrior. Warrior suffered a minor concussion from the attack and had to stay home for a couple of weeks. In these weeks, Andre mocked the Warrior on the Brother Love show by wearing the Ultimate Warrior makeup and by running to the ring in his entance to a jobber match and shaking the ropes like Warrior. Warrior is set to return at the September SNME for a face to face conference with Andre the Giant and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan along with Mean Gene Okerlund.

Every single week after defeating jobbers on Superstars, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase has called out Jake "The Snake" Roberts' each week ever since hearing Jake's music at SummerSlam after the DiBiase vs Piper match. There has been no response which has frustrated DiBiase, up until the 4th week before the SNME in which a voice which sounds like Jake's said he's coming.

Roddy Piper vs Mr. Perfect and Rick Rude vs Jimmy Snuka have been booked for the September SNME along with a 7 Tag Team Battle Royal to determine the number 1 contender's for the WWF Tag Team Champions, The Brain Busters. All 4 superstars (Piper, Snuka, Rude, Perfect) have been interviwed individually on superstars concerning their rivals (Piper vs Rude of course and Perfect vs Snuka of course) and opponents for the Sept. SNME.

Also, Bad News Brown challenged whoever's WWF Champion after SummerSlam match between Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage. Both accepted during interviews at SummerSlam, so it's Hulk Hogan (w/ Miss Elizabeth) vs. Bad News Brown at the Sept. SNME as well. What a month that would be in reality, anyway next up is the September 1989 edition of...

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper over Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) by disqualification at 9:44
Hot Rod goes over Perfect but of course by DQ when Rick Rude who was doing some guest commentary with Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura, ran into the ring just as Piper was getting ready to lock the sleeper on Perfect. The ref caught Rude when he dropped Piper with the Rude Awakening, both Perfect, Rude and Genius stomped on Piper until Jimmy Snuka ran down with a chair to clear the ring.

WWF Championship
Hulk Hogan (c w/ Miss Elizabeth) and Bad News Brown fight to a double countout at 10:15
This shit ends with a double countout due to both Hulk and Bad News being inseperatable once they started fighting out at ringside. Shitload of officials are needed to break them up.

"Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby 'The Brain" Heenan) over Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka at 8:16
Rude wins one clean with a little help from Perfect who pushed Snuka off the rope while he setting up a double axe handle for a dazed Rude while Heenan was with the ref. Rude wakes up and hits the Rude Awakening for the win.

Tag Team Battle Royal
#1 Contenders for the WWF Tag Team Championship
The Rockers over Demolition, The Bushwhackers, The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers, The Hart Foundation, Rhythm & Blues, & The Twin Towers at 7:29
Rockers win after last eliminating the Fabulous Rogeaus with a stereo dropkick over the top. Therefore, they got a shot at the WWF Tag Team Champion, the Brain Busters at next month's SNME.

During this match, the Red Rooster returned and eliminated the Honkytonk Man along with Ronnie Garvin who eliminated Greg Valentine.

Dusty Rhodes (with wrap around his mid-section for his injured ribs)also intefered by pulling down the ropes while Demolition were attempting to eliminate the Big Bossman.

Demolition and POP were both disqualified for staying out of the ring for too long eventhough neither team was eliminated, the two team were engaged in a big brawl and needed to be seperated by WWF officials.

Undisputed 1989 WWF King of the Ring Finals Match
"The Macho King" Randy Savage (w/ Sensational "Queen" Sherri) over "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan at 10:31
Macho wins the tourney after a very good carryjob in order to become the Undisputed 1989 WWF King of the Ring. Finish came when Sherri while ditracting the ref, tossed Macho his sceptor. After that, Duggan was blasted with the sceptor, laying for him out temporarily for the flying elbow. During Macho's coronation, Duggan has to be held back by officials all the way to the back.

Randy Savage is now officially "The Macho King", and Sensational Sherri is "Sensational Queen" B) .

During this SNME between the the tag team battle royal and the KOTR match, the big Andre/Warrior face-to-face conference was held in the ring concerning their issues. The IC Champ Warrior was given the mic first and of course, went on to to do his rambling shit about how far Andre and Heenan have pushed this thing. The Brain interrupted the Warrior and made a hugge anbnouncement, announcing that he and Andre the Giant challenge the Warrior to a Survivor Series elimination match at Suirvivor Series. Warrior accepted and hit Andre and knocked him out the ring with a huge running clothesline to a big pop, Heenan ran backstage before UW can get his hands on him too. Fans pop loud for Warrior as he shakes the ropes and runs backstage.

This SNME episode also features the returns of Jake "The Snake" Roberts. The return happens after DiBiase calls Jake out 1 more time and outta nowhere with no music, Jake comes out from the crowd, hops the rail and his DDT's Virgil. Before he can get to DiBiase, the Million Dollar Man hitails it to the back. Jake cuts a promo after on how hard it was to sit back and watch wrestling and not be apart on those months. And that it's all one man's fault and that's Ted DiBiase. Jake's caps it off by saying he will not rest until DiBiase feels the same bite (pun is intended) of pain that he felt while he was out of action. Virgil has to be stretchered out after a second DDT by Jake  . Virgil has to wear a neck brace now.

Well there's the first of these 2 SNME's before we head into the next ppv which the 1989 edition of the Survivor Series. So there it is, next up is the October SNME which the last stop on the road to Survivor Series so look out.

October...

Scrooge McSuck - November 5, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
Storylines making sense and not being pulled out of thin air = awesome. Thank goodness Jim Duggan didn't win the King Title.. I can't sit through that shit again. :P

Colcollazo - November 9, 2005 12:34 AM (GMT)
Here's some recapping I need to do before the October SNME, all this stuff is from the Superstars episode from 2 weeks before the October SNME.

At the beginning of the program in a vignette, WWF President Jack Tunney announced that "Macho King" Randy Savage and Greg "The Hammer" Valentine would team together at Survivor Series to face "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin. He announced that both teams would have to find 2 other other team members before the Survivor Series Elimination Match.

He also announced that The Heenan Family consisting of Andre The Giant, current WWF Tag Team Champions The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard) and Haku would be the combination (leaving out "Ravishing" Rick Rude, The Brooklyn Brawler and...Bobby "The Brain" Heenan ) to face The Ultimate Warrior's team consisting of The Ultimate Warrior and the #1 contenders for the WWF Tag Team Titles, The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels).

Tunney also mentioned that Warrior has to find a 3rd tag team partner. Among other things, Tunney also announced that Jake "The Snake" Roberts would officially return at the Survivor Series teaming up with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan as The Hulkamaniacs to face The Million Dollar Team which so far consists of "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Bad News Brown. Jack Tunney mentioned that he will find he partners that are suitable for these 2 combustable elements.

He also announced The Dream Team so far consisting of "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, Tito Santana and The Red Rooster will face The Enforcers which consists is The Big Bossman, Rick 'The Model" Martel and The Honkytonk Man. Dusty and Bossman would have to find their 3rd tag partners.

And last but not least, he announced officially, that Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) and "Ravishing" Rick Rude would team up to face the team of Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Of course those 2 teams would have to find their 2 tag partners in order for the match to take place, and a coin toss will be held to determine who will be team captain for both teams on this edition of Superstars.

So here's the recap of what is so far, the 1989 WWF Survivor Series card.

The Ultimate Warriors (WWF IC Champion The Ultimate Warrior, Marty Jannetty, Shawn Michaels & ???) vs. The Heenan Family (Andre The Giant, WWF Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard & Haku)

The Hulkamaniacs (WWF Champion Hulk Hogan, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, ??? & ???) vs. The Million Dollar Team ("Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil) & Bad News Brown, ??? & ???)

Team Captain "Macho King" Randy Savage, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart), ??? & ??? (yet to be named) vs. Team Captain "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin, ??? & ??? (yet to be named)

Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius), "Ravishing" Rick Rude, ??? & ??? vs. Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, ??? & ???

The Dream Team ("American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, The Red Rooster, Tito Santana & ???) vs. The Enforcers (The Big Bossman, The Honkytonk Man, Rick "The Model" Martel & ???)

- Dino Bravo (w/ new manager Jimmy Hart) returned after a 4 month hiatus after losing in the first round of the original KOTR tournament and defeated Iron Mike Sharpe in less than a minute with a Side Suplex.

- Greg "The Hammer" Valentine deafeated Hercules by pinfall at 7:23
Dino Bravo and Jimmy Hart stayed at ringside for the match and while Jimmy Hart was distracting the ref, Bravo caught Herc with a big low blow, which allowed Valentine to plant Herc with a double arm DDT for the win. Valentine, Bravo and Jimmy Hart all celebrated in the ring. Savage came out with Sherri during this and announced that Dino Bravo was the 3rd member of the team and he announced the team would be named appropriately "The King's Court". Bravo mentioned after this that he'd bring in the 4th team member next week on Superstars. Bravo, Valentine, Jimmy Hart, Macho and Sherri all jumped Herc for a few secs until "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin ran down with 2x4's and cleared the ring. While Garvin helped Herc, Duggan picked up the mic and asked Herc if he would be the 3rd team member for "The 4x4's". Herc yelled out yes, making it 3 vs 3 so far.

- The Big Bossman (w/ Slick & Akeem) defeated Barry Horowitz by pinfall at 2:33
After the match, Bossman simply announced that his tag partner Akeem would be the 4th member of The Enforcers, making 4 vs 3 so far against The Dream Team.

- Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart defeated some jobber in under a minute by pinfall with a running shoulder tackle. Before Neidhart can leave backstage, Jim Duggan, Ronnie Garvin and Hercules stop him, and Fuggan who's with a mic, asks Neidhart if he'd like to be the 4th member. Neidhart yells out yes before cracking up laughing like the lunatic he is .

With a shitload of security seperating the ring in have in a straight line, Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) and "Ravishing" Rick Rude are on 1 side of the ring Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper are on the other side. Rude and Piper win their perpective coin tosses, but Rude is given the mic first and announces that his team would be called "Rude's Brood", while Piper said his team would be called "Roddy's Rowdies". Both teams leave the ringside area peacefully with security seperating them, but Rude from a far distance spits right in Piper's face. Rude laughs his ass off with Perfect and Genius while Snuka and security keep Piper away from Rude.

Bret "The Hitman" Hart defeated The Brooklyn Brawler (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) by submission at 5:31
- The Hitman locks on the Sharpshooter on the Brawler making him tap out. Heenan yells in Brawler's ear that he has 3 more chances with him before he fires him from the Heennan Family . After the match, before Bret can mae his way backstage The Ultimate Warrior and The Rockers show up on the screen. Warrior rambles about how impressive that performance by Bret was which makes makes the Hitman smurk, before he heads out to te entrance way with the mic and asks Bret if he's willing to join the team. Bret grabs Warrior's mic and says yes, Heenan at this time is at ringside with the Brawler stomping saying dammit.

Now that that's out of the way, here's the last superstars before the October SNME.

Includes the announcement by WWF President Jack Tunney in which he laid

- The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated two unknown jobbers at the 2 minute mark with a knee drop/boston crab combo. "Ravishing" Rick Rude and Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) were ringside for the bout. Both Rude and Perfect picked up mics and announced that they have chosen the Rougeaus as their tag partners for their Survivor Series match against "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka (who have yet to pick their tag partners for the Series match).

Bret "The Hitman" Hart (w/ The Rockers) defeats Haku (w/ WWF Tag Team Champions The Brain Busters) by submission at 9:46
- This victory makes it the 2nd person from the Heenan Family that Bret has defeated and made submit to the Sharpshooter. But The Brooklyn Brawler, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and Andre The Giant ran down and along with Haku, Arn and Tully attacked Bret, Shawn and Marty before Warrior ran down with a chair. And knocked Andre out of the ring a shot to the back, knocked out Brawler with a shot to the head and cleared the ring of the Brain Busters and Haku. He hit the Gorilla Press Slam on Bobby Heenan though, haha. The Ultimate Warriors celebrated on all 4 corners with a laid out Brooklyn Brawler in the middle of the ring.

- The Bushwhackers defeated two unknown jobbers at around the 2 minute mark with The Battering Ram. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka were ringside for the bout and after they both announced that the Whackers are their tag partners at Survivor Series.

- The current members of the Dream Team (Dusty Rhodes, Tito Santana & The Red Rooster) come out to the ring for a six man tag and they kill some 3 jobbers in around 3 minutes. Afterwards, Dusty announces that their 4th team member will Brutus 'The Barber" Beefcake, Beefcake's music hit and he cuts a promo on how come thanksgiving all for members of the Enforcers will be thankful for "The Barber's" haircut.

Demolition and The Powers of Pain (w/ Mr. Fuji) fight to a double disqualification at 7:12
- WWF President Jack Tunney, along with WWF officials ran down to seperate this 2 teams before Tunney declared this match a double DQ. Tunney also announced that both Demolition and The Powers of Pain would be apart of the Survivor Series match between The Hulkamaniacs and The Million Dollar Team , in which Demolition would team up with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan the returning Jake 'The Snake" Roberts and that The Powers of Pain along with Mr. Fuji would team up with "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil) and Bad News Brown. This decision make both teams complete, set and ready.

Hercules vs. Dino Bravo (w/ Jimmy Hart) is ruled a no contest
- Before the match, Bravo challenged Herc to a pushup contest where both men would have to do pushups with a certain member of the audience sitting on their back. Herc's turn was up first but before he could do 1 pushup with this massive fan on back, the fan jumped and jumped back down doing a sitdown splash on Herc. Jimmy Hart quickly grabbed a mic and gave it to Dino Bravo in which he announced that this his protege from Canada, and he said this is the 4th team member for the King's Court before he started laughing. Jimmy Hart said this is the Canadian Earthquake. Before all three could get their hands on Herc again, Duggan, Garvin and Neidhart all ran down and cleared the ring with 4x4's.

Phew.., now that all of that is out of the way, here's the official Survivor Series card.

"The Ultimate Warriors" (WWF IC Champion The Ultimate Warrior, Marty Jannetty, Shawn Michaels & Bret "The Hitman" Hart) vs. "The Heenan Family" (Andre The Giant, WWF Tag Team Champion Arn Anderson, WWF Tag Team Champion Tully Blanchard & Haku w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan)

Dino Bravo (w/ Jimmy Hart & The Canadian Earthquake) over "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin by pinfall at 6:44
Bravo picks up the win with a full nelson slam, after Garvin was busy choking Jimmy Hart by his tie on the apron. After the match, the Macho King, Queen Sherri and Greg "The Hammer" Valentine all ran down along with Earthquake who was at ringside and they proceeded to jump Garvin. But within a few seconds, Hacksaw, The Anvil and Big Herc ranto the ring with 4x4's to clear the ring.

Rick "The Model" Martel (w/ Slick, The Big Bossman, Akeem, & The Honkytonk Man) and Tito Santana (w/ Dusty Rhodes, The Red Rooster & Brutus Beefcake) fight to a double disqualification 10:56
Ref calls it a double DQ, once all team members began brawling on the outside and took it inside the ring. Ton of officials are needed to seperate everyone in the ringside area.

WWF Championship
Hulk Hogan (w/ Miss Elizabeth) over "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil) by disqualification at 10:30
Hulk picks up the win once Virgil trips Hogan while he was about to hit the leg drop. Both Virgil and DiBiase attack the Hulkster afterwards but Miss Elizabeth runs backstage and brings out Demolition and Jake who of course brings Damien out with him, they clear the ring of both DiBiase and Virgil. But the POP along Mr. Fuji and Bad News Brown come incase Hulk, Demos and Jake wanna continue into a fight. Bunch refs prevent it from going down though.

The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (w/ Jimmy Hart, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect & The Genius) over The Bushwhackers (w/ "Rowdy" Roddy Piper & Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka) by countout at 4:15
Rougeaus get this 1 after they send both Whackers over the top where they get hit up by Jimmy Hart, Rude, Perfect & Genius for the countout. Rougeaus join in too before the Hot Rod and Superfly run to ringside with chairs clear the area.

WWF Tag Team Championship: Best 2 out of 3 Falls Match
The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) over The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) by pinfall at 15:05
Yep, new tag champs, but of course I gotta cover the first 2 falls. First fall happens at 3:17 when Jannetty pins Blanchard with a roll up after Anderson attempted to hold on to Blanchard from the outside but it was broken up by the ref. Second falls happens when both Arn and Tully execute a flapjack/inverted neckbreaker on Michaels while combo. This happens when Heenan is distracting the ref, Arn makes the pin at 8:32. WWF President Jack Tunney sees this shit though and sends the Brain backstage much to the dislike of the Brain Busters. Third and final fall happens when Arn (illegal man) gets a spinebuster reversed on him by Shawn who turns it into a DDT. Tully who is the legal man, catches a superkick to the gut when he tries to hit Shawn with a double axe handle. At this time he tags Marty who hits a quick superkick on Tully which alows Shawn to get to the top to hit a missile dropkick on Tully who gets rolled up from behind by Marty at 15:05 for 1, 2, 3!!! Rockers are new WWF Tag Team Champs!!!!! Both Shawn and Marty quickly run backstage with the straps to the The Ultimate Warriors locker room to pop champagne with Bret and Warrior B) .

Next up is the 1989 edition of the WWF....

1989 WWF Survivor Series Showdown

Tito Santana (w/ Dusty Rhodes) over The Big Bossman (w/ Slick & Akeem) by pinfall at 10:44
Tito picks up the win after Dusty hits Bossman with his own nightstick while Slick and Akeem were trying to tell the ref what Dusty was doing. While this happened, Tito himself was knocked out by a nightstick shot from the Bossman, Dusty puts Tito on top for the win. Rick Martel and the Honkytonk Man ran down to get their hands on Tito along with Akeem and Slick, but Dusty pulled Tito out the ring in time along with some help from Brutus Beefcake and the Red Rooster.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper over Jacques Rougeau (w/ Jimmy Hart) by submission at 10:31
Good match that has Piper put Jacques to sleep with the classic Hot Rod sleeper, afterwards Raymond runs down and attack Roddy along with Jimmy Hart with his megaphone. But to the rescue comes Jimmy Snuka who clears the ring with a steel chair before raising Hot Rod's arm in victory.

"Macho King" Randy Savage (w/ Sensational "Queen" Sherri) over Hercules by pinfall at 8:29
Macho put Herc away the elbow after Herc gets knocked out by Bravo who was tossed Macho's sceptor by Sherri just outside of the the ref's view while Sherri was talking with the ref. Hacksaw quickly runs to the ring, knocking Bravo over the top with the 2x4.

"Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil) over Demolition Smash (w/ Ax) by pinfall at 8:16
DiBiase gets the pin after Bad News Brown came to ringside and knocked out Smash with a chairshot when Smash thrown over the top by DiBiase. Virgil distracted the ref while Brown attacked Smash. Ax ran down to ringside before both DiBiase and Bad News could jump double team Smash. Ax managed to knock out Virgil with a chairshot with the same chair Bad News got to Smash with.

WWF IC Champion The Ultimate Warrior over Tully Blanchard (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) by pinfall at 9:10
Warrior pins Tully clean with the Warrior press slam + slam, afterwards Bobby calls Arn down to ringside to jump the Warrior from behind but eventually Warrior press slams him too, and finishes him a splash. And before Bobby can to the back, Warrior catches him too, and does the same routine to close the show.

Before the PPV begins, WWF President Jack Tunney announced that next month in December there'd be a PPV named No Holds Barred, and that very soon the card will be announced...

After that, the show kicks with a bunch of vignettes ranging from all the top WWF superstars on what they're thankful for. Hulk Hogan is thankful for his team of Hulkamaniacs. "The Million $ Man" Ted DiBiase is thankful that he's so filthy rich. Jake "The Snake" Roberts is thankful for Damien and the DDT. Demolition is thankful they don’t have to fight each other. "Macho King" Randy Savage is thankful for his Queen Sherri and that he's the only man worthy of being the Macho King, oooh yea! Dino Bravo is thankful for the big Canadian Earthquake. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan is thankful for his team of 4 x 4's, and for his 2x4. "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes is thankful for all his trusty fans and his polkadots. The Big Bossman is thankful for the justice he serves and for the hard time he gets to inflict. Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake is thankful for wrestling, cutting and strutting. "The Model" Rick Martel is thankful for his good looks. "Ravishing" Rick Rude is thankful for his ravishing body. 'Rowdy" Roddy Piper says he's thankful that he's not Rick Rude. The Genius is thankful for being the world's smartest man. Mr. Perfect is thankful for being absolutely perfect. The Bushwhackers are thankful for having a bunch of turkey tonight. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan is thankful for having Thanksgiving with the Heenan Family. The Ultimate Warrior is thankful for how strong his team of Warriors is, he just says in his usual Warrior nonsense to finish up the vignette.

Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse "The Body" Ventura are of course the announcers for the night but Gorilla has promised to call his partner Jesse "The Pilgrim" Ventura for the rest of the night, Jesse in return calls Gorilla, "Turkey" Monsoon . Onto the card.

Survivor Series Elimination Match
The Dream Team ("The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, Tito Santana, The Red Rooster & Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake) over The Enforcers (The Big Bossman, "The Model" Rick Martel, The Honkytonk Man & Akeem w/ Slick & Jimmy Hart) at 22:04
This kicks off the show and the first elimination happens once The Model rolls up Tito Santana from behind at 9:44 as Tito had Slick by his tie on the apron. Next elimination occurs once Dusty moves out of the way from a splash by Akeem, and drops a bionic elbow for the pin at 15:27. Next one happens when Beefcake dodges a megaphone swing by the Honkytonk Man (Rooster grabs it from behind) and he nails HTM with a high knee to the face for the pin at 17:26. Next up, Bossman catches the Red Rooster with a sidewalk slam as he came off the ropes at 20:15. After this, The Barber pins The Model with the sunset flip after the ref kicked The Model's hands while he was holding on to the ropes and blocking the pin at 21:00. Last pin goes down once the momentum of a crossbody from the Bossman sends Dusty on top of Bossman for the pin and the match. Making "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes and Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake the survivors of this match. However, after the pin Slick quickly tossed Bossman his nightstick in which Bossman knocked Dusty upside the face with it. Slick then handcuffed Dusty to the bottom rope and Bossman got in a few shots in the ribs before The Barber ran back down to the ring with a chair to clear the ring. Beefcake helps The Dream backstage.
Survivors: Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake & "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes

Backstage Sean Mooney is with Bossman and Slick who claim that Dusty is their official prisoner and that whenever they feel like it, they'll do the same thing they just did to Dusty over and over again. Slick finishes it off by saying that Dusty just got the worst beating of his big fat life , just like the original stuff he said.

Now in a taped interview, Sean Mooney is with The King's Court (which is Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Dino Bravo, The Canadian Earthquake and it's captained by "Macho King" Randy Savage along with "Queen" Sherri and Jimmy Hart). They all put in their two cents, with Macho saying that Hacksaw will never be the real king of the WWF, The Hammer and Jimmy Hart say they'll put Rugged Ronnie out for good this time, and Dino Bravo and Earthquake mention how they'll put the final nail in the coffin for Herc, and The Anvil's coming along with him.

Survivor Series Elimination Match
The King's Court ("Macho King" Randy Savage, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Dino Bravo & The Canadian Earthquake w/ Sensational "Queen" Sherri & Jimmy Hart) over The 4 x 4's ("Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin, Hercules & Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) at 20:30
King's Court come to the ring first, but the 4 x 4's quickly clear up the ring with their 2x4's to a big pop. First one to go home is The Anvil after a sitdown splash from the big Earthquake at 3:30. Second one to hit the bricks is Hercules who also gets a sitdown rom Earthquake but behind the ref's back while Sherri was with the ref, Macho hits Herc with the big elbow for the pin at 9:48. Third elimination occurs once big Hacksaw gives The Hammer a running clothesline after he dodged down one from Rugged Ronnie at 13:53. Next up, Macho finishes Rugged Ronnie with the big elbow at 17:40, once The Hammer ran back to ringside and tripped Ronnie as he was coming off the ropes behind the ref's back. This leaves big Hacksaw all alone for the next three minutes against Bravo, Earthquake and Macho until he of course gets counted out after Queen Sherri pulls the top rope down as Macho gave Hacksaw the irish whip. After the countout the King's Court celebrate in the ring with Jimmy Hart and Queen Sherri but eventually Hacksaw clears the ring after he finds his 2x4.
Survivors: Dino Bravo, "Macho King" Randy Savage & The Canadian Earthquake

Next up, in another taped interview, Jesse "The Body" Ventura is with The Million $$$$ Team (which is Bad News Brown, The Barbarian, The Warlord and it's captained by "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase along with Mr. Fuji and Virgil). DiBiase basically says the same thing he originally says by saying he has shown the POP and Mr. Fuji their victory money and how it's pleased them if they take down Demolition. And his cash has made Bad News promised not to walk out on the team and to personally take care of business with the Hulkster. DiBiase also says that he's dying to Jake back in the hospital, and he and Mr. Fuji end it off with one big devilish laugh B).

Mean Gene Okerlund by the first aid room reporting that Dusty has a case of bruised ribs and a slight concussion due to the brutal attack of the Big Bossman. Mean Gene also that he had a word with Dusty and he said soner or later he's gonna give Bossman and Slick what's coming to them.

Before the next match between the Million $$$$ Team and The Hulkamaniacs, The Genius of course gives out 1 of his witty ass poems.

Survivor Series Elimination Match
The Hulkamaniacs (WWF Champion Hulk Hogan, Jake "The Snake" Roberts & Demolition w/ Miss Elizabeth) over The Million $$$$ Team ("The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Bad News Brown & The Powers of Pain w/ Mr. Fuji & Virgil) at 23:49
Million $$$$ Team hits the ring first but without DiBiase's classic theme of course. They cover the ring till the Hulkster is at ringside and Jake decides to let Damien loose to clear things up. Fast foward to the first elimination which happens at 3:20 once the ref DQ's Bad News Brown after Bad News pushed him when the ref caught Bad News with brass knucks he got from his trunks, in which he intended to hit the Hulk with as he had his back turned. Bad News argued with the ref until the Hulk clotheslined him from behind, gave him a big boot and tossed him over the top rope. A few ref's are needed to get Bad News from ringside as he still wanted a piece of the Hulkster. Second elimination once Warlord drops a big elbow on Ax after Fuji tripped Ax from the outside at 9:49. Next one comes at 15:41 once Barbarian catches Smash with a running lariat as they were both coming off the ropes, but Fuji tripped Smash (just he did with Ax), giving Barbarian the advantage and the pin at 19:40. That makes Fuji screw over Demolition in both decisions, Demos never lose clean B). Next up, the POP are DQ'd for double teaming Jake eventhough only Warlord was legal. Next up, as Jake had DiBiase set up in the middle ring, Virgil pulled down the top rope and Jake fell right over at 21:13. However Jake quickly got up and hit a big DDT on the outside to Virgil. But by the time he made back inside, he was counted out by the ref. Virgil was susequently knocked out from the DDT and had to be helped up to the back. Last decision happens clean after the Hulk Up routine and the big leg drop after a fist drop by the Million $ Man got Hulk's blood flowing after two of DiBiase being on the offense.
Sole Survivor: Hulk Hogan

After this we get an inpromptu interview with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan and Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake (who survived his match earlier). Both men speak on their victory with Vince McMahon until it is interrupted by WWF President Jack Tunney who announces that there will be an SNME the coming saturday in 2 days on November 25, in which the Hulkster will defend the WWF title against Bad News Brown in a rematch from the September SNME.

Now in taped interview, both Mean Gene Okerlund and Lord Alfred Hayes respectively are with The Rude Brood and Roddy's Rowdies. The Rowdies just all yell into the mic about what they're gonna do to the Brood with eating a bite of turkey, and The Brood say what they're thankful for (Perfect says for being Perfect, Rougeaus says for being All-American Boys, and Rude says for his ravishing body).

Survivor Series Elimination Match
The Rude Brood ("Ravishing" Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect & The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers w/ Jimmy Hart & The Genius) over Roddy's Rowdies ("Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, Butch Miller & Luke Williams) at 21:25
First one to say goodbye here is Raymond after being thrown over the top by Snuka and being thrown back by the Bushwhackers only to be hit with a standing flying headbutt from the Superfly for the pin at 4:00. Second is good ol' Jacques after Jacques attempted a backdrop but was too close to the turnbuckles and Piper pushed his feet from the turnbuckle turning Jacques around and allowing Piper to counter the backdrop with a bulldog for the pin at 7:37. Next up, Perfect rolls up dummy Butch with a roll up as Butch was doing his "Whoaaa!" chant to the fans at 10:43. And after dummy Luke gets eliminated by Rick Rude as Luke was doing the same "Whoaaa!" chant that Butch did at 12:13. Next elimination comes up at 18:37 once the Hot Rod and the Ravishing One are both counted out once they begin a big fight outside the ring. Last and final elimination comes up once Mr. Perfect counteracts a suplex by the Superfly, and hits a Perfect Plex on Snuka for the win.
Sole Survivor: Mr. Perfect

Lord Alfred Hayes is now backstasge with Mr. Pefect and The Genius who are celebrating Perfect's win, but this also is intterupted WWF President Jack Tunney and co., and he announces that Perfect will indeed have a rematch with The Superfly in 2 days at SNME.

We now get an interview between Mean Gene Okerlund and The Ultimate Warriors (which consists of Bret "The Hitman" Hart, WWF Tag Team Champions The Rockers and it's captained by the reigning WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior). Honestly, this stays the same as it's so fuckin funny to see Warrior pull on The Anvil's goatee and pull Marty and Shawn's hair.

Survivor Series Elimination Match
The Ultimate Warriors (WWF IC Champion The Ultimate Warrior, Bret "The Hitman" Hart & WWF Tag Team Champions The Rockers) over The Heenan Family (Andre The Giant, Haku & The Brain Busters w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) at 23:23
Same classic opening to the match with the big brawl only between the Heenans and The Rockers & The Hitman, with the Warrior running in but with music to clothesline the crap outta Andre but this time Andre doesn't get counted out as the Busters, Haku and Bobby help him up in time. However Andre is still dizzy so once he gets back inside the ring Warrior clotheslines him right back out and Andre is counted out at under 30 seconds! Andre does the original thing by staying at ringside and yelling at the ref as that was funny as hell. Anyway, second one to slam the door is Jannetty after being caught with a big crescent kick by Haku to the back of the head as Jannetty was distracted by The Brain at 7:30. But Tully is the next one to hit the bricks after being hit by a shoulder block by Warrior (who then tags Bret), getting up and being hit a crossbody by The Hitman who is pushed off the top by the Warrior at 11:17. But next up the other half of the WWF Tag Champs Shawn Michaels is booted from the party at 15:33 by Haku after a spike piledriver with Arn behind the ref's back as The Brain was distracting him. 5th elimination occurs once The Hitman and The Warrior perform the Hart Attack on Haku at 18:34! Then again The Hitman gets eliminated at 21:04 once Anderson catches Hart with the spinebuster after Arn dodges a a running clothesline from Bret, but as Bret was coming off the ropes and back to Arn, The Brain trips The Hitman, allowing Anderson to plant The Hitman for the pin. Final elimination of the night occurs once Bobby and Arn get into an argument once the Warrior kicked out of a pin by Arn. Warriors runs up from behind and knocks both their heads, knocking Bobby off the apron, Warrior of course then finishes things up doing the Gorrilla Press Slam and the Ultimate Splash, giving Warrior the win. After the match, Warrior got a hold of Bobby who attempted to run backstage before The Brain could get backstage, and sent the crowd home happy by doing the Gorilla Press Slam + The Ultimate Splash on the Brain as well. Warrior celebrated as the sole survivor with his classic theme on the turnbuckle to close the show.

Next up is the fallout from the Survivor Series on SNME and No Holds Barred.

Hulk Hogan (w/ Miss Elizabeth) © over Bad News Brown by pinfall at 9:14
Hulkster puts away the Bad News clean with a big leg drop after a back suplex as Bad News had his back turned arguing with Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and Miss Elizabeth. The Barber was called down to ringside to help out his friend Hulk as the ref was knocked out and Bad News was about clock the Hulk from behind with a chair. However, the Barber took away the chair behind Bad News while Elizabeth woke up the ref. After this match both Bad News Brown and Hulk Hogan/Brutus Beefcake had to be seperated but during all this ruckus, Mr. Perfect and The Genius made their way through the crowd and stole Hulk Hogan's unattentended WWF title belt!

On his way to the ring for his the Honkytonk Man and Jimmy Hart stumbled by Jimmy Snuka who was leaving the arena. HTM and Hart called Snuka a loser and claimed that he doesn't have it anymore. Snuka ignored them and walked off a bit, before HTM still went over and knocked Snuka out with a guitar shot from behind, feeling disrespected. Snuka is strectchered the arena after this.

To finish off the show, in an interview with Mean ene Okerlund Mr. Perfect is shown crushing the WWF title to pieces with a hammer, claiming that it's not a perfect belt until it's around his waist. This is interrupted by Tony Garea who officially announces Javk Tunney has given Mr. Perfect a shot at the WWF Champion Hulk Hogan in the main event of No Holds Barred.

Pheww, now that things are settled, next up is No Holds Barred in December 1989.

Colcollazo - December 5, 2005 04:08 AM (GMT)
BTW, this is a 2 hour ppv (kayfabe wise, this would be $12.50, half the price of a regular PPV back then) if it matters with only 6 matches, no banner this time as the No Holds Barred PPV back in 89 didn't have one. This is December 27th, 1989, live from Nashville, Tennessee in the Municipal Auditorium.

NO HOLDS BARRED

We start off the event with a live announcement from WWF President Jack Tunney's office where he officially announces 28 of the 30 participants for the 1990 edition of the Royal Rumble Match. It goes as the following ...

Ware, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, The Honky Tonk Man, Akeem, Hercules, Tito Santana, Dino Bravo, The Canadian Earthquake, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "The Model" Rick Martel, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Bad News Brown, Andre The Giant, Haku, WWF Tag Team Champion Marty Jannetty, WWF Tag Team Champion Shawn Michaels, The Barbarian, The Warlord, Demolition Ax, Demolition Smash, Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, Mr. Perfect, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior & WWF Champion Hulk Hogan

WWF President also announces the following matches for the 1990 edition of the Royal Rumble.

The Bushwhackers vs. The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (w/ Jimmy Hart)
The Genius vs. The Red Rooster
Greg "The Hammer" Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs. "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin in a Submission Match

And a special match between the two losing combatants of both the Nightstick and Crown Matches tonight. The two winners of those matches will earn the two remaining spots in the Royal Rumble Match.

Nightstick Match
"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes over The Big Bossman (w/ Slick) at 10:47
In the opener of the ppv, Dusty picks up the win once he grabs the nightstick. Finish happens once Slick accidentally knocks out the Bossman with the nightstick when BBM was holding Dusty in place for Slick, but Dusty dodged down and BBM took the hit. After Slick intefered accidentally, a big Dusty fan in polkadots hopped the barracade and gave Slick a big low blow. Security arrested the woman but before they can take her away, Dusty recognized her while he was doing his dancing and yelled security off her and invited her to dance with him.

Mean Gene Okerlund is backstage with Andre The Giant and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan who say they'll put an end to the rise of the Ultimate Warrior once Andre The Giant wins the Intercontinental Title and beats the Warrior senseless in the process.

Sean Mooney is backstage with Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior who says something about slamming Andre from the heavens all the way down into parts unknown and how the rise of the Warrior will continue until he's at the top of the WWF.....

WWF Intercontinental Championship
The Ultimate Warrior © over Andre The Giant (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) by pinfall at 7:30
Warrior beats Andre with the bodyslam he was talking about earlier and the trademark Ultimate Splash. This happens once Andre accidentally gives The Brain an overhead chop that was intended for Warrior as Warrior as had Bobby his tie, but he saw it coming and moved out the way.

Jesse "The Body" Ventura is momentarily out of the announcing booth with Gorilla Monsoon and is with the reigning WWF Intercontinental Champ The Ultimate Warrior at the entrance stage. Jesse asks how asks Warrior how does it feels now that he's actually beaten Andre and retained the Intercontinental Title. Warrior goes on to say something about how Andre felt the strength and power of the Warrior before he gets stopped by The Genius. Jesse The Body and Warrior look confused by this. But Genius apparently comes out reciting a poem, and he ended it off by saying Warrior is as smart as a rock. Warrior gets pissed and grabs Genius by his robe. But from behind Mr. Perfect attacks Warrior with a chair, which lays Warrior down long enough for Perfect and Genius to escape safely.

Vince McMahon is backstage with "Macho King" Randy Savage and Sensational "Queen" Sherri who say that Hacksaw cracked under pressure at the Survivor Series when he was counted out against the King's Court and how he'll crack under pressure next up once the Crown is on the line.

Tony Schiavone is backstage with "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan who says that he's gonna make his strongest effort the big mouth of the Macho King up by not only winning the Crown tonight but also earning the last remaining spot in the Royal Rumble Match.

Crown Match
"Macho King" Randy Savage (w/ Sensational "Queen" Sherri) over "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan by pinfall at 11:13
Macho beats Hacksaw with the big elbow from the top after he knocked out big Hacksaw with the Queen's loaded purse while she was with the ref. Macho retains the Crown and earns the last spot in the Royal Rumble Match.

This makes it The Big Bossman (w/ Slick) vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan for the Royal Rumble.

Taped interview airs where Jesse "The Body" Ventura is with Jimmy Hart and the Hart Family (Dino Bravo, Canadian Earthquake, Rougeaus, Honky and Valentine). Jimmy brags about managing the best assemblance of talent there is in the WWF. Bravo, Quake and Honky talk about how eventhough it'll be every man for themselves at the Royal Rumble, they'll all have each other's back and they'll have their eye on Hercules and "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka. Rougeaus talk about putting the Bushwhackers to rest at the Rumble and Valentine says he's gonna finally srttle the score against "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin in the submission match at RR.

Brother Love segment is now set up next to the entrance, and Brother Love is with Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and Miss Elizabeth. The Barber announces that Liz is now his official valet. Love asks Barber about why he interfered in the Hogan vs Bad News match from the 11/25 SMNE. Beefcake responded by saying he simply could not standby once Liz told him that the Hulkster, his friend to the end was in trouble. And that's when Bad News Brown in street clothes attacked Brutus from behind. Bad News busted Brutus open with a pair of brass knuckles and continued the attack until Liz returned to the stage with a bunch of ref's to get Bad News off Beefcake.

This quickly cuts to Hillbilly Jim who is with Demolition backstage. Hillbilly asks the Demos what went down once they and the Powers of Pain rushed into Jack Tunney's office demanding a title shot. Smash says they were cheapshotted ever since they lost the Tag Titles. Ax says Demolition was never given a rematch for the Tag Team Titles and they demand a rematch ASAP.

Lord Alfred Hayes is now with The Powers of Pain and Mr. Fuji. Fuji basically says they deserve the title shot more than Demolition, The Hart Foundation and every other team in the WWF. He says that the POP even beat Demolition at the Survivor Series therfore they should be the #1 contenders.

Some taped promos of WWF Tag Team Champs The Rockers and The Hart Foundation as they talk about how good the match is gonna be but how there's no doubt they'll win.

WWF Tag Team Championship
The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hitman" Hart & Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) over The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) © by disqualification at 16:18
Really good match that has the Harts get the DQ win once the ref blatantly catches Fuji catch The Hitman from behind with his cane as he coming off the ropes in order to hit a Hart Attack with The Anvil on Michaels. POP and Fuji attack the Harts until Demolition runs and clears the ring. At the end of the end, POP and Fuji are outside the ring while Demolition WWF Tag Champs and The Harts are in 3 different corners of the ring.

Sean Mooney is backstage with 'The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes and his big female fan in polkadots. Dusty introduces Sapphire and also anounces that Sapphire is his official valet but before the interview can go on Bobby 'The Brain" Heenan interrupts Dusty and rants about how Warriors's win over Andre was a fluke and he wants a rematch. Sapphire says she feels Bobby disrespected both her and Dusty by interrupting this interview, and Bobby tells her to shut her fat mouth up and slaps her. This makes Dusty pissed, and The Dream hits Bobby with a left jab, but from behind Andre The Giant gives Dusty a big headbutt to the back of the head, and he applies a head crusher which renders Dusty unconcious. Sapphire gets a bunch of officials to get Andre off Dusty.

"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Virgil hit the ring, and DiBiase announces that he has officially contacted a manager in the WWF and they have made a deal stating that Jake 'The Snake" Roberts must beat 3 of his clients along with a special handpicked opponent by DiBiase in order for Jake to be able to wrestle DiBiase in a 1 on 1 singles match. DiBiase and Virgil hitail it one Jake comes out the crowd and unleashes Damien in the ring.

Special taped promos by "Ravishing" Rick Rude and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper air in which they both say they are going out to settle the score in the steel cage match tonight.

Cage Match
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper over "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) at 15:32
Piper walks right out the steel cage after long, hard fought match after he knocks out Rude with brass knucks that were given to Rude by The Brain (busted lip lol from Dusty) through the cage. Piper however caught Rude with a right hand which made Rude drop the brass knucks, allowing Piper to pick them up and knock Rude out for the escape. The exact same match from 12/28/89 where Piper vs Rude happenned in a cage in MSG only about three minutes longer, great match.

Backstage, Sean Mooney is now with Mr. Perfect and The Genius. First off Genius claims he was only trying to get some PPV time by reciting his lovely poem and how The Ultimate Warrior took the the last line the wrong way, therefore making Mr. Perfect come out from behind with a chair. Genius also says that the Red Rooster took his spit in his face way too seriously () and how he'll end up teaching him a lesson at the Royal Rumble. Mr. Pefect then says that his first and foremost his hat goes off to "Ravishing" Rick Rude for a perfect performance out there against "Rowdy" Roddy Piper in that steel cage match, he also says Piper just got lucky in that one. Perfect goes on to say that Warrior found out the hard way not to mess with The Genius and that how Hulk Hogan will also finally learn the hard way at Mr. Perfect is the cream of the crop in the WWF, he then rephrases himself that Hogan will have to learn, the perfect way.

Now Mean Gene Okerlund is with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan. Hogan mentions that Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake will be just fine and only needs some stitches. Hulk then says that he's already seen a lot of people come and go and that he's beaten some of the best of em and he's never seen anyone quite like Mr. Perfect. He says Perfect is the total package, athletic ability, charisma, strength and agility but he still won't be enough to stop the power of Hulkamania. He finishes it off with the classic "Whatcha Gonna Do" line when Hulk Hogan and all of his little hulksters go crazy all over him and The Genius too.

WWF Championship
Hulk Hogan © over Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) by disqualification at 13:10
Good match, Hogan wins this with a DQ (Perfect's record stays intact with no pin or submission losses), once the ref catches The Genius once he hits Hogan from behind with his metal plated graduation cap as Hogan was coming off the ropes for a leg drop on Perfect. Perfect and Genius proceed to attack the champ until none other than the WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Ultimate Warrior runs down with a steel chair and knocks Perfect out the ring with a shot to the back. And he hits Genius over the head with it (has his brains scrambled, dropping Genius IQ a bit ), he then hits the Gorilla Press Slam on him. But before he can do the splash, the Hulkster quickly hits a big leg drop on Genius. PPV goes off the air with Warrior and Hogan staring eachother down with Hulk's music blasting.

Here's the match results...

Dusty over Bossman in a Nightstick Match at 10:47

Warrior over Andre by pinfall at 7:30

Macho over Hacksaw in a Crown Match by pinfall at 11:13

Harts over Rockers by disqualification at 16:18

Piper over Rude in a Cage Match at 15:32

Hogan over Perfect by disqualification at 13:10

Commentary team for the night is Jesse "The Body" Ventura and Tony Schiavone.

The Bushwhackers (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) over The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (Jacques & Raymond Rougeau w/ Jimmy Hart) by countout at 10:35
First PPV match of the year, and it kicks off the show with the Rougeaus running out on this one giving the Bushwhackers the win by countout. During this match Jesse "The Body" Ventura announced during commentary that the Rougeaus are scheduled to challenged The Rockers for the Tag Titles this Saturday on the 1/27 edition of SNME.

Mean Gene Okerlund is right behind the entrance way and is with the Rougeaus and Jimmy Hart. Jimmy Hart officially makes it clear that WWF President Jack Tunney has granted his Rougeaus a Tag Title shot for this Saturday on SNME. Rougeaus say they have been waiting for this oppurtunity for a long time and they can't wait till Saturday night. Just when they say this the Bushwhackers run up from behind and clothesline them both before whacking off to the locker room lol, ...hey that didn't sound right did it?

Vince McMahon is now backstage with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and his valet Miss Elizabeth. The Hulkster first and foremost thanks WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior for saving him at No Holds Barred when Mr. Perfect and The Genius attacked him. Hulk says that he and his friend to the end Brutus are ready to clean house in the Rumble, he hands it off to Brutus who says he's definately on the look out for Bad News Brown after what he did to him last month.

With Sean Mooney backstage is The Genius who recites another one of his weird poems, this time about his opponent tonight, The Red Rooster. Genius rhymes about plucking The Rooster etc before Mooney sends it back to Ventura and Schiavone.

The Red Rooster over The Genius by pinfall at 11:03
Rooster pins The Genius with an inverted sunset flip after a missed clothesline by Genius. The Red Rooster gets a measure of revenge after Genius spit right in his face on the 11/25/89 edition of SNME after a poem. After the match Rooster locked on the chickenwing making Genius tap out until officials got Rooster off The Genius lol.

This then cuts to Mean Gene Okerlund who is backstage with Mr. Perfect and "Ravishing" Rick Rude. Perfect starts off by revealing that he has drawn the perfect Royal Rumble draw, #30 which shocks Mean Gene. Perfect says everyone is talking about how Hulk Hogan is their favorite in this match, how The Ultimate Warrior is their favorite in this match but not enough about how good himself and Rick Rude are gonna do in the Rumble. Perfect thens tells both Hogan and Warrior to watch us for us two. Rude then goes on to say that he wishes Perfect all the best in the Rumble match, and tells the camera that they are as close as brothers ever since both their childhoods, but tonight it's every man for themselves, and if it comes down to them only, then he will not hesistate to eliminate Perfect. Perfect replies by saying the same before they both shake hands.

We go onto Gorilla Monsoon who is off play-by-play duty tonight and is backstage with WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior. Warrior does it short and sweet but mentions that he will only have to go through 28 other mortal beings and 1 immortal in order to come out victorious tonight...

Lord Alfred Hayes is now with "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin. Ronnie says this will be the last chapter in this Garvin/Valentine book, and he will settle the score by making The Hammer submit.

Submission Match
"Rugged" Ronnie Garvin over Greg "The Hammer" Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart) at 16:52
This is the same great blowoff match to the 9 month program between these two that ends with Garvin making Valentine after reversing the shin guard and applying the Reverse Figure-4 Leg Lock.

The Brother Love Show: (Special Guests: Andre The Giant & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan)
For this episode of the Brother Love Show, Andre explains that he attacked "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes only because he punched The Brain, and he'll do it again if he sees him in the Royal Rumble Match. Bobby says he had it coming to him once he put his stinky fat hands on him lol.

After the Brother Love Show, it cuts to WWF President Jack Tunney's office where Tunney announces Andre vs Dusty for SNME.

Sean Mooney is backstage with "The Million $ Man" Ted DiBiase and Virgil, and DiBiase announces that Jake "The Snake" Roberts has signed the contract stating that in order for them meet inside the ring, Jake will have to go through 3 clients of a manager that DiBiase has struck a deal with and an opponent of DiBiase's choice. And that the first match will take place this Saturday on SNME, and that if Jake doesn't wins this match, he can kiss his chances of fighting him 1 on 1 away. Right here is when Jake accompanied by a bunch of police officers in front of him tells DiBiase not to worry, that he'll get to him sooner or later, as a matter of fact, since they're both in the Rumble, maybe sooner than you think...

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan over The Big Bossman (w/ Slick) by disqualification at 12:27
This match is booked after both men lost their match at the No Holds Barred PPV from December, in the stipulation that the losers of both the Crown and Nightstick Matches would face eachother in a singles at the Royal Rumble while the winners of those matches would earn the final 2 spots in the Royal Rumble Match. Of course, the matches were Dusty vs Bossman and Macho vs Hacksaw. Well, big ol' Hacksaw wins this one by DQ after the Bossman just got fed up and gave Hacksaw one on the gut with his nightstick. This knocks Duggan out of the ring, allowing Slick to do his dancing inside the ring afterwards, but Duggan grabs his 2X4 and knocks the Bossman over the back with it to clear the ring.

From here, you see a bunch of old skool taped vignettes of all the big names in the Rumble Match handing out their comments before the Rumble begins, finishing off of course with the Hulkster.

"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (w/ Sapphire) over Andre The Giant (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) by pinfall at 3:39
Dusty picks up the big win after a top rope crossbody on Andre. He landed two bionic elbows on Andre after the match before Andre rolled out the ring and Dusty started his dance with his valet Sapphire.

Dino Bravo (w/ The Canadian Earthquake) over "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin by pinfall at 7:13
Bravo wins this one once the momentum of a crossbody sent him over Garvin for the pin. After the match, both Bravo and Quake beat up Garvin, and Quake put him on a stretcher after a big sitdown splash. Before this match it was announced that there would be a 20 Man Battle Royal for $50,000 at WrestleMania VI, and that all the participants would be announced on the 2/17/90 SNME.

WWF Champion Hulk Hogan & WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior over Mr. Perfect & "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan & The Genius) by pinfall at 11:47
The champs win this once Warrior lands a back suplex and an Ultimate Splash on Rude as Rude was busy being distracted by the argument between The Brain and The Genius at ringside after Rude illegally tagged himself in. After the match, Perfect and Genius jumped Warrior, and Warrior ended up clotheslining Hogan accidentally while Hogan was trying to fight off Perfect and Genius after Hogan bumped into Warrior. Both men got into a war of words and a shoving match after this incident. While at ringside Rude and Perfect almost got into it too after The Brain decked Genius in the mouth once Genius insulted The Brain.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts over Akeem (w/ Slick) by pinfall at 6:40
Before the match, DiBiase announced that the manager that he had struck a deal with was "The Doctor of Style" Slick. He then announced that Jake would first face The Big Bossman, but the Bossman came to ringside with Slick, grabbed the mic, shoved Slick down and got in DiBiase's face before saying he could not be bought. After this he walked off, and Slick replaced Bossman with Akeem. Jake wins this one with the neckbreaker from behind as Akeem was distracted by BBM. After the match, Bossman raised Jake's hand in victory. Jake's next match will be on the next episode of Superstars on 2/3/90 against Rick "The Model" Martel.

WWF Tag Team Championship
The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) © over The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (Jacques & Raymond Rougeau w/ Jimmy Hart) by pinfall at 12:21
Rockers retain the gold and have a great match wth the Rougeaus. Finish is a rocker dropper/top rope leg drop combo that has Michaels pin Raymond for the win. Shortly before this match it was announced that Demolition and The Powers of Pain would face off at the 2/17/90 SNME for the #1 contendership for the Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania VI!

During this segment, Heenan and Genius got into a war of words mostly about who is better out of Perfect and Rude, which led to Heenan shoving Genius to the ground. After this, Perfect came out and got into Bobby's face which led to Rude coming out and confronting Perfect. Both parties were escorted from the Brother Love Show set before things could erupt.

And he drops the bombshell that at WrestleMania VI it will be "Title For Title" once WWF Champion Hulk Hogan and WWF Intercontinental Champion face off in the main event of WrestleMania VI!

WWF Champion Hulk Hogan over "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) by DQ at 10:57
Hulk wins once the ref catches Genius hitting Hulk with his scroll once Hulk came off the ropes. Rude chased Genius all the way to the back until Rude ran up to Perfect. They had a staredown before Perfect spit his gum in Rude's face. This started a fight between them which needed a shitload of WWF execs and officiald to break up.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts over Virgil (w/ "The Million $ Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase) by pinfall at 3:41

But Tito and Bossman (w/ nightstick) ran down for the save.

WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior over Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) by DQ at 12:03
Warrior beats Perfect after a good match by DQ once The Genius gets caught tripping Warrior as he came off the ropes. Perfect and Genius jump The Warrior once the match is finished but WWF Champion Hulk Hogan runs down for the save throwing Perfect over the top and landing a leg drop on Genius. Of course Hogan and Warrior had a staredown afterwards.

As Perfect and a beat up Genius went backstage, they were both greeted by Rude and The Brain. Rude and Perfect had another fight until it cut to commercial.

#1 Contenders For The Team Tag Titles At WrestleMania VI
Demolition (Ax & Smash) over The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian & The Warlord w/ Mr. Fuji) by pinfall at 7:30

During the match, Barbarian attempted to catch Ax from behind the ref's back with Mr. Fuji's cane but The Hart Foundation ran down through the audience and The Anvil took the cane out of the Barbarian's hands and threw him over the top, while The Hitman took Mr. Fuji off the apron breaking the distraction. Demolition will now challenge WWF Tag Team Champions The Rocker, for the titles at WM 6. And it'll be Harts vs POP. Show caps off with Demolition, The Hart Foundation and The Rockers all shaking hands in show of respect to a hot crowd.

WWF WrestleMania VI

Robert Goulet sings the Canadian national anthem to kick off the show and your announcers for the night are of course the legendary Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse "The Body" Ventura.

"The Model" Rick Martel (w/ Slick) vs. Tito Santana
This match kicks off WM VI the right way and The Model picks up the win on Tito with an inverted sunset flip at 14:03. Finish happens once Tito becomes distracted by Slick on the apron. Afterwards, Tito does hit a flying forearm on Martel and Slick as the exclamation point in this year long feud.

Sean Mooney is now The Macho King and Queen Sherri who say at the biggest show of the year, they're ready to retain the crowd and make The Hot Rod their court jester.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund is now backstage with The Hot Rod who says he's feeling more rowdy tonight than he ever has and that he's prepared to dethrone Savage and put Sherri in her place.

King's Crown Match
"Macho King" Randy Savage (w/ Sensational "Queen" Sherri) vs. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper
Macho retains the crown by DQ at 12:21 once the ref catches The Hot Rod when he knocks out Macho with Sherri's loaded purse. Piper caught it in the mid-air while Sherri was tossing it to Macho. After the match, Piper ran to the back and ran back with a bucket of ice cold water and he poured all over the King and Queen while Sherri was trying to wake Macho .

The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hitman" Hart & Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) vs. The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian & The Warlord w/ Mr. Fuji)
Harts pick up the win on the POP with the Hart Attack on The Warlord at 12:32. This happens once The Barbarian misses a diving headbutt on The Anvil before he gets double clotheslined out of the ring leaving The Warlord alone. Harts get payback on the POP.

After this, Sean Mooney gets an impromptu interview with Mr. Fuji in the aisle. Fuji says something about him made him mind on what's he gonna do tonight...

Taped promos by Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) and "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) air concerning their 20 minute time limit match.

20 Minute Time Limit
Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) vs. "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan)
Both Hennig and Rude put on a great match and go all the way to the time limit at 20:00. Afterwards, both men quickly shake hands out of respect before going seperate ways.

Sean Mooney is backstage with Jake The Snake who has the Million $ Title, Jake basically says he'd go through whoever to face Ted, and he did and now he promises that Ted won't get his title back.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund is now interviewing The Million $ Man (w/ Virgil), who says the Million $ Title is strictly his and that Jake is about to force him to make lightning strike twice when he locks on the MDD on Jake again, he bets his money on it.

Million $ Championship
Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. "The Million $ Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil)
DiBiase gets the win by countout when Virgil abruptly took the Million $ Title from The Fink and ran into the back. Jake had DiBiase in the DDT position but he quickly ran after Virgil, and he couldn't run back by the 10 count giving DiBiase the countout win. But Jake of course from behind knocked out DiBiase with the DDT as he played to the fans and he proceeded to pass out DiBiase's money to the entire front row. He then pulled out Damien but Virgil ran back down and pulled DiBiase out the ring before Jake could put Damien on DiBiase.

Akeem (w/ Slick) vs. The Big Bossman
Before the match started, DiBiase hid under the ring and attacked Bossman from behind with a chairshot to the back. BBM still however managed to get the win after he dodged a punch with brass knuckles by Akeem while Slick was with the ref. BBM hits the sidewalk slam and he enforces the law on Akeem at 5:13.

Bad News Brown vs. Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake (w/ Miss Elizabeth)
Bad News and The Barber fight to a double countout at 7:19. This is Liz' last apperance managing The Barber.

Last minute promo with Demolition, The Rockers and Vince McMahon airs, they both tell eachother to bring their a-game etc..

WWF Tag Team Championship
The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) © vs. Demolition (Ax & Smash)
Demos go home with the belts for an amazing third time in a shocking turn of events once out of all ppl walks out and blasts Shawn Michaels in the back as he came off the ropes while while Jannetty was complaining to the ref about both Ax and Smash being in the ring at once. Demolition hit the decapitation and Ax pinned Michaels the win and the titles at 15:08. As Jannetty went to check on his partner, Demolition attacked him too and hit a Decapitation on him as well. After this, Mr. Fuji entered the ring and Demolition put him up on their shoulders to complete shock from the Toronto crowd and both Monsoon and Ventura.

Taped promo from The Ultimate Warrior. It's the same as the original as that's probably my favorite Warrior promo lol.

Dusty then attempted to charge at Quake with a shoulder block, but Quake instead eliminated him. This automatically makes Quake the #1 contender for the WWF Title.

KOTR gets on the road with The Hot Rod's music playing, and he joins the announce team with Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse "The Body" Ventura.

Quarter-Final Match
"The Model" Rick Martel (w/ Slick) vs. Tito Santana
In the opening match of the card, also in a rematch from last year's KOTR and WM 6, Tito picks up the win with the flying forearm just as Martel turned after being distracted by "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin who grabbed Slick by his tie at ringside (Garvin has his head wrapped due to the concussion Martel gave him during their match in the first round) at 10:43.

Quarter-Final Match
Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil)
In a second WM 6 rematch, DiBiase gets the victory on Jake but by countout once Bad News Brown apparently pissed off since Jake knocked him out of the tourney in the first round, pulled Jake out the ring just as he had DiBiase in DDT position and they started brawling on the outside at 11:17.

Lord Alfred Hayes is backstage with Demolition, who tell the Harts that they do infact derserve this title shot, but it's too bad they don't know what they have in store for them...

The Orient Express (Akio Sato & Pat Tanaka w/ Mr. Fuji) vs. The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels)
After a good match, Rockers pick up the win with a Rocker Dropper/Flying Fist Drop combination to pick up win once Michaels pins Sato at 12:56. As soon as the decision was made, Fuji quickly made his way to the back to prepare with the Tag Champs Demolition for their match later on in the night.

Quarter-Final Match
The Big Bossman vs. Dino Bravo (w/ Jimmy Hart)
Bossman gets the big win on Bravo pinfall with the full nelson slam at 8:04 once he caught Bravo distracted by Brutus Beefcake on the apron. Beefcake then threw Bravo over the top rope and challenged him to come back in and fight, but Bravo was being held back by Jimmy Hart.

Quarter-Final Match
Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake vs. Mr. Perfect
The original opponent for Mr. Perfect was supposed to be "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, but before the contest and after Bossman vs Bravo, Tunney announced that Hacksaw couldn't be able to compete tonight due to internal injuries stemming from the attack by Barbarian & Haku in the qualifying match between Duggan and Haku. Tunney then told Beefcake to stay at ringside as he will be Duggan's replacement. Anyway, Perfect puts The Barber away at 11:08 with a roll up from from behind after Bravo interfered behind the ref's back as Jimmy Hart was with the ref, and gave Beefcake a stun gun over the top rope from the apron.

"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (w/ Sapphire) vs. "The Macho King" Randy Savage (w/ Sensational "Queen" Sherri)
Dusty gets the big win on Macho by DQ once the ref caught Sherri once she blasted Dusty with her loaded purse in the back of the head as he came off the ropes for a crossbody on Savage at 8:52. Macho and Sherri continued to beat on Dusty until Sapphire grabbed Sherri by her hair and threw her out the ring. Savage however shoved Sapphire to the canvas to major, major heat before both he and Sherri left ringside.

Semi-Final Match
"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil) vs. Tito Santana
Tito gets the major upset win on DiBiase by countout at 13:26. Bossman randown to ringside and pulled Virgil from the apron as he was distracting the ref, and he then gave Virgil a nightstick shot to the ribs for good measure. Tito then dropkicked DiBiase over the top as he also distracted by what was going on at ringside. DiBiase then got engaged into a fight with Bossman causing the countout.

In a taped interview, Jesse The Body catches up with Earthquake and Jimmy Hart backstage, and Quake says he's gonna put Warrior in the same hospital where Hulk Hogan currently is.

Last minute with the Harts is conducted by "Rowdy" Roddy Piper who leaves the booth to catch up with these guys. The Harts say they've been waiting for this moment for months, and they're not gonna let it go unaccomplished.

WWF Tag Team Championship
Demolition (Ax & Smash w/ Mr. Fuji) © vs. The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hitman" Hart & Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart)
Demolition get the win once a mysterious character in Demolition make-up and attire dropped an elbow to the back of the head of Bret behind the ref's back as he was with Fuji, and then put Smash on top of Bret after Smash was given The Hart Attack before he hid under the ring. Smash pins Bret at 14:34 to retain the titles, and the stranged face-painted man comes out from under the ring again and joins Demolition and Fuji in attacking The Harts after the match. Rockers run out with chairs to clear the ring but the damage had been done.

Immediately after this match, Sean Mooney is behind the entrance waiting for Demolition and Fuji. Mooney tells Fuji what a cheap win that was and he asked who is this man. Fuji makes it clear the he is now the third member of Demolition, Crush.

Lord Alfred Hayes is now with Tito Santana, who says it's 2 down and 1 to go, and whether it be Bossman or Perfect, it's time to get the gold.

Semi-Final Match
The Big Bossman vs. Mr. Perfect
Perfect picks up win once DiBiase attacks him causes the DQ victory at 11:19. While Virgil was distracting on the apron, and Bossman was fighting him off, Perfect and DiBiase made a deal once Perfect agreed to be hit by DiBiase for the win. The ref turned around and caught this hapening and he gave Perfect the DQ win, Bossman was confused at first but once the official word was made, he chased DiBiase from ringside all the way to the back.

Vince McMahon is now in the back with WWF Champion The Ultimate Warrior. In the end of his language, Warrior says Quake will go down and if Bravo and Hart get in, there'll be more room in parts unknown!

WWF Championship
The Ultimate Warrior © vs. Earthquake (w/ Jimmy Hart)
Warrior retains the strap by DQ once Dino Bravo inteferes and attacks Warrior from behind after Warrior knocked down Quake with a flying shoulderblock at 8:41. Bravo and Quake proceeded to jump the Warrior after the match until The Barber crashed the party with a chair and landed a hit to the back of Quake, but Bravo caught Beefcake from behind with a clothesline. The two then focused on Brutus before Warrior recovered, grabbed Brutus' chair that he brought to the ring and clered the ring. Warrior and Brutus shook hands before the camera suddenly cut to "Mean" Gene Okerlnd in the back.

Mean Gene is with "Ravishing" Rick Rude & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, in this interview Rude issues a challenge to The Ultimate Warrior, saying that if Warrior has any guts he'll accept.

Brother Love Show (Special Guests: The Legion of Doom)
After weeks of hype and vignettes showing the streets of Chicago etc, Brother Love announces that his special guests are the debuting Legion of Doom. Animal & Hawk walk out to big pops from those who are familiar with the NWA, and Hawk of course opens with the classic what a rush line. They introduuce themselves and announce that they now go by the full time name of LOD. Animal says it's great to finally arrive in the WWF, but before he can continue, now Demolition (Ax & Smash) and Mr. Fuji walk out. Fuji asks who are LOD to walk in and be stars, his guys are the Tag Champs, and they aren't. Demolition then immediately jump the LOD, but LOD fight back but then the third member of the Demos, Crush walks out and gets the odds in favor of Demolition. Before all thee could do damage, The Harts and The Rockers run out with chairs to clear the area.

After this incident, the camera cuts to WWF President Jack Tunney who says because The Rockers got a sucessful win over The Orients, that The Rockers will challenge Demolition on the 7/28/90 SNME for the tag titles, he then announced that the winner of that match will defend the titles against The Harts at SummerSlam. He then made it official that WWF Champ The Ultimate Warrior accepted Rude's challenge and that he will defend the title against Rick Rude at this SNME as well as announcing Brutus Beefcake vs Dino Bravo for the show.

Now Sean Mooney is in the back with Mr. Perfect who says the time has come, he still has his perfect record, and after tonight he'll the WWF Intercontinental Title.

1990 WWF King of the Ring Finals Match/WWF Intercontinental Championship
Mr. Perfect vs. Tito Santana
In the final match of the evening, after a great match, Perfect picks up the win and the Intercontinental Title by pinfall with an inside cradle at 14:30, this happens once Tito is suddenly distracted by none other than Bobby 'The Brain" Heenan, before he turns around to a quick inside cradle by Perfect. Perfect was given the IC strap before Tito ran back into the ring with a chair and cleared the ring of both Heenan and Perfect. After this match, the camera cut to "Mean" Gene Okerlund who is in the backstage area.

"Mean" Gene is now with new WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, in which Perfect announces that Heenan is his newly appointed, official new manager (which clears up why The Genius didn't appear during the PPV), and Heenan announces that Perfect is the new member of the family. Before the interview could any further, Tito runs up on Perfect and they begin a big fight which calls up a bunch of officials to try to break up.

This immediately cuts to WWF President Jack Tunney who announces a Perfect vs Santana rematch for the 7/28/90 SNME, before he mentions that Hulk Hogan will be returning on that same show. The show closes with highlights from the show and the first promo for SummerSlam 1990.

Well, first and foremost on the 6/9/90 edition of Superstars, Randy Savage (w/ Sensational Sherri) made a deal with the 1990 King of the Ring and new Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect (w/ Bobby Heenan) on the Brother Love Show where Perfect allowed Savage to continue using the name "Macho King". This of course was interrupted by Dusty (w/ Sapphire) and Tito who wanted to get their hands on Perfect and Savage. On this same episode of Superstars, the new tag team of Hercules & Paul Roma who go by the name of Power & Glory, faced Akeem & The Warlord. Herc and Roma won by DQ once Slick interfered, and Akeem and Warlord attacked both men after the match. Power & Glory are getting beat up until The Rockers run out with steel chairs and they clear the ring. Both Marty and Shawn help Herc and Roma to their feet, but they refused The Rocker's help by shoving them off.

Now on the 6/10 edition of Wrestling Challenge, Roma faced off with Akeem, Roma got the pin, but Akeem and Slick attacked him after the match, Marty Jannetty however came to the save and he dropkicked Akeem out the ring as well as Slick. Roma however slapped Jannetty for running down to help him. After this match Rick Martel was set for cpompetion (w/ Slick) but he attacked by Ronnie Garvin who after getting a few blows on Martel, collasped due to him still suffereing from the show Martel gave him.

The same thing happens to Michaels once he runs down with a chair to save Herc after a Herc vs Warlord match on the 6/16 edition of Superstars. For the second time, Garvin collasped after trying to attack Martel (after a Martel vs jobber match), but Martel gave him a low blow, and Slick handed Martel a pair of brass knucks in which Martel used on Garvin before officials came out. On this edition of Superstars, Bad News Brown was on the Brother Love Show, and Brother Love asked him why he cost Jake The Snake his match at KOTR, Bad News said it's all because he cost him a shot at the IC Title. The segment stops once Jake runs up with Damien and clears the scene before he destroys the Brother Love Show set. Tunney then announced Bad News vs Jake for SummerSlam in a Harlem Street Fight for SummerSlam.

A second Herc/Roma vs Akeem/Warlord match happened on the 6/17 edition of Wrestling Challenge. Power & Glory were again attacked after the DQ finish, and The Rockers again ran down to help but were attacked but all four men this time. Now on the 6/23 edition of Superstars, Herc & Roma were guests oin the Brother Love Show and they announced that since they couldn't beat them, they joined them and they announced that Slick is their official new manager. On this same show, The Big Bossman vs Ted DiBase was announced for SummerSlam, and during the program, Bossman ran down for the save once DiBiase and Virgil continued to attack a jobber after Ted beat him. BBM ran down and cleared the ring, DiBiase and Virgil left the Million $ Title at ringside. BBM decided to keep this as punishment for DiBiase beating up that jobber . Dusty Rhodes vs Randy Savage was also announced for SummerSlam, as well Rick Martel vs Ronnie Garvin, in which Tunney announced that Garvin will be fully healed by the event.

Onto the the 7/28/90 SNME.

WWF Championship
The Ultimate Warrior © def. "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) via DQ at 10:43

WWF Tg Team Championship
Demolition (Crush & Smash w/ Mr. Fuji) © def. The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) by countout at 10:37

WWF Intercontinental Championship
Tito Santana def. Mr. Perfect (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) via DQ at 11:31

Tugboat (sub. for Brutus Beefcake) def. Dino Bravo (w/ Jimmy Hart) via DQ at 4:39

"The Texas Tornado" Kerry Von Erich def. Buddy Rose via pinfall at 3:10

Hogan of course came back in n in-ring interview with Vince, the same one.

Warrior vs Rude was announced for SummerSlam as well as Hogan vs Quake, Perfect vs Santana it's official that Demolition will defend the tag titles against The Hart at Slam. Jack Tunney also announced that Demos vs Harts will be a 2/3 Falls match.

Warrior vs Rude ended once Heenan broke the champ cover on Rude after the Warrior splash.

Demos beat The Rockers when Paul Roma interfered behind referee Joey Marella's back as he was with Ax and Crush on the apron, hit a clothesline with Fuji's cane on Michaels as Michaels had Smash rolled up, and Smash scored the pinfall. LOD and The Harts came and argued with the ref about the decision. This makes it Demos vs Harts.

Perfect was also DQ'd by Heenan after he was caught once he tripped Tito, Tito chased them both from ringside.

Vince McMahon announced on commentary that Brutus Beefcake is being sidelined indefinately due to a skiing accident earlier in the month and that Tugboat wold replace him in his match with Dino Bravo.

For the Brother Love Show segment on this SNME, DiBiase and Virgil are the guests, and DiBiase challenges Bossman for the Million $ Title that's rightfully his, Bossman came out and accepted the challenge.

Tugboat got the DQ win once Quake interfered and dropped an elbow on Tugboat after he executed the splash on Bravo. Bravo and Quake then attacked Tugboat until the returning Hulk Hogan made the save with a chair. After the match Hogan vs Quake was announcec with Tugboat in Hulk's corner and Bravo in Quake's. It was also announced that Power & Glory would join Slick main client, Rick Martel in a six-man tag against The Rockers & Ronnie Garvin at SummerSlam.

That makes it...,

Rude vs Warrior - WWF Title

Hogan vs Quake

Demos vs Harts - WWF Tag Titles 2/3 Falls

Perfect vs Santana - IC Title

Dusty vs Macho

DiBiase vs Bossman - Million $ Title

Jake vs Bad News - Harlem Street Fight

During the Bret/Smash match, of course Fuji along with Ax distracted the ref while Crush and Smash gave Bret the Decapitation. However, the LOD ran down, took both Fuji and Ax off the apron and this melee distracted the ref. While this happened Neidhart ranover the other side of the ring, grabbed a chair and whacked Crush and Smash over the head with it knocking them both out. He then put Bret over Smash and turned the ref around for the pin.

Martel makes Michaels submit with the Boston Crab, after the match Martel and Slick attacked Michaels but Jannetty dropkicked them both out the ring.

Savage gets a countout win the Bossman once as Sherri distracts the ref, DiBiase and Virgil attacked Bossman on the floor with the Million $ Title at ringside. DiBiase stole the title back.

Hulk wins by DQ once Quake runs in on the match, but of course Tugboat makes the save.

Tito & The Warrior get the win on Perfect & Rude once Heenan brakes up the cover (Tito on Perfect after the Flying Forearm) for third time in matches with Tito and Warrior. Tito dumps the knocked out Perfect to the outside and Warrior gorilla pessed slam Rude onto him.
