Title: OAO Taboo Tuesday Thread
Mad Dog - October 10, 2005 03:44 PM (GMT)
Yes the show that was a gigantic failure is back this year.
dynamite kido - October 10, 2005 03:59 PM (GMT)
I'm sure it'll be another failure.
Mad Dog - October 10, 2005 04:02 PM (GMT)
I guess the question is...... will the polls be fixed again this year?

Apparently they WEREN'T fixed last year................but the voters were influenced by TV (obviously).....
Mad Dog - October 10, 2005 04:05 PM (GMT)
I still don't buy that. I think several of the polls were rigged last year.

I don't know if they rigged them. They don't really have to. As much as I hate to admit it, Vince could get his audience to eat shit out of his ass.
Mad Dog - October 10, 2005 04:13 PM (GMT)
They don't have the voting options yet.
I also found it telling that the WWF started advertising this show well before No Mercy took place. It further shows how much of a B Show Smackdown is. I'm surprised they still give them PPVs.
Taboo Tuesday is still a lame name. They should use Halloween Havok.

BUT...................BUT.................That'd be giving credit to WCW for doing anything. Of course THAT will never happen.
So yeah, I agree 100% that it should be called Halloween Havoc
TheGreatWhiteChoate - October 10, 2005 04:19 PM (GMT)
It is one of the worst names conceivable.
theintensifier - October 10, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
Of course the polls were rigged. I don't see how people voted more for Shelton Benjamin to face Jericho, than Batista (who was getting mad pops). And of course the World title match was rigged, it was the feud that wouldn't DIE. Benoit was still over huge, and there's no way HBK would out vote him in 2004.
Hopefully this years PPV is a lot better match wise than last years.
Real F'n Show - October 10, 2005 09:55 PM (GMT)
Is this just Raw superstars again this year?
Mad Dog - October 10, 2005 09:57 PM (GMT)
Yeah the commercial had picking a gimmick for Angle/Cena and HHH/Flair.
jamiegeist - October 11, 2005 12:19 AM (GMT)
Fuck internet voting, all this talk of Havoc.......we need the wheel.
SPIN THE WHEEL.........MAKE THE DEAL........
Scrooge McSuck - October 14, 2005 09:15 AM (GMT)
If Jericho/Benjamin was rigged, how come Batista was pushed the hardest to challenge Jericho? To swerve people into voting for someone else?
SamoaRowe - October 14, 2005 01:56 PM (GMT)
Actually, since it was Benjamin instead of Batista, I have a feeling that it really wasn't rigged. I wouldn't have expected a heel to have that much support from the fans.
Scrooge McSuck - October 14, 2005 04:37 PM (GMT)
Just to point this out... Rhino got more consideration by the booking than Benjamin. :P Which again makes me believe either Vince Russo thought this up, or the crowd actually wanted to see Benjamin and not Hoss o' the Month and a guy thats been buried for 2 years.

That's how every match should be decided.
dynamite kido - October 21, 2005 01:05 PM (GMT)
pwinsider is reporting that the fans will be voting on which persona that Mick Foley is going to wrestle Carlito as at the PPV (Cactus Jack, Mankind, or Dude Love)......
Scrooge McSuck - October 21, 2005 02:47 PM (GMT)
Why not just book it as Cactus Jack? There's no way in hell Dude Love is winning (unless it's rigged), and Mankind will probably get some votes, but not enough to contest Cactus.

I think Mankind stands a chance since it's been so very long since Foley played that character. Cactus Jack is a violent, bad-ass and all, but fans associate Mankind with the "glory" years of the WWF attitude era the most.
Scrooge McSuck - October 21, 2005 06:26 PM (GMT)
Uh-huh... Mankind ain't winning, no matter what you try and say. It'll place 2nd, but I guarante Cactus Jack gets at least 60% of the votes. Mankind maybe 25%, and Dude Love will get as much as 10%. (yes, I know that's only 95, but I said "at least" for Cactus)
SamoaRowe - October 21, 2005 06:41 PM (GMT)
I doubt Cactus Jack will get that much support. Seriously, I think Mankind will give Cactus a run for his money.
Scrooge McSuck - October 21, 2005 06:46 PM (GMT)
To be honest, I'm actually hoping Dude Love wins. :P I wouldn't mind Mankind either, but I just think the marks (and they out number us) will vote Cactus all the way.
SamoaRowe - October 21, 2005 07:22 PM (GMT)
Yeah, those marks sure know how to ruin Taboo Tuesday results :P I mean, what were they thinking voting for an injured Shawn Michaels last year!
Scrooge McSuck - October 21, 2005 07:27 PM (GMT)
Yeah! Fuck Michaels. We all know the Champion is winning (or Angle), so vote for the guy who'll never get another shot for another year... ;)
prof_plague - October 21, 2005 08:09 PM (GMT)
I would like to see Dude Love or Mankind. I was never a big fan of Cactus Jack.

According to WWE.com, this is the card and possible stipulations for WWE’s Taboo Tuesday:
WWE Title: John Cena © vs. Kurt Angle vs. Fans Vote: (HBK, Kane or Big Show)
WWE Intercontinental Title Match: Ric Flair © vs. HHH: Fans Vote: ("One Fall to a Finish," a Submission Match or an unforgiving Steel Cage Match.) |
Lame. I'm not looking forward to this match, and including a normal match stip is lame. People won't vote for that, cause its stupid, and they dont know what that quote means anymore. I guess I want submission.
QUOTE
World Tag Team Title Match: Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch © vs. (Losers of Fan Voting for the World Title Match)
Its gonna be hard to let them retain over Kane and Big Show. The tag team division dies a little more every day.
QUOTE
Edge and Chris Masters vs. Fan Vote: (Two of these SD Superstars: JBL, Rey Mysterio, Matt Hardy, Christian and Hardcore Holly)
Shouldn't this be on a dual PPV at the very least? Rey and Matt should get the nod, since its v 2 heels. Which is precisely why this kind of thing doesn't work. People aren't going to align with RAW when two heels are defending them. Dur. I'll vote for JBL and Christian.
QUOTE
Carlito vs. Mick Foley Fans Vote: (The Fans choose which face of Foley Carlito will face, Mankind, Cactus Jack or Dude Love.)
So stupid I don't know what to say. I'll be voting ALOT for Dude Love though. This match has no place.
QUOTE
Steve Austin vs. The Coach Fans Vote: erbal Debate, Arm Wrestling Contest or Street Fight. (If Stone Cold wins JR gets his job back, if Coach wins Stone Cold is fired)
Gee, I wonder what wins here. I'll be voting verbal debate. This is also very stupid.
QUOTE
Fulfill your fantasy Diva Battle Royal, Trish defends the Women’s Title against Ashley, Mickie James, Maria, Torrie Wilson, Candice and Victoria: Fans Vote: (Divas will wear Lingerie, leather & lace, or cheerleader outfits.
Hmmm, I guess I'll go lingerie. Cause they wear alot less than cheerleader outfits on a regular basis. At least Scrooge gets his (very gay) wish with the exlusion of Schoolgirl outfits.
Scrooge McSuck - October 23, 2005 12:58 PM (GMT)
Yeah, but I don't get my maids, so fuck it. I'd rather have schoolgirls than ultra lame cheerleaders.
World Title Match: If Michaels doesn't win by at least 60% of the votes, I'll laugh.
Austin/Coach: Who cares?
Foley/Carlito: Carlito better go over clean.
Raw vs. SD: Again, who cares?... and HARDCORE HOLLY!?
Tag Titles: Cade & Murdoch are fucked, but at least Kane gets a title for once.
Mad Dog - October 23, 2005 01:42 PM (GMT)
I just went ahead and merged these since the Taboo Tuesday thread was only two pages.
prof_plague - October 23, 2005 05:51 PM (GMT)
May be Mickie James will win the Women's title. (Although I'd also favour Victoria winning it, or Trish retaining.)
I see the Tag title match ending in DQ.
Scrooge McSuck - November 1, 2005 03:03 PM (GMT)
Taboo Tuesday looks...interesting tonight.
Main Event: Ric Flair vs. Triple H
Yes, this has been hyped equal to (if not more than) the World Title Match, so if it goes last, that's the tie breaker. Apparently it's for the IC Title, the title HHH labeled beneath him in 2002, but not when he squashed Jericho and Jeff Hardy for it in 2001.
World Title: John Cena vs. Kurt Angle vs. HBK
Eh... I hate Triple Threat matches, but keep Cena out of it or let Angle do all the work, and it'll be fine.
Tag Titles: Cade/Murdoch vs. Kane/Show
Kane is injured, so no doubt Show will doing the bulk of the work... lucky us. Obvious winner here is the 2 Giants, but does WWE have enough faith (or stupidity) to keep Kane wrestling with a possible broken back?
Batista vs. Coach
So Austin backs out when he learns he has to job to Jonathon fucking Coachman (that's like asking Hulk Hogan to job to Karl Malone), so Batista is a 11th hour replacement, with no real history. Oh yeah, and Coach has Vader and Goldust with him, even though both left the WWF as fan favorites and both got good pops for their entrances.
Mick Foley vs. Carlito
Carlito better go over, or they're just fucking him in the ass with a steel dildo even more... and way to go WWE, booking another Non-Wrestler on a PPV.
Edge/Masters vs. (Rey-JBL-Christian-Matt-Holly)
Woah man... Edge is injured, Christian quit, and this match is going to suck serious ass if Rey and Matt don't have their working boots on and dont botch everything.
Eugene/(Duggan-Snuka-Kamala) vs. Conway/Tomko
Yes, people pay $35 to see a retarded, the HeAT crew, and an over-the-hill has-been that hasn't been a full-time wrestler since Bill Clinton was president.
Womens Battle Royale
Fluff...
It's like WCW all over again. Pointless matches featuring people that haven't been active for several decades, last minute substitutions because one of their top names backs out at the last minute, and Triple H ego storking his way into the main event again, despite not being the World Champion (see also: Hulk Hogan in WCW)
SamoaRowe - November 1, 2005 03:18 PM (GMT)
Main Event: Ric Flair vs. Triple H
World Title: John Cena vs. Kurt Angle vs. HBK
Tag Titles: Cade/Murdoch vs. Kane/Show
Batista vs. Coach
Mick Foley vs. Carlito
Edge/Masters vs. (Rey-JBL-Christian-Matt-Holly)
Eugene/(Duggan-Snuka-Kamala) vs. Conway/Tomko
Womens Battle Royale
Um... Mickie James!
So yeah, I really don't know who will win tonight, this is more of who I would like to see win.
Real F'n Show - November 2, 2005 12:05 AM (GMT)

Oh, was that a serious question? Nope, I'm probably going to lurk about message boards for a couple of hours hearing reports of what is going on. If I'm lucky, I'll actually get myself to put together a presentation for Thursday.
SamoaRowe - November 2, 2005 01:26 AM (GMT)
I'm reading reports saying that Edge has backed out of the Taboo Tuesday match, and the opener (going on right now) is Chris Masters and Gene Snitsky against Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy.
And apparently there have been some "We Want Christian" chants.
SamoaRowe - November 2, 2005 01:35 AM (GMT)
Eugene and Jimmy Snuka just beat Rob Conway and Tyson Tomko, if anyone cares.

Yeah, that was pretty cool.
And a new report says Foley won the match. That was certainly quick.
