How the hell did a 12 second squash get *3/4 rating?

Mad Dog - October 12, 2005 05:08 PM (GMT)
Must've been one hell of a Pedigree.

prof_plague - October 12, 2005 07:50 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (Mad Dog @ Oct 12 2005, 11:08 AM)
Must've been one hell of a Pedigree.

Yeah. I decided to keep the star ratings that EWR gives. Even if I kept the match that EWR created with Funaki vs. Triple, it would've have been may be a minute. I just exaggerated it, and made it 12 seconds.

Poor Fuanki. :(

NWA North East TV, Week One.
Taped from the NWA Arena in Brighton Beach

Your hosts are Simon Inoki (Catchphrase: " Nice Variation of the....SUPLEX!!!!!) and color commentator James Mitchell (Note: this is a rotating gig)

1.Christian Cage won a 30 Man North East Rumble Gauntlet. The rules were so stupid and hard to follow. You could be eliminated by pinfall, submission, being thrown over the top (but only if you couldn’t meet a count of 10) and, confusingly, DQ. Anyway, the match was heavily edited for TV. Cage pinned Buff Bagwell to win number one contendership to the NWA World Title.

2. A video package for Dusty Rhodes aired.

3. Matt Striker def. Randy Orton by DQ after interference from Cowboy Bob Orton. This is leading to Striker vs. Bob next week.

4. Lita Dumas was in the ring throwing tshirts to the crowd. Three guys came out. They introduced themselves as “All That And Moore” – All That Matt Murphy and Superstar Steve Moore, and their huge dumb bodyguard, Mr. Justice. The idea is that they’re pathetic and delusional about their place in the wrestling world. Anyway – Murphy propositioned Lita, she kicked him in the nuts, Justice gave her a Canadian Backbreaker. The end.

5. Jazz def. April Hunter, Luna Vachon and Asya in a fourway. This is leading to the first ever Husband and Wife fourway at New York Knockout. Jazz won when Red Dawg Mack tried to trip up Hunter, and Jazz rolled her up.

6. Buff Bagwell came out and called out Christian. They brawled. This is leading to Buff vs. Christian and NYK.

7. Ron Killings and Orlando Jordan def. Shelton Benjamin and Jumpsteady when Benjamin turned on Jumpsteady. I’m as shocked as you are. All three kicked the crap out of him and left together.

8. In a special dark match that took place after the main event – Prime Time won a 20 Man Cruiserweight Battle Royal, pinning Zack Gowen. This is setting up Gowen vs. Skipper next week.

Mad Dog - October 13, 2005 02:10 AM (GMT)
I hope this leads to Skipper taking Gowen's fake leg and beating him with it.

eStragand - October 13, 2005 04:30 AM (GMT)

NWA Midwest Saturday Night 11-05-05

“THE AYATOLLAH OF ROCK AND ROLLAH!!!!!"

Chris Jericho, music blaring, emerges from behind the curtain and the fans go
wild. He makes his way down the walkway with a cocksure purpose. He saunters
into the ring and grabs a microphone.

Joey Styles: Oh great, we’re in for something now.

Jericho: "Welcome to SATURDAY NIGHT JERICHO!!!!!! It is I, the AYATOLLAH OF ROCK
AND ROLLAH, the KING OF BLING BLING, CHRIS JERICHO! That's right, ladies and
Gentlemen and Jerichoholics of all ages, now that I am here, you have a Champion of Champions. Go ahead,
whoever is in charge back there, bring out the Midwestern Championship. Just
slap it around my waist. Your search for a champion is over! I’m the only possible choice you have…

“Blitzkrieg Bop” by the Ramones plays and out from the curtain peeks Spanky. The crowd cheers and he does the running man down the aisle. He hops into the ring.

Jericho: Who are you?

Spanky: I’m Spanky

Jericho: I don’t care what you did in the locker room before you came out.

Joey Styles: Well, lets hope the censors got that one.

Jericho: WHO… ARE… YOU?

Spanky: MY… NAME… IS… SPANKY.

Jericho: You’re kidding me, that’s your name? Oh, that’s rich. Really. So what the hell are you doing out here, Spanko?

Spanky: I’m coming out here to put my name in the hat.

Jericho: Put your name in the hat? I’m sorry, but unless you’re talking about the hat that fat ass-clown is wearing in the front row, I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Spanky: I want a chance to win the NWA Midwest Title.

Jericho: HA! Wow, that was a great one. But EVERYONE knows that only I, CHRIS JERICHO, am worthy of the NWA Midwest…

Clapping is heard in the arena. From behind the curtain walks CHRIS BENOIT!!

Joey Styles: Benoit?

Tazz: This is heating up, Joey.

Benoit: Congratulations. I am amused. You two make one hell of a cute couple. But let’s get serious here. That title is going to be mine. And I’m more than willing to prove it, right here, and right now.

Jericho: Hold it there, crappler. Nobody’s going to do anything except for hand me that..

“THE SCAR….. SHALL BECOME…. THE SYMBOL…”

Out from behind the curtain steps Matt Hardy. Benoit turns to face Hardy, and Hardy looks at Jericho & Spanky.

Hardy: You know, as exciting as this is… I think something needs to be done here. Let me be the first to offer a plan. Let’s have a match. Let’s give everyone who wants one a shot at the belt. Let’s..

Joey Styles: Oh my God…. Is that…????

Tazz: It is, Joey, it’s RHINO!!!!

From the crowd leaps Rhino, who runs into the ring and gores Spanky, and then Jericho. Benoit runs into the ring, and Hardy soon after. Others come into the melee, including Ace Steel ,Dustin Rhodes, Jeff Hardy, Bobby Roode, Chad Collyer, Alex Shelley, Austin Aries and Jonny Storm. They brawl for a moment.

Tazz: This is a serious rocket buster!

AFI blares over the sound system. Out from behind the curtain walks CM Punk.

Joey Styles: If this is what I think it is, we’re going to be here for a little bit more

Punk: You guys. This is great. Everyone fighting in the ring, smacking each other around, all trying to prove whose better than who. When you should all know one simple fact: I’m Better Than All Of You.

Styles: Who does this guy think he is, Steve Corino?

Punk: That’s right, I’ve gotten where I’m at the old fashioned way. No Drugs, No Steroids, No Alcohol, No Tobacco Unlike the rest of you. You worthless pieces of…

::SMACK::

Punk cringes in pain as Samoa Joe emerges from the curtain. Joe hauls Punk by his tights and hair into the ring. The brawl ensues.

Styles: Now he’s heading to the ring the old fashioned way. Dear God. Who’s in charge here?

MATCH #1: Alex Shelley d. Delirious *1/4

Delirious confuses Shelley with lots of erratic behavior, and then racks himself on the turnbuckle. Shelley uses it to his advantage and wins with the Shellshock.

Melina is backstage with MNM:

Melina: Boys, it’s time that MNM make their mark in NWA Midwest. We’ve got all eyes on us, including Tara, Paris, Ashton, Nick & Jessica, ok, maybe just Nick. Well, we’ve got a lot of people with their eyes on us. And we have to make sure we make one hell of a point.

The boys nod in agreement.

Match #2 : The Naturals vs. The Briscoe Brothers vs. Southern Comfort vs. MNM-**

A good four way tag that allowed all the teams involved to showcase their respective stuff. It’s broken up, though, by the Dudley Boys, who bring weapons.

Joey Styles: OH MY GOD! It’s the DUDLEYS!!!!

Tazz: AND THEY’VE BROUGHT FRIENDS!!!

The Naturals attack the Briscoes, MNM attacks Southern Comfort, and The Dudleys attack everyone. 3-D on Jay Briscoe. 3-D on Chase Stevens. MNM slip out of the ring. Southern Comfort put up a heck of a fight. Bubba is fighting with Tracy Smothers. D-Von attacks him from behind and Smothers gets the 3-D. Everyone is around the ring while the Dudleys taunt them all.

Backstage, Nigel McGuiness is letting Chad Collyer know that Nigel understands being Southern, as Nigel is from South Britain.

Match 3: Chad Collyer d. Nigel McGuiness **½

Chad takes Nigel to Southern School. Nigel didn’t seem too happy, as he attacked Chad afterward. Sore loser.

Match 4: 10 man Battle Royal: *¼
Jericho vs. Benoit vs. Spanky vs. Joe vs. Punk vs. Rhino vs. Dustin Rhodes vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy vs. Austin Aries

Joey Styles: Apparently, from what I’ve been told, this is going to be for the NWA Midwest title. Take that with a grain of salt, though, as I heard it from Spanky. I’m still trying to figure out who’s in charge here.

They all start in the ring at the same time. Dustin Rhodes was the first gone. Aries gets thrown out by Joe, who in turn starts chopping everyone around. He gets to Benoit last and the two stare each other down. By this time, though, Spanky, Jericho, Punk, and Matt Hardy all decide that Joe would be the next to be eliminated. He tries to fight them off, but in the end he loses the battle. Jeff Hardy gets to his feet and talks to Matt about some double teaming. Together they eliminate Rhino and Spanky. Punk catches Jeff in the midst of a “Whisper in the Wind” and tries to power bomb Jeff over the ropes. Matt takes advantage and eliminates them both. HEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLL TURN!!!!!!

So it’s down to Matt Hardy, Jericho, and Benoit. Of course there’s a double team on Benoit. Benoit actually catches Hardy by surprise and it’s down to the two Chris’. They go at it for a bit, and Benoit gets the Crippler Crossface locked on. Unfortunately, though, you can’t win this via tapout. Benoit goes up top for a flying head butt, and Jericho knocks him clean to the floor for the win. Jericho starts to celebrate.

Jericho: Thank you, Thank you!! Go ahead, monkeys in the back, BRING ME MY BELT! Now, not only am I a certified ROCK AND ROLL SUPERSTAR, but I’m also the NWA MIDWESTERN CHAMPION.

He looks to the back.

Jericho: Come on, bring me my belt!

Bagpipes play and out walks Rowdy Roddy Piper.

Styles: OH MY GOD!!!! IT’S RODDY PIPER!

Taz: What’s he doing here?

Styles: Something tells me that he’s going to be in charge from here on out, Tazz.

Piper: Well well. Congratufreakinglations. But I don’t think anyone will be getting the NWA Midwest Championship tonight. No no no.

Jericho: Then what the hell did I just beat all these ass-clowns for?

Piper: Well, You could have done it for pride, but I’m pretty sure you got enough of that as it is.

Styles: No kidding.

Piper: So, let me tell you what’s going to happen, since I’ve been put in charge and all. I think that what you’ve earned is..

Jericho: THE NWA MIDWESTERN CHAMPIONSHIP!

Piper: Now hold on there, sonny, let me finish my sentence and you might learn something interesting.

Jericho: I don’t want something interesting, I want my belt.

Piper: Well then, I’ll just tell the NWA Championship Committee that we won’t be sending anyone to the NWA World Championship Tournament.

Jericho: That’s right, just give me my…. Wait, What did you just say?

Piper: Well, you just won a chance to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Would you like it or are you gonna keep flapping your gums?

Jericho: The World Title? That’s more like it! Of course I’ll take it!

Piper: Now, you’re not the only one getting a shot at World Titles. After Tonight, I’m gonna petition for the Dudley Boys to get a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Titles. And next week, we’re going to decide who gets a shot at the NWA United States Title, The NWA Television Title, and the NWA X Division title.

Styles: Well, then. I guess I’ll be here next week.

Piper: And as for the NWA Midwestern Championship, that will be decided on December 11th at a little shindig I’m gonna call December Destruction.

Tazz: That’s gonna be one incredible night!

Rowdy Roddy explains that tonight is all about the X Division. There will be two three way dance matches, and the winners will face off in a singles match. Whoever wins tonight will represent NWA Midwest in the tournament for the NWA X Division Title.

MATCH #1: Jimmy Jacobs vs Delirious vs. Austin Lee-*¼

Delirious pulls his usual insane antics, which actually allows Jacobs and Austin Lee to wrestle one on one for a bit. It’s almost an even pairing, but Delirious distracts Lee, which allows Jacobs to hit the Contra Code. Lee is eliminated. Jacobs watches as Delirious puts on a one man match for a short while, bumping and hitting moves without anyone else involved. Jacobs finally gets involved, and it looks like Delirious could win, but Jacobs pulls out a win on a self-winded Delirious.

Winnner: Jacobs, over Lee, then Delirious

BACKSTAGE….

Last week, Matt Hardy eliminated CM Punk from the Battle Royale. The problem is, he also eliminated his brother. Why? Why Matt Why? Well, boo-freaking hoo. His entire career, Matt has been the more talented and the more stable of the two. But every time Matt signs an autograph, who do people ask about? Jeff. And who do people always talk about? Jeff.

Well, if it wasn’t for Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy wouldn’t be such a household name. As a matter of fact, if it wasn’t for Matt Hardy, Jeff would be in the gutter somewhere, picking up the pieces of a ruined life. Matt has always been the stability that Jeff needed to survive. Jeff has been lucky that Matt has sacrificed so much of his own life just to watch out for his brother. But now Matt is tired of it. HE wants the credit that HE deserves. And if it means pushing his brother out of the way, then so be it.

MATCH #2: Austin Aries vs. Petey Williams vs. Mike Quackenbush-**

Aries and Quackenbush start the match out by double teaming Petey Williams. Williams is eventually thrown to the outside. Quackenbush turns to high five Austin Aries, and Aries rolls him up and pulls the tights. Quackenbush is eliminated. Aries stands, and Williams hit’s a Missile Dropkick. After a few near falls Williams finally attempts the Canadian Destroyer, but Aries reverses it. Aries then hit’s the 450 Splash and picks up the win.

Winner: Aries, over Quackenbush, then Williams

“THE AYATOLLAH OF ROCK AND ROLLAH!!!!”

Jericho is hosting the first ever “Jericholics Anonymous” segment, and his first ever guest would be none other than the man he beat to win a spot in the NWA World Title Tournament, “The CRAPPLER” CHRIS BENOIT!

Benoit comes down, and Jericho begins to question him.
First question: How does it feel to know you came this close to beating The Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah?
How does it feel to know you ALMOST won a birth in the NWA Title Tournament?
How does it feel…

Benoit grabs the mic and asks Jericho “How does it feel to TAP OUT?”

Jericho grabs the mic, and Benoit starts a brawl before Jericho can open his mouth. It ends after Benoit put Jericho in the Crossface.

MATCH #3: Austin Aries d. Jimmy Jacobs-***

Jimmy comes out and offers Austin his hand. Aries slaps it away and tells Jacobs to bring it. Jacobs looks peeved that Aries slapped it away, and Aries goes after Jimmy. The two pair up well, and there are plenty of reversals involved, including Aries getting out of the Contra Code twice. The match came to an end when Aries locked in the Rings of Saturn. After the match, Jimmy again offers his hand, and Aries delivered a low blow in return. Aries celebrates his victory.

prof_plague - October 23, 2005 06:36 AM (GMT)
NWA: Mid-Atlantic Saturday Night:
Joey Styles and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan are on commentary

Mexicools (Juventud/Psichosis) def. Jerry Lynn and Tajiri
Mexicools double team the injured ankle of Lynn while the referee is distracted by Tajiri. Juvi hits a Super Crazy Moonsault on Lynn's ankle as Psichosis is holding him down at 10:12. ***1\2

Christopher Daniels is backstage with Commissioner Mick Foley.

Daniels: Commissioner Foley, are you seriously going to make me wrestle Diamond Dallas Page? I mean, he's old. He has no skill; may be 20 years ago, but not now. I don't want him to go into cardiac arrest. I really don't have the time to revive him just so I can pin him.

Foley: What are you talking about Daniels? Of course you're going to fight Dia...wait. No. No, you're not going to wrestle DDP. Tonight, you are going to fight Tajiri. Last week I know you locked Tajiri in broom closet so that Funaki would have to fill in for him because he's his tag partner.

Daniels: So?

Foley: So? So?! You had Funaki counted-out after Triple H had already defeated with the Pedigree in 12 seconds! You couldn't even pin him after 8 and a half minutes. So, tonight you're going to wrestle Tajiri to make-up for that qualifying round you screwed him out of!

Daniels: Whoa, whoa. C'mon. Really. C'mon.

Foley: And, if you happen to beat Tajiri tonight, you have to wrestle DDP next week to advance in the tournament.

Daniels: OK, I can do that. I can beat Tajiri tonight and DDP next week. Not a problem.

Christopher Daniels def. Tajiri with The Angel's Wings at 12:45. ****1\2

Heenan: Well, well, well. Looks who's coming into the arena.

Styles: You mean Kurt Angle?

Heenan: Yeah, looking so suave. Just because he's an Olympic gold medalist, that doesn't make him an NWA: Mid-Atlantic champion. I don't care if he's the biggest name in the company right now. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a good wrestler, I just think Triple H is going beat him tonight, just like he beat Funaki in 12 seconds last week. Angle doesn't stand a chance tonight.

Styles: Say what you will Bobby, but I think Angle has this match, and that title belt in the bag.

Heenan: In the bag? Is he Trick-Or-Treating? Yeah. He's going to go door-to-door, and Angle Lock everyone who answers the door, until he wins the NWA: Mid-Atlantic title. Yeah, what a role model. He makes me sick!

Shawn Michaels def. Kerwin Whit with the Sweet Chin Music at 12:56. After the match, White super kicked Michaels, and hit the Frog Splash from the middle-ropes, and then the top ropes. ***1\4

Goldberg def. Ric Flair via DQ at 7:18 when Flair blatantly low-blowed Goldberg when he thought the referee wasn't looking. Flair struts around the ring. He turns around gets hit by the Spear from Goldberg, who follows with a Jackhammer!**1/4

Kurt Angle def. Triple H via Reversed Referee's Decision at 20:21. Angle locked on the Angle Lock. Triple H kicked-out of the hold, and sent Angle into the referee Earl Hebner, and tossed Angle outside. Triple H followed him to the outside, and nailed him with a sledgehammer, he had hidden under the ring. Triple H rolled Angle back in the ring as Hebner began to come-to. Triple H hit the Pedigree, and busted-open Angle. Hebner called for the bell and stopped the match, declaring Triple H the winner. Garbage began to fill the ring as Triple H mocked the crowd. Referee Mark Johnson came to the ring and explained what had happened. Hebner reversed the decision, disqualifying Triple H. Furious, Triple H toe-kicked, and Pedigreed Hebner, and then Johnson! Fellow referee Mark Finnegan, and road agents Tim White, Jerry Jarrett, and Dean Malenko rushed to the ring. Triple H Pedigreed each staff member as they came into the ring. Medical help rushed to the ring as Triple H left. Doctors Chris Brennan and Simon Oldacre went to the aid of the referees. Triple H sprinted back into the ring, and Pedigreed Brennan and Oldacre, and posed to the crowd. ***3/4.

Big F'N Swigg - October 26, 2005 02:56 AM (GMT)
NWA Midwest Saturday Night 11-19-05…IN PRIMETIME!!!

BACKSTAGE…

Petey Williams is pissed. He got screwed last week when Austin Aries pulled the tights. He talked to Piper afterwards last week, and the X Division tournament entry is on the line. Aries is going to learn not to cross Petey Williams.

Match # 1: John Walters vs. Johnny Jeter vs. Nigel McGuiness vs. J.R. Ryder-*½

This match is for a shot at the NWA World Television Title. J.R. Ryder tries to get the crowd involved by clapping his hands. Nigel walks over and acts as if he’s never been taught how to clap. He starts clapping, and then says to the ref “Oh my god, is that your wife?” The ref looks away and Nigel low blows Ryder and follows it with a roll up. The ref starts the count and Ryder is eliminated. Walters is going to protest, but Johnny Jeter attacks him. Nigel joins in. They double team Walters, and they end up throwing him to the outside. Jeter smiles, and compliments Nigel, who offers Jeter a handshake. Jeter, forgetting that Nigel is also heel, shakes Nigel’s hand. Big Mistake, as Nigel kicks him in the stomach and delivers the Guvnor’s Crumpet. Jeter is now eliminated. Nigel points to his head to show how smart he is. Walters sneaks in behind him and delivers a neck breaker. The fans are happy. Walters takes in some good face offense. Nigel slips outside the ring and falls to the floor. Walters hops out to catch up, and leans down to pick up Nigel. What he doesn’t know, though he should, is that Nigel pulled something from under the ring. So Walters gets clocked with… AN IRON? Nigel rolls him back in the ring and gets the 1-2-3. Which means that he’s going to the NWA World Television Title tournament.

WINNER: Nigel McGuinness

BACKSTAGE…

Benoit has the microphone, and he’s got something to ask Chris Jericho. Just one question, and that’s all he really needs to say. Here’s the question: How did it feel to TAP OUT? Hold on, let’s rephrase that: How did it feel to tap out last week? Since, you know, it was the SECOND time that Jericho tapped. Was it worse the second time? Better? Know one thing, Jericho, it won’t be the last time.

Match # 2: Bobby Roode vs. Samoa Joe vs. Ace Steel-**

This is the first of two Triple Threat matches for a chance at the NWA United States title. This match was TOUGH. All three of these guys beat the tar and feathers off of the other. Roode was the first to get eliminated, and it came at the hands of Samoa Joe and a triangle choke. Steel and Joe went back and forth for a while, but Steel doesn’t have the Stamina to outlast Joe in a brawl, and Joe takes the victory.

WINNER: Samoa Joe

BACKSTAGE….

Jericho is standing in a doorway yelling at his personal assistant. He backs out of the door and bumps into Jeff Hardy, who happens to be walking down the hall with his headphones on. Jericho shoves him and Hardy tries to apologize. Jericho replies with “You’re damn straight you’re sorry!” Hardy tells him to relax. Jericho tells him that he’ll relax, after he kicks Hardy’s ass in the ring TONIGHT!

Match # 3: Petey Williams vs. Austin Aries-***1/4

Williams is a bit peeved about Aries pulling the tights last week, and he lets it show as he tears into Aries before the bell even rings. All goes well for him until Aries tosses him over the top rope to the floor. Williams lands with a thud, and the crowd reacts accordingly. Aries comes off the ropes as if he’s going to deliver a suicide dive, but stops short and taunts the crowd by saying “You’d like that wouldn’t you?” Williams takes the advantage and pulls Aries outside of the ring.

Aries tries to scurry back into the ring, and Williams throws him into the barricade. Aries falls to the floor and Williams goes for an INSANE Asai Moonsault off of the barricade. He connects, but not before Aries could get his knees up. Aries rolls Williams back into the ring and starts some resthold work. Williams refuses to take a break, though and throws Aries into the ropes. Great dropkick by Williams, who takes Aries to the corner for a plate of chops. Williams takes Aries up top, and from out of nowhere comes JIM E. CORNETTE!!! The ref tells Cornette that he can’t be at ringside and Cornette claims to be with Aries. This allows Aries to hit Williams in the no-no spot. Williams falls to the mat and Aries hit’s the 450 Splash to again cheat Williams out of a win.

WINNER: Austin Aries

BACKSTAGE…

Matt Hardy shakes his head. “My Goodness, Jeff. Look at what’s already happened to you. I leave you alone for a few weeks and you’re already getting yourself into situations that you can’t handle.”

Styles: Who said he couldn’t handle Jericho? I’m not saying that.

Taz: I think Matt did, Joey.

Matt looks at the camera. “Now you know, it’s up to me to make sure that you don’t get into too much trouble. Thanks a lot. Like I don’t have better things to do than watch out for you. This could be the last time I ever stick up for you. I hope you know that.”

Match # 4: Rhino vs. Chad Collyer vs. Alex Shelley-**¼

The winner of this match will face Samoa Joe for a shot at the WA United States Title. The match starts out the way everyone would expect, with Rhino dominating. He overpowers both Shelley and Collyer, throwing Shelley out of the ring. Collyer does his best to not get clobbered, but Rhino is working HARD to to crush him. The spot of note comes as Collyer is leaning on the ropes. Rhino sets up for the gore, and Shelley has a chair on the outside. Rhino charges in, Collyer leaps out of the way just as Shelley was swinging the chair to hit Collyer in the back. You know what he hits? Rhino going full speed. Rhino should be thankful, though, because otherwise he would’ve hit the floor. He can’t be too thankful, though, as Collyer covers him. Rhino is eliminated.

Shelley takes this opportunity to attack Collyer, who is still covering Rhino. Shelley brings in some stiff Japanese style kicks to Collyer. Collyer, though, catches on kick and brings Shelley to the ground. He goes for the Texas Cloverleaf, and Shelley crawls to the ropes. Shelley holds on to the ropes and Collyer eases up. Shelley maintains his grip on the ropes, so Collyer grabs his feet and pulls him off the ropes with a THUD. Shelley kicks Collyer in the head and rolls out of the ring. Collyer fakes a suicide dive, and then attempts to catch Shelley with a Tornado DDT. Shelley reverses it, though, with a Northern Lights Suplex. BEAUTIFUL. Unfortunately, it’s outside the ring and Shelley can’t pick up the win out there. Shelley grabs Collyer and rolls him into the ring. He goes for the cover and the pin, but Collyer gets his foot on the rope. Shelley throws Collyer into the ropes and goes for a hip toss. Collyer catches Shelley in the act and floors him, following through with the Texas Cloverleaf for the win.

WINNER: Chad Collyer.

Match # 5: Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy-**¾

Jericho is so confident that he’s better than Hardy that he gives him a free shot. Hardy kicks him in the gut and goes for the Twist of Fate. Jericho pushes him off and does the old drop and leapfrog routine, ending with Jericho dropkicking Hardy. Jericho drops an elbow square into Hardy’s back. Hardy starts to stand up, and Jericho stomps him square in the back. Jericho throws Hardy into the corner, and Hardy climbs the turnbuckles and delivers a spinning heel kick to Jericho’s kisser. Hardy splits Jericho’s legs and delivers a leg drop that might make Jericho cry. After some more offense, Hardy puts Jericho on the top turnbuckle. Hardy goes for a Frankensteiner, but Jericho stops him and jumps to the mat, putting Hardy in the walls of Jericho. Hardy is freaking out, and Jericho looks to be winning. Matt Hardy comes running down to ringside and the girls scream, thinking he’s there to save Jeff. The guys, though, know what’s happening. Matt runs in and shoves Jericho. The ref calls for the DQ. Jericho looks at Matt, and Matt turns around and stomps on Jeff. Jericho shrugs and starts in on Jeff as well, which prompts CHRIS BENOIT to run in for the save. Jericho and Matt run off, and Benoit checks on Jeff.

WINNER: Jeff Hardy by DQ

BACKSTAGE…

The Naturals are waiting, and the person they’re waiting for is JIM E. CORNETTE!!! Cornette announces that he is in NWA Midwest, and he’s here to make an impact. And he’s going to do that with The Naturals and Austin Aries. To prove the impact he can make, he’s going to challenge ANY TEAM to a match with the Naturals next week. ANY TEAM. And he means it.

Match # 6: Samoa Joe vs. Chad Collyer-*½

This match is for a shot at the NWA United States Title. Collyer and Joe stand face to face. Collyer offers a hand and Joe takes it. And then rips it off and uses it to beat Collyer. Not really, but that’s what it looked like. That is, until Joe tried to set Collyer up for a Muscle Buster. Collyer hit a “Blockbuster” neckbreaker from the top turnbuckle and the momentum shifts from there. Collyer grounds Joe, and starts working his arm. Which is good, since Joe uses a Triangle Choke. Collyer keeps control, and decides to attempt to maintain it while bringing Joe to his feet. Collyer tries for a vertical suplex, but Joe decides to reverse it. In mid-air, Joe turns it into a Muscle Buster and goes for the cover. 1-2-3.

WINNER: Samoa Joe.

MATCH #1: Shelley vs. J.R. Ryder-**

Shelley starts the match out with a heelish grin. They lock up, and Shelley takes him to the mat and a fujiwara armbar. Ryder grabs some rope, and Shelley stomps his shoulder. Ryder rolls out of the ring to recoup. Shelley runs as if he’s going to do a suicide dive, but he stops before the leap and shakes his head to taunt the crowd. The ref rolls out to check on Ryder The crowd boos, and then cheers as RHINO runs into the ring. Shelley turns around and meets a GOOOOOOOOOOORRRRREEE!!!! Ryder climbs into the ring, and looks at Shelley, confused. He goes for the cover and gets the 1-2-3.

WINNER: J.R, Ryder thanks to Rhino

BACKSTAGE….

CHAD COLLYER is in the hallway. He whistles some Lynyrd Skynyrd. There’s some shouting from behind him, and he turns around and meets ONYX. Onyx doesn’t like Collyer whistling that racist redneck crap. Collyer looks confused, and apologizes that he somehow offended Onyx. Onyx tells him “Shut yo mouf, foo!” He then tells him that next week, he better bring his boys, “Cuz I be bringing the Blackout, you know what I’m sayin’?” Collyer says no, but it’s too late as Onyx is already gone.

MATCH #2: John Walters vs. Onyx-*½

Joey Styles and Tazz debate who Onyx will bring with him next week. Styles wonders if Collyer even understood Onyx. As for the match, Onyx is MEAN. He fights DIRTY. Walters tries to wrestle, but Onyx likes to punch, stomp and throw Walters around. Walters has to duck into the ropes to keep Onyx off of him. Onyx calls him something we can’t repeat, and I guarantee you it gets bleeped out of the TV show. Walters comes back after Onyx promises to “wrestle.” Walters expects some clean wrestling, but of course Onyx even wrestles dirty. Lots of extra tweaks and such. Walters taps to the Dirty South Stretch.

WINNER: Onyx

MATCH #3: The Lords of the Ring vs. MNM (w/Melina) **1/4

The first of several tag matches tonight. MNM flaunt themselves to the crowd, which allows Conway and Dinsmore to attack them before the bell rings. Conway and Dinsmore overpower MNM for most of the match, but Melina proves to be the difference maker as she flashes some booty at LOTR, who can’t help but look. This allows Mercury and Nitro to knock Conway out of the ring, and deliver the “snapshot” to Dinsmore.

WINNERS: MNM

BACKSTAGE…

Chris Jericho & Matt Hardy are discussing their strategy for their upcoming match with Jeff Hardy & Chris Benoit. They see the camera man and chase him away.

MATCH #4: Austin Aries vs. Johnny Jeter-**1/2

Petey Williams is ringside doing special commentary

Jeter offers a hand, Aries spit’s at it. OOOOOOOHHH SNAP! That’s a burn! Jeter shakes his head. The two start out circling each other. We’re told that Cornette is backstage with the Naturals prepping them for their tag match later on. Back to the match. There’s a series of reversals, and then Aries pulls Jeter’s feet out from underneath him. Some stretching on Jeter, and Aries is using the ropes for leverage. Aries lets up, and Jeter rolls onto his feet. He stretches for a second. They start to go at it again, and Aries gets Jeter in an abdominal stretch. He’s again using the ropes for leverage. It’s about now that Petey Williams gets tired and steps up. He goes to the ring where Aries feet are on the ropes and slaps his feet off the ropes. Aries turns around and Williams is shaking his head, telling him not to use his feet like that. Aries stands up and reaches over to grab Petey, but Johnny Jeter dropkicks Aries in the back. Aries bounces off the ropes and Jeter goes for roll-up. Aries kicks out. Jeter throws Aries into the ropes and Aries holds on to the ropes. Jeter misses on his dropkick. Aries faces the crowd and reaches in his tights. Williams grabs Aries by the feet and pulls him out of the ring. The ref comes over to see what’s happening and Williams wrenches some brass knucks from Aries’ hands. Aries gets pissed but the ref tells him to get back in the ring. It’s about this time that Jim E. Cornette marches down to the ring, tennis racket in hand. He chases Williams, who ends up delivering a drop toe hold to Cornette, whose face meets tennis racket. Back in the ring, Aries delivers a Brainbustah!!!! He climbs to the top rope and hit’s the 450 splash for the victory.

WINNER: Aries, without cheating. No thanks to Petey Williams.

Williams grabs the microphone and tells Aries that he doesn’t need Cornette. He tells him that he doesn’t need to cheat. He just needs to use the talent God gave him. Cornette tells Petey to stick it where the sun doesn’t shine.

BACKSTAGE…..

JOEL GERTNER approaches MNM.

WELL, WELL, WELL. It is I, the quintessential studmuffin, Joel “Nothing better than being back in wrestling, except I don‘t have anyone to manage but myself, and I‘m here to scout talent so I can get paid” Gertner. Now as you two probably already know, I am considered somewhat of a “legend” in our business. I was a commentator, an interviewer and a manager in ECW. You guys know all about that, though, so let me get to the point. I want to manage again. I love your look, I love your in ring work, basically I love it all. So here’s my card. I’ll be in touch.

And man does Melina look pissed.

MATCH #5: The Briscoes vs. The Dudleys-****

The Dudleys are the NWA Midwest representatives for the NWA Tag Titles. They’re here to prove that wasn’t a fluke. But man, do The Briscoes give him a hard time with it. Bubba and D-Von hit all their signature spots, as expected.

WINNER: The Dudleys

The Dudleys are backstage challenging ANYONE to beat them. They are INVINCIBLE. And they’ll put their shot at the NWA Tag Titles on the line for it. Roddy Piper comes out and asks them will they take on more than one team? The Dudleys say yes. Piper asks them would they do it for the NWA Midwestern Tag Team Titles? They say yes. He says that it’s done, then. At Into the Fire the Dudleys will take on three other teams for the NWA Midwestern Tag Team Titles. And the crowd goes wild.

MATCH #6: Jericho & Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy & Chris Benoit-***

The match starts with Matt Hardy and Chris Benoit. Benoit takes Hardy to task, and Hardy looks as if he’s distracted by his brother. So Benoit tags in Jeff. Jeff and Matt stare and scream at each other, and then Jeff goes for the lock up, which Matt sidesteps. Matt pulls Jeff to the ground by his hair, and then stomps on his head while standing on his hair. Matt pulls Jeff up and throws him into the corner before tagging in Jericho. The crowd boos. Jericho plays his hell part like a Fozzy song. Ok, maybe like someone else playing a Fozzy song;. Hardy is DYING for a hot tag. And it seems the crowd REALLY wants it too. But nooooooo. Jericho has to be mean and slap on a resthold. Jericho tags in Matt again. Jeff grabs him and delivers a sit-down jawbreaker that gives him just enough momentum to make the HOT TAG! Benoit comes in pissed off. He clobbers Matt, and hip tosses Jericho. Matt tries to attack Benoit, and gets locked in the CRIPPLER CROSSFACE. Jericho makes the save for his team, though, and stomps Benoit on the head. Jeff tries to interfere, but the ref won’t let him. Matt throws a punch, and gets three german suplexes instead. On the last one, Matt got a tag in to Jericho, who hits Benoit with a missile dropkick. Jeff runs in, but the ref won’t let him. This allows Jericho to deliver a low blow, and Matt to hit the Twist of Fate. Jericho goes for the pin, and sneaks out with a win.

WINNER: Jericho & Hardy

:Goldberg comes to the ring:
