Title: An Idea
Description: DWB Territorial Fed

Mad Dog - September 29, 2005 03:17 PM (GMT)
This would be an EWR sim fed. Each of us would be under the NWA banner and would control a territorty of the United States. Each federation would be in control of it's own territorial titles and we'd have floating Champions as well.

So to start everyone would have to go into their file editor and erase the other federations from the game and create your's. Make sure to back up the current files and stuff.

So then say a week from now we'd start a talent draft. Each of us would start with say 20 guys and go from there. Then you have complete control over what happens in your fed. All that you'd have to do is petition to get the champions to come to your territory to face whoever you offered as challengers. Then every territory owner would vote for the champions to retain or the challengers to win. If champions lose a floating title they'd go back to their original territory. Temporary talent exchanges and talent trading will also be allowed.

To be included you need to be able to post 1 show a week.

There are some other odds and ins I've got worked out but I want to see if you guys would have any interest in this.

eStragand - September 29, 2005 05:23 PM (GMT)
Sounds cool. I have a "virgin" version of EWR on my office computer, so I'm set. I modified the load-up screen to display a shot of my company's products, so it looks like I'm working on something official :)

Can we pick regions? If, I claim my local "rocky mountain region". Mountain time zone--most notably Denver, Albuquerque and Cheyenne. Maybe Boise, Butte and Salt Lake if they're unclaimed.

Mad Dog - September 29, 2005 05:33 PM (GMT)
Yeah, go ahead and claim a territory. I'll go ahead and take Mid-South which will be Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and LA.

SamoaRowe - September 29, 2005 05:57 PM (GMT)
This is a fantastic idea, but I'm afraid I'm way too busy to participate. However, I eagerly look forward to seeing the results.

Mad Dog - September 29, 2005 06:09 PM (GMT)
If you want to join at a later date you'll probably be able to.

I'm thinking our floating titles would be:

NWA World Heavyweight Title
NWA World Tag Team Titles
NWA United States Title
NWA X Division Title

D.A.V.E. - September 29, 2005 06:31 PM (GMT)
Yeah. Go for it. I should be back on the EWR list in the next few days. I eagerly claim NWA Northeast which oughta cover New York, Boston and Philly (But can be calmed down if anyone thinks any different)

Mad Dog - September 29, 2005 06:42 PM (GMT)
Maybe take Boston off your list so someone can claim New England as a territory. We could then add Pittsburgh and New Jersey to your territory.

SamoaRowe - September 29, 2005 08:19 PM (GMT)
Since I live in New England, I'd be fighting for that one (if I were playing). I just might join in later.

D.A.V.E. - September 29, 2005 09:19 PM (GMT)
Hey, thats fair man. I live in Ireland, I just dont want to be stuck with NWA Ireland

Scrooge McSuck - September 30, 2005 12:05 AM (GMT)
I would probably join, but since my computer crashed, my EWR's were deleted (didn't have backed up), and too lazy to hunt for them again.

Mad Dog - September 30, 2005 12:34 AM (GMT)
I can host them for you to download if you'll join up.

Big F'N Swigg - September 30, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
I'll take Midwest: Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky

Scrooge McSuck - September 30, 2005 12:51 AM (GMT)
Hmm... I'll probably answer tomorrow when I'm not dying from the Boston/Toronto, New York/Baltimore, and Cleveland/Tampa games.

Mad Dog - September 30, 2005 01:11 AM (GMT)
Ok, 4 territories are enough to at least get the ball rolling and to explain everything.

Now the first thing I'm going to need you guys to do is download from the following link:

QUOTE
hxxp://downloads.freehomepages.com/pcpages.php?file=/rxewr/RXEWR35.zip

This will get you the rxewr35 update that will have a ton of workers and be one of the more up to date thing for us. All you have to do is unzip, drag the data folder over the old one and it'll replace the folder, remove the old data folder if you want that one. Next I'll need you to go into the file editor and erase every federation except for the one you'll be playing. Your promotion will be a 50 rated national with 15 million in startup money. Titles are completely up to you. Then go to tv shows and give yourself an NWA Saturday Night slot for early evenings on Saturday on TBS. Then just start a game on easy, we're not worried about financials just working together, and we're all set.

The draft will probably take place around Tuesday of next week. I'll randomly pull names out of a hat and that'll be our draft order. Tag teams will go together. We'll probably only do about 20 rounds then you can sign up whoever you want out of the free agent pool after that. Just post on here so someone doesn't also sign the same guy.

The Championship Committee will be made up of all of us with a territory. Since Rowe's the moderator he is the unoffical President of the NWA. He can take part in votes and give input on things. The Committee's job will be to decide where our champions go. Each territory will have to submit a petition at the start of every month with their top challengers. The Committee will then vote on where the champions go. As far as floating titles are concerned, the Committee will vote before every title match and decide the winner. Will the champion retain or will the challenger win? Along with your petition you'll be required to submit a list of your top 10 contenders and from that we'll form a National Top 20 every month.

As territories you will be able to have temporary talent exchanges or permanently trade away talent. All of that is between the owners and the Committee can't get involved. Everything that happens within your territory will be completely up to you except when a floating champion comes to town. As a said earlier 1 show a week is what is asked of you. How much you write on here is up to you.

There will also be 4 huge PPVs a year. Starcade will be our first big one in December. We'll have interpromotional bouts and all that jazz.

If you have any questions please post in this thread.

For Scrooge here's a link to where you can get EWR 4.2:

Big F'N Swigg - September 30, 2005 01:44 AM (GMT)
Will the only company in our game will be the one we're playing as?

Mad Dog - September 30, 2005 01:55 AM (GMT)
Yes, if the WWF were to do talent raids it could really fuck up things.

prof_plague - September 30, 2005 02:59 AM (GMT)
If I can figure this out on my game, could I be the Northeastern territory?

Mad Dog - September 30, 2005 04:28 AM (GMT)
Dave's claimed the Northeastern. Florida, New England, Texas, Mid-Atlantic and the west coast territories are all open.

If you need any help editting the game just PM me and I can give you a more indepth description.

How about New England or Mid-Atlantic? How about we could just give DAVE NWA: Ireland. ;) (j/k)

eStragand - September 30, 2005 04:04 PM (GMT)
I'm set to roll as "NWA:MWF" (NWA: Mountain West Federation)

Mad Dog - September 30, 2005 05:05 PM (GMT)
Cool. I'm going to put up a draft thread and what I need from you guys sometime this weekend. I'm still considering the best way to do a draft.

D.A.V.E. - September 30, 2005 06:47 PM (GMT)
I'm not gonna be able to start until tuesday or Wednesday, on account of Amazon delaying sending me Virtual PC, but I'd still like to take part.

Mad Dog - September 30, 2005 06:57 PM (GMT)
You should be fine. I don't plan on having the draft till about then anyway. Maybe even Thursday depending.

Mad Dog - September 30, 2005 07:17 PM (GMT)
Ok so here's how the drafts going to work.

I'll need everyone to submit to me a list of the workers you want the most ranked 1-100. Please PM these to me. There's no rush to do this, I'll give you about a week to do them. I will then pick your names at random and that'll be our draft order. This will take care of everyone's first 20 workers.

Then after you've had some time to look over your guys I'll have you submit a second list of 100 workers you want and we'll have a second draft. That'll give everyone 40 workers and close to what the game needs for you to not lose image.

Remember you have to take tag teams together.

If you have any questions about editting the files like I mentioned earlier please PM me with any questions and I will help you out. So far this is what we've got:

Mad Dog: NWA: Mid South
eStragand: NWA: Mountain West
D.A.V.E: NWA: Northeast
BigSwigg: NWA: Midwest
prof plague: NWA: Mid-Atlantic

D.A.V.E. - September 30, 2005 07:43 PM (GMT)
Christ I should have kept the lists of guys I had in my old games.

100 guys? Yeesh

Actually, here's a question regarding Japanese workers. Say If I wanted Satoshi Kojima. But so did You, or Swigg. Do we work something out between us, or instead, have all the Japanese guys as "visiting workers from NWA Japan", and we can only use them sparingly

Mad Dog - September 30, 2005 07:55 PM (GMT)
That's a good question actually.

We'll say those are coming over from NWA: Japan and can be here as long as it's not a month where they'd be in Japan. That way they can show up in whatever territory wants them for a few shows a month. I hadn't thought of that mostly because I thought the expense of a lot of Japanese guys would scare people off.

But for now we'll say Japanese talent are not exclusive and can appear for whoever.

D.A.V.E. - September 30, 2005 08:05 PM (GMT)
The Expense would put people off, but If I was having a big show and wanted the Triple Crown holder to appear, it'd be worth it.

Further question. Later on, suppose, since the game is completely random, could be set up a talent pool between us, in case someone gets an injury or gets fired, as is wont to do, and I'd like to replace them, and something similar happens to Swigg, and chooses the same guy - just to avoid that sort of thing.

Mad Dog - September 30, 2005 08:16 PM (GMT)
I was thinking the free agents left after the first 2 drafts would become journeymen and could appear for 2 or 3 feds.

We'll also have a transactions thread where we'll post signings, firings and injuries.

eStragand - September 30, 2005 08:41 PM (GMT)
How would we handle announcers, managers and other non-wrestlers?

Mad Dog - September 30, 2005 08:44 PM (GMT)
Staff just hire whoever's best. I figure announcers could do multiple shows. That and good staff talent is thin and we'd be screwing each other over.

Non-wrestlers are exclusive. I'm torn on managers, on the one hand I can see them having guys from different territories.

Real F'n Show - September 30, 2005 11:03 PM (GMT)
Tah-dah. This deserves a SUB FORUM OF DOOM~!

And I will NOT be participating, sadly, being as EWR always fucks up my home computer and I'd get in trouble for doing this at work. Plus I doubt I'd be able to submit a show a week, but I'll sure as hell be following this bad boy. Good luck to all involved.

Mad Dog - September 30, 2005 11:41 PM (GMT)
Nice! Thank you very much RFS.

Real F'n Show - October 1, 2005 12:04 AM (GMT)
No problem, feel free to do the draft, or whatever you want here.

Big F'N Swigg - October 1, 2005 03:17 AM (GMT)
So let's say the computer creates a fed, would it just be non NWA competition within our respective regions?

I think it might be better to draft managers similarly to wrestlers.

Will we be able to use an EWR Editor?

Mad Dog - October 1, 2005 04:15 AM (GMT)
Yeah anything the computer does will just be someone else popping up in your region. Yeah I agree with managers. We'll do them like regular talent.

Do you mean just the file editor on the program or an outside source?

Big F'N Swigg - October 1, 2005 09:15 PM (GMT)
I meant an outside source. I would think it best we didn't, but I wanted to clarify

D.A.V.E. - October 1, 2005 10:59 PM (GMT)
He means Arsenic. I think

Mad Dog - October 2, 2005 12:02 AM (GMT)
Ah yes, none of those.

D.A.V.E. - October 2, 2005 12:40 AM (GMT)
Actually, I think, In extreme circumstances - it might be a half decent idea. No one wants to see anyone's game die due to financial strits or something like that.

Furthermore, regarding this Pool of workers we're all gonna have access to - if another company forms in our region and takes some of these guys, do they become unusable for everyone else?

Also, can my NWA Northeast have our own titles?

Mad Dog - October 2, 2005 12:59 AM (GMT)
Yeah, each territory can have whatever titles it wants. The floating titles are just our world titles.

Like in my promotion I have:

Southern Heavyweight
Southern Tag Team
Southern Lightweight
Mississippi

I don't imagine a promotion starting up will cause you much trouble. They'll be smaller and will only have guys on open contracts. So you'll probably be able to steal them away or use them too.

Yeah, I guess we'll make special circumstances for an outside editor. But we'll hammer that out as we go.
