Title: What are the odds on Rock showing up
Description: At Homecoming?

D.A.V.E. - September 28, 2005 12:12 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I know this will probably be in the Raw thread but I got to thinking. What if the WWE has Rock as a special unannounced guest next week. I know they went to great lengths to announce all the guys coming back for the show, and I thought it'd be really cool if Rock just showed up, out of the blue.

Ok, really, I just want Ken Kennedy.......Kennedy, to be one of the Smackdown guys on the show, and do the "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU'RE NAME IS" bit. It's been going around my head since last night

SamoaRowe - September 28, 2005 12:16 AM (GMT)
A Rock/Kennedy encounter would be great.

However, I highly doubt the Rock will make any type of appearance on Raw Homecoming. And to be honest, I don't think the Rock should even come back in any degree unless it's full-time. I know that is just about impossible right now, but let's just wait for his Hollywood career to die out. I saw the preview for Doom and it looks to be on the same level as Mortal Kombat Annihilation.

Scrooge McSuck - September 28, 2005 12:22 AM (GMT)
What a terrible thing to say. Nothing could be worse than Mortal Kombat: The Argument For Suicide.

Oh, okay, it may not be THAT bad. Perhaps it's more of a Street Fighter (with Van Damme) level.

Scrooge McSuck - September 28, 2005 12:26 AM (GMT)
... Please stop name dropping horrible movies based off fighting games. You're giving me the runs.

And I hadn't gotten to the animated Tekken movie yet :P

Out of fairness, I only saw the last 15 minutes or so of that one, but it was pretty crappy.

::Waits to hear news that the Rock has been signed for a live action Tekken film::

D.A.V.E. - September 28, 2005 12:29 AM (GMT)
Actually - Doom is getting shockingly decent press. A lot of it is because id, the game's producers, have been invloved with production from Day One - the look of the film is said to be cool (including the soon to be ripped off in every film ever "FPS Cam") and the casting - actors like Rock, Karl Urban and Rosamund Pike being cast over the nameless stuntpeople who tend to get hired for this sort of crap.

It could be worse. Paul Anderson could be directing

SamoaRowe - September 28, 2005 12:35 AM (GMT)
Honestly, I thought the "FPS" cam shots in the preview were incredibly hokey.

D.A.V.E. - September 28, 2005 12:38 AM (GMT)
They're different, if nothing else. And, considering the film's origin, it's making an effort. I fully assume the Halo and Far Cry movies will perfect the idea

Oh, wait, Uwe Boll is making Far Cry.

Mad Dog - September 28, 2005 12:40 AM (GMT)
I'd say chances are between zero and no chance in hell. I think the WWF blew whatever chance they had of his rare appearances when they just let his contract run out with no contact earlier this year. You won't see him in a wrestling ring again unless he shows up in TNA or whenever he gets added to the WWF Hall of Fame.

I didn't even know those two were going to be movies. I mean, I figured as much with Halo, but I'm actually a bit surprised about Far Cry.

I really liked the Street Fighter movie. I actually own it

I own it too. It's a part of my bad movies collection.

And in all honesty, I enjoyed it as a young kid, though I wished they'd been a bit more faithful to the video game. Later on, I dug the anime version of Street Fighter II.

What this all has to do with the Rock is beyond me.

Scrooge McSuck - September 28, 2005 02:21 AM (GMT)
Who knows? But Rocky ain't coming back any time soon, especially when it's not anywhere near where he's filming crappy movies or in his hometown.

Back to SF2... I bought a VHS Copy of Street Fighter for $4. That's really the only reason, and because I thought it couldn't be that bad.

SamoaRowe - September 28, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
Or we could discuss Sonny Chiba's Street Fighter, which is actually a pretty good film. You can find it on cheap-o dvd collections all over the place.

Scrooge McSuck - September 28, 2005 02:40 AM (GMT)
I think I saw that on Amazon before, but never cared to look closely. I'll stick with the Animated Movie from 1994.

Will the Rock show up at Homecoming.............no.

Does Street Fighter with Sonny Chiba kick series types of ass? YES.

prof_plague - September 29, 2005 12:16 AM (GMT)
Raw - no. They'd probably hype that to no end if it were to happen.

WrestleMania...may be. (And to Cena over. ;))

dynamite kido - September 29, 2005 05:24 AM (GMT)
The Rock has said recently in an interview (for what, it escapes me) that he'd be at Mania................but he wouldn't be wrestling.

Although that could change at any time.

For the right price he might.

SamoaRowe - September 30, 2005 01:52 AM (GMT)
I heard a report that Rock has really let go of his work-out schedule and has lost most of his muscles. He'd have to get back in shape if he intended to wrestle at all (of course, he could always revert back to his attire from late 98/early 99).

So many wrestlers stop working out once they leave the ring. He could probably get away with it anyhow, as long as he still looks "in-shape."

Scrooge McSuck - September 30, 2005 08:03 PM (GMT)
You mean in ring-shape? As how as he doesn't look like Tatanka, I don't care. He's never been Mr. Musclehead anyway.

Those were my thought actually. So, as long as he looks like he could be in the ring, they can put him in the ring. Cna he carry match? Got me. But has that stopped the WWE before?
