Not the greatest selection of matches, but I'm much more interested in the documentary and promos, because as a wrestler, he wasn't that good. Most of his matches I would call great were with the same 3 people (in WWF that is): Ricky Steamboat, Ted Dibiase, and Randy Savage.

I'll just continue to save my money for the Bret Hart, TNA, WrestleMania, and maybe some non-wrestling merchandise.

Bitch*... recognize the greatness of Jake Roberts!

* - No offense.

They should've had his fued with Randy Savage on there.

The meat of the DVD is the documentary. It doesn't go into details about stuff that aren't matches, but I'm sure they put plenty of his awesome promos, and hopefully the 2 from TTiT.

I think I just filled the cup

This one's really going to depend on how much it is to get me to buy it. If it's horribly overpriced like the Stars of the 80's DVD set was, I'm going nowhere near it.

Scrooge McSuck - September 17, 2005 07:41 PM (GMT)
It's (most likely) 2 discs, so I see it being around $21 like all the others. If it's considerably more than that, I'll wait for some opinions on the documentary portion.

The one thing that I hate about most of these is the fact that if you're remotely an avid tape/DVD collector you probably have 90% of the matches on these. Otherwise making it totally unjustifiable to buy the DVD JUST for the feature.

Scrooge McSuck - September 17, 2005 07:52 PM (GMT)
Good point. From a match collection stand point, I have half of these matches, and the ones I don't I probably won't be interested in (Jake/Rude, Jake/DWB), or wouldn't be good enough to justify a purchase based soley on that. However, if WWF puts plenty of classic Jake promos, it balances out.

Mad Dog - September 18, 2005 05:49 PM (GMT)
Man, 4 post 1992 matches but only one per-1986 one? They really blew it on this one.

Scrooge McSuck - September 18, 2005 09:10 PM (GMT)
Well, 1 is one of his very few WCW matches, and the other in SMW... random.

The 2 "Bible Thumping" WWF era matches though suck from a wrestling POV. However, I can understand the KOTR match as Jake was going for the underdog thing, and the Summerslam angle was based off his demons. If you cared about Jake's entire career, you'd appreciate it all.
