Title: Who Will Break the Masterlock?

Since I hate that stupid gimmick, I was curious who you all thought would be the first.

My Pick: Eugene

My Pick: Eugene

Not a bad pick considering Eugene ended Angle's Gold Medal Invitational, but I don't think the WWE will ever want to push Eugene that strongly again.

My pick: they held off on the Big Show feud for a reason, so Big Show can break it at a later date (perhaps WrestleMania?).

I hope they didn't hear me say that one...

No one did... you typed it. :P

Har har har :P

But you never know with the WWE, they do send spies out to various websites to make sure no one dares infringe their copyrights. One of them could report to Vince a website where some guy named Rowe thinks Big Show/Masters should happen at WrestleMania.

If that's the case, maybe SamoaRowe will break the Masterlock.

That's right, Vince. I know.

Scrooge McSuck - September 12, 2005 08:11 PM (GMT)
I could break the Mastercock.

That would be so great!

Next time WWE comes to Manchester, I'll have to cut a deal with them to do that.

On a side note, Booker T already broke the Masterlock. Just watch the battle royal on the WrestleMania 21 dvd.

And once Masters' push ends, every mid-carder on Raw will start breaking it :P

That's true. Personally, I'd like to see the GreatWhiteChavo (speaking of gimmicks that make me froth at the mouth) break it, and then maybe they could kill eachother.

With chairs.

You want everything to end with chairs.

In fact, you even went to class hoping that. You said the same thing about hall council and going to the dining hall. ...You even put it as your away message.

Oh, and no-one will ever break the MasterLock. EVER! They keep this up, I might actual buy into it. :P

OK - may be not.

SamoaRowe - September 12, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
Well, I hear a lot of complaining that the Masterlock is just a full nelson and is a weak finisher. However, when watching the challenge segments closely, just notice how much force Masters puts into the move, especially when he thrashes his challenger around like a rag doll. With his physique, the otherwise unworthy hold suddenly looks intimidating. The Masterlock challenge has added suspense since the challenger must sit down with his back facing Masters and allow this huge, chiseled man to lock on a move that he is known to use violently.

Basically, we've come to a point where Masters shines in his Masterlock challenges, but to be honest the only good matches I've seen him in are the ones where he gets his ass kicked for several minutes before making a brief comeback and locking in the Masterlock.

TheGreatWhiteChoate - September 13, 2005 03:28 AM (GMT)
That's one of the most disorienting things about the WWE: the new guys come out and kick ass but generally don't have great gimmicks yet (with a few notable exceptions), and then later on they get their asses kicked and have better gimmicks. Go figure.

SamoaRowe - September 13, 2005 03:30 AM (GMT)
Usually WWE will end a push right as I'm finally buying into a character or gimmick. Then I get annoyed that the depushed wrestler is being jobbed out on B shows.

I just can't win.

TheGreatWhiteChoate - September 13, 2005 03:34 AM (GMT)
No one wins with the WWE.

Scrooge McSuck - September 13, 2005 03:35 AM (GMT)
I'm liking Cade/Murdoch, so it's about time for them to be buried.

Yeah, the simple fact that I'm becoming a mark for them makes me think they'll job to Hurricane/Rosey at Unforgiven and then be given the Heart Throbs treatment.

Hopefully they'll get the MNM treatment though, and win the belts.

The really sad thing is that I was there in person when Hurricane and Rosey won the belts in May. I marked out at the time. Now I can't wait for them to lose the titles. It really isn't anything against either Hurricane or Rosey, it's that I had assumed that by winning the belts, they would be booked more strongly. Instead, they are the same jobbers they have been for years, only just pretending to be champions.

Scrooge McSuck - September 13, 2005 03:41 AM (GMT)
Gillberg was more of a champion than them. At least he won matches. :(

Gillberg should come back and break the Masterlock.

Scrooge McSuck - September 13, 2005 03:59 AM (GMT)
Damn I miss when WWE was actually entertaining on a consistant basis. Sure, it was a dumb parody, but Gill's facial expressions and mannurisms were funny. And remember his little hoedown at the 2nd Rock Concert? I nearly pissed myself from laughing so hard.
