Title: HHH coming back to RAW
Description: What does everyone think

TehDoct0r - September 8, 2005 04:33 PM (GMT)
I was just wondering, as it seems people have mixed reactions about Hunter coming back. I've heard rumors of him coming back as a face, which make no sense to me because A) He hasn't been over as a face since early DX, and B) Cena is a face champion. We all know he's going to fued with Cena, but if for some reason he didn't, what else do you think they'll have for him?

whitemilesdavis - September 8, 2005 04:37 PM (GMT)
I do think HHH is missed on the show, but I don't look forward to his 30 minute long promos.

prof_plague - September 8, 2005 04:37 PM (GMT)
He should do SmackDown duty and try to help salvage ratings for that sinking ship.

SamoaRowe - September 8, 2005 04:55 PM (GMT)
As long as he doesn't come back and promptly squash John Cena, Kurt Angle, Matt Hardy, and Edge and realizes that he was overexposed before he left... I'll be fine.

However, there is very little chance of that being the scenario.

TehDoct0r - September 8, 2005 05:12 PM (GMT)
All he's done for the past 3-4 years is squash guys or put over ex-Evolution members. So what does he do now, if that's not the case?

I think he's missed because they just put HBK right into the spot he was occupying. Plus I think the whole point of him was taking time off then making the shows suck so he always has an excuse to have the belt.

We all know Cena's eating a Pedigree and losing the title within a month of his return.

I'm on the fence. Raw has been kind of lacking and boring....but I really hate everything about Triple H. He is good in the ring, as much as it hurts me to say it, when he isn't wrestling turds like Batista.

I sure don't want him to wrestle Cena, even though I want the strap off Cena. ON ANGLE, hopefully. Not Triple H.

Next Mania will probably be HHH/HBK for the Title in the "seriously we're really really really really serious that this is the final confrontation."

Scrooge McSuck - September 8, 2005 11:00 PM (GMT)
I'm also on the fence. He can still deliver in the ring, but I just can't stand his long-winded promos about how he's going to "Beat someones ass." Is it me, or does that sound a bit gay?

Big F'N Swigg - September 8, 2005 11:04 PM (GMT)
I think he's pulling a Hogan right now. He'll return, the ratings will pop a bit, and he'll take credit for it.

Scrooge McSuck - September 8, 2005 11:07 PM (GMT)
But... wouldn't he be right, though, if his comeback popped ratings? Not long term ratings, but they still raised a bit for a brief period of time.

Michaels has been absolutely en fuego this year, and I really wouldn't mind him getting another run with the belt, but he and HHH shouldn't be in a fued. Now, them together might be kinda interesting after such a long time, but then nobody would ever beat them, and HBK would need to be a real heel for that to work.

It depends. Let's pretend it's the night after Unforgiven when HHH comes back. You could say it was HHH, but it could be that it's the night after a PPV.
It's all depending on when he comes back.

Scrooge McSuck - September 8, 2005 11:16 PM (GMT)
Night after PPV Raw's generally draw a good ratings, so I wouldn't credit anyone for that. However, if HHH Returned on one and the ratings weren't very impressive, I'm sure some fans will jump on it.

"HAHA! HHH can't draw!~!"

TehDoct0r - September 8, 2005 11:24 PM (GMT)
Well, I think it's been proven that if he's not working Rock or Austin, he can't. I don't know why people would bring that up now.

Scrooge McSuck - September 8, 2005 11:28 PM (GMT)
Triple H was doing pretty damn good business in 2000 (one of, if not the, best financial year for WWE), feuding with everyone possible. I'm sure he can draw, it's just he's grown stale on everyone. It happens to everyone in wrestling, even Hogan. :(

TehDoct0r - September 8, 2005 11:29 PM (GMT)
In 2000 he had Rock, and yes, he did decent. Then in 2001, he had Austin back.

Scrooge McSuck - September 8, 2005 11:31 PM (GMT)
And he had Foley, who was never a proven draw. And Jericho. And Angle. And Benoit. And Too Cool. And Rikishi. And The Brooklyn Brawler. And Kaientai.

HHH feuded with everyone imaginable for at least 2 weeks in 2000, and he did fucking good business.
