I hope WWE doesn't drag out this "Network" storyline. Fans were fucking sick and tired of the RTC after a week, and that went on for 10 months!
Mad Dog - August 31, 2005 04:15 PM (GMT)
Doesn't Smackdown get booted to Friday this month too?

Yep.

Next week (September 9th) to be exact.

Holy shit. That early huh?
Scrooge McSuck - August 31, 2005 04:52 PM (GMT)
Yup. This week is the final thursday night Smackdown, unless Todd Grisham fucked up on that sunday show and the graphic was wrong.
Yes, the fate of my comment lies in the hands of an idiot... bigger than I am. I'm 99.9999% sure though it's the 9th.
SamoaRowe - September 2, 2005 02:09 AM (GMT)
I have to say, there were a few really promising parts on Smackdown tonight.
The biggest was Ken Kennedy, who is rapidly growing on me. THIS is the type of guy they should be hiring and pushing, not Chris Masters or the Boogeyman.
The Regal/Birchill team clicked IMHO, and I marked for Regal's old music returning. Their match against Scotty and Funaki actually reminded me of the good old formula tag matches that Too Cool used to have every week on tv in 2000 and made me feel nostalgic.
The Orton/Rey match was pretty good.
The JBL/Batista and Rey/Eddie feuds are ending next week! Hurray!
dynamite kido - September 2, 2005 07:04 PM (GMT)
That's Mr. Kennedy Rowe.....................................Kennedy.
dynamite kido - September 3, 2005 02:22 PM (GMT)
How about this........
From Meltzer:

The 9/9 Smackdown show is scheduled to air from 9-10 p.m. due to the concert planned at 8 p.m. to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. It should be noted that benefit concerts notoriously go overtime, and many UPN stations have 10 p.m. newscasts.

Fuck you.
Love, UPN

P.S. We would've survived 1999 with or without you.
Scrooge McSuck - September 4, 2005 03:02 AM (GMT)
London v. Kendrick! Oh man, I missed Spankrick... but I didn't miss his incredibly bad theme music.
And what the hell is up with Londons jobber speedo tights? BLECH~!
Big F'N Swigg - September 4, 2005 05:21 PM (GMT)
It's official, London is on Vince's shit list. His whole character is now gone.
And is it me or does the commentary get worse when the wrestling gets better?
Scrooge McSuck - September 4, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
Not really, but you can tell a match really sucks when even the broadcast team is phoning it in.

Not always true. Through both the Spanky/London match AND the Super Crazy/Nunzio match Romero and Matthews were putting themselves over more than the match.
Scrooge McSuck - September 4, 2005 11:05 PM (GMT)
Those were cruiserweight matches and the commentary teams are often being fed what to say. Draw your own conclussion.
Big F'N Swigg - September 4, 2005 11:17 PM (GMT)
I know that, but it's still annoying.
Real F'n Show - September 5, 2005 03:19 PM (GMT)
I could care less if SSP and 450's are banned, those were two solid cruiser matches. I'm really liking the focus on psychology lately too, the London/Spanky match being a perfect example. London worked the arm the ENTIRE match, and Spanky sold to perfection. And with Noble coming back, I'm looking forward to some London/Noble/Spanky matches.
Scrooge McSuck - September 5, 2005 03:51 PM (GMT)
COULDN'T care less god dammit! Could care less means you actually care if it does get worse.
Good example: I couldn't care less what they do with the World Title.
Bad Example: I could care less what Triple H does.
Real F'n Show - September 5, 2005 08:25 PM (GMT)
It's easier to say when your talking then when your typing, I get away with that shit when I talk, but then YOU have to point out my mistype. Well, you know what I talk like in person now.
Scrooge McSuck - September 5, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
Sorry, but way too many people have done that in the last week (here and other places), not to mention the last 5-6 years I've posted on message boards. It's not anything personal, but every 1,000th time I read that , I have to mention it. Ditto for spelling someones name wrong, like "Henning" or "Hass".
Scrooge McSuck - September 9, 2005 01:38 AM (GMT)
Weird... I actually thought Smackdown was on tonight. Damn you, UPN! God damn you all to hell~!
Big F'N Swigg - September 19, 2005 10:17 PM (GMT)
Was it just me or was the LOD/MNM match actually really good Friday night? I'm really buying into Heidenreich's new attitude

Good to see someone is.
Big F'N Swigg - September 20, 2005 12:58 AM (GMT)
I was really surprised, myself. You can see how Animal has rubbed off on him. It's improved his in-ring work.
Which of course wouldn't take much, as I am talking about Heidenreich
Scrooge McSuck - September 20, 2005 01:00 AM (GMT)
Heidenreich was never THAT bad. People like you see a guy 6'10" and 330 lbs+, and you automatically think "he sucks."
For example: It took people a lot of time to realize how awesome Abyss was in TNA. When he first came around, I never heard anyone say anything positive about him.
Big F'N Swigg - September 20, 2005 01:20 AM (GMT)
Heidenreich has just had a hard time creating his character in the ring. He's got the character personality wise, and he just needed a moveset to match. He's now got both. And it's easier to get over his unique build when he's wearing shoulder pads

I don't mind Heidenrich, actually. I like him as a face, which surprised me. I just didn't think they'd take his character in this direction. (That and probably because I think the Tag titles should have stayed on MNM.)

Two things.
#1 - You've got to be kidding me. Heidenreich has been AWFUL since day one and continues to be awful. It has nothing to do with his size.
#2 - Also, Abyss is light years better than Heidenreich and has been better from the get go.
SamoaRowe - October 1, 2005 06:54 PM (GMT)
Well, I just watched a few of the Heat/Velocity matches on WWE.com. I'm saving Benoit/Regal for after work due to me wanting to be in a restful mood, but I watched London/Kendrick vs Nunzio/Vito and Parisi/Striker.
I actually enjoyed both quite a bit. I love how London is using a standing SSP now, I guess that's his way of sticking it to McMahon now that he cannot do it from the top rope. Also, they really sucked the crowd into the match as they were dead at the beginning but were really into it by the end.
Striker/Parisi was fun, as Parisi pretty much destroyed one of Striker's leg's throughout and then Striker won with a sunset flip. I had read a spoiler that said Parisi had won, so I had a bit of a surprise mark-out moment.
Scrooge McSuck - October 1, 2005 07:00 PM (GMT)
Don't trust spoilers when the person sending them types english with the intelligence of a lobotimized gorilla.
Big F'N Swigg - October 1, 2005 09:14 PM (GMT)
So when you write spoilers, Scrooge, what are we supposed to do?
Scrooge McSuck - October 1, 2005 09:23 PM (GMT)
I don't, fuck face. Right now I don't want to hear anyones shit, because I'm in excrutiating pain from accidentally using a breath spray in my eye...
Let the blind jokes begin!
Real F'n Show - October 1, 2005 11:42 PM (GMT)
That's what happens when you're unemployed and have nothing better to do then play with a breath spray...
Sorry, but I had to go THERE, instead of the blind joke, which involved you getting a cumshot in the eye. I hope you understand.
Scrooge McSuck - October 2, 2005 12:29 AM (GMT)
It's no ones business about my employment. For all you know, I could be a drug dealer.

If you were a drug dealer, you'd be posting from prison right now
