Because it's one in the AM and I still have an hour of DLing to go, and I have a meeting with my boss tomorrow. But whatever. Anyway, is there anything I should know going into this match? On a psudo-related note, how exactly do they treat "storylines" and "angles" in Japan (at the time, at least) anyway?

I'm not DK, but go into the match with an open mindset, thinking "this could be really good" as opposed to "this better be good or I'll be mad", or you'll most likely be disappointed.
Look for a story IN the match, there's a good one here.
Also, I don't know the backstory, but DK probably does.

If the match you mean is the Kobashi/Jumbo one...........
I'll give you the short story for this one. During the time this match happened there was a uprising of sorts in All Japan of the "Young" talent. Those guys were basically Misawa/Kobashi/Taue/Kawada and Jumbo was the "Ace" of All Japan. He fought in several series of matches against the younger guard and this is one vs Kobashi.
