Title: Brock not welcome back
Description: He sure ain't Mr. Kotter...

Scrooge McSuck - December 18, 2004 04:28 PM (GMT)
Word is that Brock Lesnar recently contacted WWE regarding a return to the company. WWE, however, seems to have no interest in bringing him back, feeling that he walked out on the company when he left earlier in the year. WWE has gone as far as to apparently tell Triple H to make it clear that WWE does not want Brock Lesnar back in the mainstream interviews he does.

I won't argue he's a very good athlete, but he broke the trust VInce McMahon had in him by leaving on short notice, thus screwing over Smackdown Main Event plans for several months (he was scheduled for a feud with the returning Deadman Undertaker), and leaving Smackdown without a top main event heel other than Mr. Cripple, Kurt Angle, who didn't wrestle another match until August.

This is total bullshit. They'd take him back in a minute. I wouldn't count on them throwing millions his way this time.........but, if they are hurting (and they are...at least for main event talent)....he'll be back.

Scrooge McSuck - December 19, 2004 02:46 AM (GMT)
He'll come back... begging most likely, and for a contract that's not even close to what he's making. I'm sure a humiliation angle isn't out of the question either. Such people Vince had forgiven lately like Hogan had to be Mr. America, although later down the line, and Sable, who had the lesbian angle with Torrie. Roddy Piper having the massive gut and looking like a duck I think was enough humilation.

Of course they'll take him back, but they're gonna make him squirm a bit first.

That DOES seem to be Vince's style........so I wouldn't doubt that at all.

Out of curiousity........what is the over/under on how long it'll take before he's back?

what do you guys think.....

Scrooge McSuck - December 19, 2004 07:40 PM (GMT)
I doubt he'll be back anytime soon unless he comes crawling on his knees to Vince's office, but if I had to guess... by June of 2005. I'd rather him not come back at all unless he's owned by McMahon, seeing as how he packed up and left suddenly once already. What makes anyone think he won't do it again?

dynamite kido - December 19, 2004 07:42 PM (GMT)
Well, he wanted to give his dream a try. Also, I believe that most people deserve a second chance.......why is this any different than the chances that Austin, Hogan, Hall/Nash, etc. have gotten?

Because it's Brock.

All the others weren't groomed into to the Main Event from the moment they were signed.

Scrooge McSuck - December 19, 2004 08:00 PM (GMT)
Nash and Hall had expiring contracts. Hogan was pushed out of the company basically (in 1993). If you meanHogan in 2002-2003, he had no contract, so really, he didn't have to show up for any of the jobs he did.

Austin is no different. He walked out when he was really the only top star RAW had, thanks to Smackdown being given all the big babyfaces, and Kane (the #2 face) being out with an injury for 5 months. Most fans (marks) don't really care because he's Austin.

If we're doing a pool here, I'll take the "day after WrestleMania" block.

Yes, but Hogan's push came as a result of his presence in Rocky 3. If it wasn't for that, he may not have gotten McMahon's attention as easily. Remember that his mega-push came during his SECOND run in NYC.

He would have gotten the chance anyway Swigg. He was already a star for Verne in AWA. He would have been systematically purged from the territory anyway.....he was basically what Vince was looking for.

Scrooge McSuck - December 20, 2004 06:56 AM (GMT)
Oh, the Hogan comment was about his push the moment he came back to WWF in the end of '83. Well, he WAS the most over person in the United States. Brock, if everyone recalls, couldn't buy heat until Summerslam 2002 when everyone pissed all over The Rock leaving. It wasn't until his program with Big Show where the crowd REALLY cared about the guy.

TehDoct0r - December 24, 2004 10:27 PM (GMT)
I'm in the group that thinks Vince is just making him feel like an asshole first before signing him back to a less expensive contract. But I certainly hope Brock doesn't get offended and stay away forever. Because if he doesn't go back to WWE, he can't compete until March. TNA might be gone by then, and I doubt Indys can afford him. What does everyone think of Brock in Japan?

Mad Dog - December 29, 2004 06:32 AM (GMT)
Maybe they'll make him wear a dragon head dress and blow fire before every match.

Big F'N Swigg - December 29, 2004 02:47 PM (GMT)
Brock "The Dragon" Steamboat....

Sounds like a Pritchard's idea

Mad Dog - December 29, 2004 02:59 PM (GMT)
Or we could get Brock "the Dumpster" Drose

Scrooge McSuck - December 29, 2004 03:04 PM (GMT)
They could always slap a mask on him and call Brock "Who", then pretend they have no idea who it is despite the giant ass tattoo on his back.

Paul London already has "The Dragon" reserved as a nickname, since he kinda looks like a young Ricky Steamboat... minus the beard.

TehDoct0r - December 29, 2004 10:31 PM (GMT)
Wasn't that Jim Neidhart the first time around?

Scrooge McSuck - December 29, 2004 11:18 PM (GMT)
Yup... what a horrible idea that was.

TehDoct0r - December 29, 2004 11:22 PM (GMT)
I love Neidhart though. Is that a bad thing?

Scrooge McSuck - December 29, 2004 11:24 PM (GMT)
Not really... unless you like him for his singles career from 1994. (retches)

You like FUNAKI?!?!?!

Oh wait, so do I.....

Scrooge McSuck - December 30, 2004 03:16 PM (GMT)
Who doesn't like Funaki? He's #1 Smackdown Announcer (although he's an Interviewer)

TehDoct0r - December 30, 2004 05:09 PM (GMT)
Yea, everyone loves Funaki. That's not a guilty pleasure.

Mad Dog - December 30, 2004 05:24 PM (GMT)
I'm indifferent towards Funaki for the most part. He's boring in the ring and is totally forgettable except for being Smackdown's No.1 Announcer and the dubbing gimmick from a few years ago.

Scrooge McSuck - December 30, 2004 05:28 PM (GMT)
(mouth moves with no audio) INDEED!

Mad Dog - December 30, 2004 05:33 PM (GMT)
Too bad that was a rip off of La Parka in WCW.

TehDoct0r - December 30, 2004 07:10 PM (GMT)
Except La Parka wasn't EVIL!

Mad Dog - December 30, 2004 09:23 PM (GMT)
Yeah, La Parka also seemed to be more afraid of it than anything else.

Back on topic here....I'll say that I'd love for Brock to come back to WWE. Vince SHOULD sign him to a lower priced contract, and Brock should have to pay his dues before he gets to the top this time. However, I don't know if Brock would go for that. He's a proud guy. I don't think there was anything wrong with how Brock left. He did give notice and he didn't just up and quit. Lots of people say that he betrayed wrestling, but hey, he didn't pull a Stone Cold and just leave out of nowhere. At least Brock gave notice. SmackDown has lacked something since Brock left. IF Brock were to come back, he'd have to deal with the hell that the guys will give him, and they can make it in to a perfect storyline because he'd be a natural heel and he'll generate plenty of heat from his leaving.

TehDoct0r - January 3, 2005 04:14 PM (GMT)
Bottom line, Brock is the best thing they've created since Angle, and he needs to be there. The guy is an absolutely awesome talent, and he is a huge assest to the company. You want him to pay his dues? Fine. But the man is going to end up back in the main event in under a year anyway.
