Title: Gas prices make me want to strangle someone

dynamite kido - August 14, 2005 05:12 PM (GMT)
So.......what are you guys paying for gasoline these days?

Last time I filled up they were up to $2.46 a gallon.

Scrooge McSuck - August 14, 2005 05:34 PM (GMT)
$0.00. I live within 1 mile of everything I need, and being unemployed, I wouldn't be able to afford being ass-raped with insurance cost anyway.

Real F'n Show - August 14, 2005 05:54 PM (GMT)
$2.46?!?!

I thought $2.25 was bad, but you have earned my respect, DK.

S.T. Strickler - August 14, 2005 10:05 PM (GMT)
Between $2.35-$2.45 where I live.

prof_plague - August 15, 2005 05:30 AM (GMT)
Depending on where you went, it was somewhere around $2.35 less than a week ago. ...It's more like $2.57 now. Yeah, that's right. It jumped about a quarter in two days.

Big F'N Swigg - August 15, 2005 02:40 PM (GMT)
$2.55 across the street

whitemilesdavis - August 15, 2005 03:09 PM (GMT)
$2.59 this morning. Who can we bomb to get this changed?

Ummmmmmmmm.......I say.............Ubekistan?

whitemilesdavis - August 15, 2005 03:18 PM (GMT)
I really don't care who, but I say we get on it pronto. I hear Venezuala has a huge oil reserve, plus it is home to an ex of mine who decided to get ultra-hot AFTER we broke up. I like to think she had to move to a foreign country to get over me.

Mad Dog - August 15, 2005 03:28 PM (GMT)
We could save the bombs. A little Alaska drilling will fix it.

whitemilesdavis - August 15, 2005 03:33 PM (GMT)
Couldn't we still bomb someone though?

Mad Dog - August 15, 2005 03:38 PM (GMT)
We could bomb the hippies that would protest the Alaska drilling.

whitemilesdavis - August 15, 2005 03:39 PM (GMT)
Sounds good to me. Could we send them to Venezuela and bomb them there?

Mad Dog - August 15, 2005 03:39 PM (GMT)
Sure.

dynamite kido - August 15, 2005 03:40 PM (GMT)
You dated a Venezualan chick...........I bow to your greatness.

To be honest though, she was about a 6-1/2 when I dated her. I thought it was cool for the exotic flavor. We broke up, she moved back to Venezuela. I saw her about a year later, and she was a legit 10.

Did you take a picture? At least you could tell people "Hey, I used to date this chick."

whitemilesdavis - August 15, 2005 04:01 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I took a picture. The big stinger was a friend of mine did the deed with her on her little visit. It didn't piss me off or anyhting as the relationship was completely over. But, he held it over my head for two or three years that he got with her AFTER she got hot. He said it was glorious.

The past couple of times I filled up, it was 2.29 a gallon, but I've been lucky. Most of the places I drive by advertise around 2.35.

$2.69 across the street.

And actually, we export more oil than we import. I can't provide proof without a lot of research, but I know that's true.

whitemilesdavis - August 17, 2005 12:22 PM (GMT)
The problem though is 80% of the oil we use is imported. Don't ask me why, but that's how it works.

Mad Dog - August 17, 2005 02:16 PM (GMT)
Enivornmental groups have made it really hard to do any kind of business as far as oil goes in the U.S. They sue everytime a company tries to build a new refinery or start a new rig. And no one's willing to deal with them.

If the government just put their foot down and started drilling on all the deeds owned and built refineries tomorrow the problem would be solved.

dynamite kido - August 17, 2005 08:30 PM (GMT)
Since I last noted how much gas was where I live........

it's up to $2.56 a fucking gallon.

God damn fucking jagoffs......

Thanks to Hurricane Katrina, some places in Atlanta are charging nearly $6.00 a gallon for gas.

And I thought the 2.88 around here was dreadful.

It's a shame we can't all just boycott gas, since most of us drive and pretty much have no choice to. I would love it if I could ride my bike to work, but in reality, I'm just too damn lazy to wake up a couple hours early and such.

Actually the Atlanta press is almost solely to blame for those prices. They caused a panic and that drove the prices up.

I don't boycott gas... well, I do since I used to pay gas money when driving around with friends, and $20-25 here and there still hurts when you're going around looking for a good time or traveling 30 miles out of town to go to the nearest mall. Mainly I just boycott getting ass-raped with insurance charges because I'm under 25.

I'vwe only been back to college for little over a week now and it's gone-up over 15 cents since then.

Good thing you won't be driving as much since you're back there. Myself, on the other hand, am a stupid commuter student and I go back next week.

eStragand - September 1, 2005 05:10 PM (GMT)
...and in case you haven't heard them, here are YOUR cliched "Money saving gas tips from your local newscast"!!!

Check your tire pressure. Consider your driving habits. Reduce idle-ing. Check your air fitler. Don't top off. Fill up in the morning.

Blah.. McFrickin blah blah... They're forgetting "replace your windshield wipers", though!

Big F'N Swigg - September 2, 2005 12:02 AM (GMT)
Someone complained to me at work today that three dollars a gallon was "too damn much" and started blaming the president.

Now, I don't like Bush, but something tells me a Hurricane that wiped out New Orleans, and most of the Gulf of Mexico is not his fault.

S.T. Strickler - September 2, 2005 01:59 AM (GMT)
Gas in now $3.19 in my area, and I heard it's gonna increase tomorrow.. A couple people at work think there's gonna be another depression, which I seriously doubt.
