Title: Vince tells cruiserweights to "tone it down."
Description: Booooo!

The following story has been reported by a bunch of places.
Vince McMahon has sent word down through WWE that he wants cruiserweights to tone down several risky high flying moves, unofficially banning maneuvers such as the 450 splash and the shooting star press.
Apparently the number of injuries has caused McMahon to decide that high flying risky maneuvers are simply not worth it. The unofficial ban actually went into effect around two weeks ago and when Paul London used the shooting star press against Nunzio on a recent edition of Velocity, he was told by company officials not to use it again and to come up with a different finisher.
London along with other WWE cruiserweights are upset about having to tone down their style. Many in the industry are comparing this unofficial ban to the ban of the tombstone piledriver where WWE officials only let the Undertaker and Kane use it in dramatic situations.

Well, that fucking sucks.

Too bad this doesn't fit into reality at all. Green hosses and guys wrestling the low risk style are the ones suffering most of the injuries not the cruisers. If he'd stop demanding every guy to look like a bodybuilder and not make his wrestlers travel non-stop the injuries would decrease.
Funny how TNA lets their guys go balls out in the X Division and they seem to not get hurt very much.

Look at the Boogeyman. The guy (a 6'7" loser) hyperextended BOTH KNEES in a squash against Steven Richards during a HS in Vermont.

I felt bad that I laughed about the Boogeyman.

I didn't... I heard he injured Steven Richards in the same match (or maybe it was another).

...Steven Richards always gets injured, and he's one of the guys who shouldn't risk being injured.

He's also...well, old.

Old and, as of now, talentless. Rumors are he was completely lost in the ring (and already being called up), which really doesn't help anyone, and doesn't protect the safety of the other guy in the ring with him.

I thought they were already "toned down"?
The Last Free Voice - August 5, 2005 04:51 PM (GMT)
Well, in this case "toned down' means assfucked.

Actually in this case it means...........do nothing.
Scrooge McSuck - August 5, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
The CW's have already been toned down. There's nothing left to tone, unless they develope a new way of fighting without using your hands.

The only way to make the matches completely safe is to ban all top rope manuevers. It should also be against the rules to toss your opponent over the top rope. They should then hold all matches in a secured environment.

And no mats on the floor, those mats are for pussies. Then people can log into WWE.com to vote for if they like the changes.

What ES described sounds almost like what happend with AWA during it's terminal cancer days. Ugh... I still have nightmares of the bright pink room. Damn you, ESPN!
