Title: Some type of competition for the entire board

Real F'n Show - August 4, 2005 10:51 PM (GMT)
Yeah I brought this up in another thread, a Fantasy Booking type competition for everyone to be involved with, but I'm running short of an idea on what we could do.

Suggestions? (I'm looking at you Ernie...)

How about we all contribute a match for a super-card and then each of us have to write up our own version of the show? Then we can discuss who has the best show.

It's a thought, I do like the idea of a competition.

How about compiling a bunch of names through wrestling today, like anyone you can think of which results in a couple of hundred people, then everyone drafts their roster. First bunch of rounds are 1 pick each, until we get to the losers, then 5 picks per Round. From there... back to Rowe!

Similar to Rowe's idea, I'd let everyone take a hack at one super-card and see the differences that result. Every month/week, pick one time period and its supercard. Sort of "How would YOU have booked In Your House: Beware of Dog?!". You can use anybody who was on the active roster at that point in time (in other words, you can't have DUSTY RHODES or some midgets do a surprise run-in. Which will probably fuck over MY booking plans!) That way, everybody has the same sandbox to play in and nobody can whine about getting screwed in a selection draft.

I like that idea....

<---obviously going to book a show as horrible as humanly possible, just so it can reflect on how the real WWF was at the time (unless it was a good show to begin with)

I was thinking Ernie could do a write up for the site every week, highlighting the best of the weeks fantasy action.

That could work, also.

BTW, how's the site coming?

(good ideas from everyone so far, as far as this competition goes)

The idea of writing up play-by-play for an entire show seems taxing, but how bout a dream-match kind of thing. We construct a kickass matchup, and everyone does their own write-up of it. Should probably keep it real, as in, either current v current, or something old school, but don't mix generations, fantasy wise. I dunno.

You mean we all write a different match, or the same one? Could be interesting...

Anyway, if worst comes to worst, we could always just do our own version of WWE's game, except with TNA and indies, if we wanted. Everyone picks wrestlers and then you get points by how your wrestlers do on TV in there matches. Say 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw/DQ/crappy finish, and 0 for a loss or something...

Sounds like.... the Team Challenge Series of AWA~! I got dibs on the Turkey Hunt match!

I'm game - but it'll have to be set up well.

And I might need someone to send me a new version of EWR - Because I've been fiddling with the file editor

With the DWB NWA game going, I'm going to unpin this. Feel free to make more suggestions.
