Real F'n Show - July 4, 2005 07:16 PM (GMT)
MEXICOOOOOOLS

jamiegeist - July 4, 2005 09:10 PM (GMT)
THE JUICE!

Scrooge McSuck - July 8, 2005 12:08 AM (GMT)
Steven Richards getting mic time... unbelievable!

Mad Dog - July 8, 2005 01:24 AM (GMT)
I give up. This Smackdown is boring me to tears. We get it........ Guerrero knows a secret about Mysterio. You don't need 3 drawn out segments saying the same thing.

I have to give the WWF credit though. They've made me hate a Guerrero/Mysterio feud.

Mad Dog - July 8, 2005 03:50 AM (GMT)
Wow, you would think they would've turfed that whole Hassan shit on the day of a terrorist attack.

SamoaRowe - July 8, 2005 04:59 AM (GMT)
Smackdown was pretty boring tonight, even for me. The Mexicools need some better catchphrases and the bWo stuff made the night worthwhile for me (could have done without such classic punchlines including "Blue Wheat" "Bashme" and "John Blue Layfield").

Scrooge McSuck - July 8, 2005 08:24 AM (GMT)
I actually like the Eddie/Rey feud. For those who said Eddie wouldn't get over as a heel can choke on the chorus of boos he gets every week.

Two things.

Everyone knew Eddie would get over as heel.

The boos are canned heat.

Scrooge McSuck - July 8, 2005 01:36 PM (GMT)
However, from the looks of things, the people aren't cheering... and why is it canned heat all of a sudden? I guess I could use the same explanation for everyone on Smackdown, couldn't I?

If you want to see if people are over or not, the only REAL way you can tell is by going to an event or watching a live PPV.

whitemilesdavis - July 8, 2005 02:18 PM (GMT)
Why didn't they can some heat for the Mexicools?

Easy..........their cruiserweights. They don't need to be over.......

whitemilesdavis - July 8, 2005 02:22 PM (GMT)
Maybe they could can them some muscles then.

Scrooge McSuck - July 8, 2005 04:27 PM (GMT)
Since I haven't been to a live event in 5 years, what heels on Smackdown are over without the use of production techniques.

whitemilesdavis - July 8, 2005 04:48 PM (GMT)
I would start with Eddie, regardless of said production techniquies. He's over as a heel. Period.

whitemilesdavis - July 8, 2005 05:04 PM (GMT)
By the way, am I the only one who liked this show?

The last time I went to a live Smackdown event (January) I could tell you that JBL, Eddie, Rey, RVD, and Big Show were all very over. Undertaker didn't get the type of cheers I was expecting, and Booker T was also more over than he gets credit for.

All signs point to yes.

Scrooge McSuck - July 8, 2005 06:13 PM (GMT)
I finally watched Daivari/Undertaker...

Ladies and Gentleman, we have a New Champion for the Most Tasteless Angle Ever, surpassing even Triple H raping a "dead body" while wearing a Kane mask.

Also nice to see WWE fire 40 people, and still be able to have those 2 guys who played dicks in TNA. Yes, I can tell 2 of the masked men were them, judging by their stocky build resembling "The Johnsons" to the last detail.

Mad Dog - July 8, 2005 06:14 PM (GMT)
I still think the Lita rape thing is worse than this. Saba Simba might be worse too.

whitemilesdavis - July 8, 2005 06:17 PM (GMT)
Ahh, the Shanes are a decent team, but it looks like they've been saddled with another bad gimmick. This comes nowhere close to Katie Vick though. I really don't get all the righteous indignation. This type of angle is nothing new at all in professional wrestling.

Scrooge McSuck - July 8, 2005 06:18 PM (GMT)
The Lita/Kane angle was good for comedy, and Saba Simba was in a time where Vince McMahon was milking the Gulf War through Sgt. Slaughter. I find the latter to be much worse than a black guy dancing around like an african tribesman, otherwise Tatanka would be offensive too.

SamoaRowe - July 8, 2005 06:22 PM (GMT)
I wasn't offended by the Hassan angle last night. It would have been offensive if Hassan were to portray himself as a terrorist instead of just an angry Arab-American. Besides, all they did was gang up and destroy the Undertaker.

Granted, I understand how some might others may have been offended, but it just didn't phase me.

To a native American he probably is.

Scrooge McSuck - July 8, 2005 06:29 PM (GMT)
If 5 hooded guys assisting 2 arabs in a "sacrifice" and carrying 1 of them away like Jesus isn't offensive, I don't know what is.

That hasn't been mentioned yet.

Mad Dog - July 8, 2005 06:31 PM (GMT)
I'm not offended by the angle. I'm offended that no one took a step back and decide it was a bad idea.

Saba Simba by itself isn't offensive but it is offensive when you take into account McMahon's horrible track record with black wrestlers.

Hanging a bald, foul-mouthed beer drinker on a cross?

Mad Dog - July 8, 2005 06:34 PM (GMT)
That's about 5th or 6th on the list. Maybe 7th if you take into account having a convicted woman beater giving a Stunner to a woman that doesn't like beer.

Scrooge McSuck - July 8, 2005 06:35 PM (GMT)
It was a symbol (;)), and I forgot about that one. Well, until now. (grumbls)

And JR saying, " Well, that's Stone Cold."

Scrooge McSuck - July 8, 2005 06:38 PM (GMT)
 Oh come on, that's not the first time a babyface beat up a woman for no reason. (thinks) Hulk Hogan beat up Sensational Sherri back in 1989 I think.

Mad Dog - July 8, 2005 06:44 PM (GMT)
Here's my top 10:

1. Lita rape angle. You NEVER TURN A RAPIST FACE

2. Katie Vick

3. The whole thing from last night

4. Saba Simba. It's just a perfect example of how the WWF handles black wrestlers.

5. Austin/Pillman gun

6. Austin stunning Kiebler

7. crucifying Austin

8. HHH's "your people" line and then winning the match.

9. Trish's dog stuff around X-7

10. The incest undertones with Vince/Steph over the years.

Honorable mentions: Chavo's recent denouncing his heritage, the Mexicools, the Satanic ritual on Mideon, McMahon drugging Linda, Michaels picking his nose with the Canadian flag, passing Chyna off as a woman

Scrooge McSuck - July 8, 2005 06:45 PM (GMT)
Michaels humping the Canadian flag can be added to that. And stuffing it in his pants.

whitemilesdavis - July 8, 2005 06:47 PM (GMT)
I'm a sick mutha. None of it offends me.

Scrooge McSuck - July 8, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
The only things listed that bothered me was the Triple H/Kane Necrophillia angle and the shit from last night. The rest was either really lame or just stupid, but not bad enough to make me want to stop watching WWE.

whitemilesdavis - July 8, 2005 06:51 PM (GMT)
Katie Vick did make me turn the channel. I actually liked the stuff last night. I was hoping they'd kill Undertaker. Then again, he's already dead.

Mad Dog - July 8, 2005 06:53 PM (GMT)
It didn't get me to stop watching either but it's very much what were they thinking. Anyone with any sense should've axed these things before they ever hit the air and none of those had a place in a wrestling company.

That's the way people are carried to rest after they die in certain cultures. It had nothing to do with jesus.

It doesn't offend me either, but that doesn't mean at all that it has a place in wrestling whatsoever.

whitemilesdavis - July 8, 2005 07:33 PM (GMT)
In the modern day of "smart" fans, I often wonder how a wrestler is supposed to get heat.
