Title: Goonies & Wrestling
Description: A weird experience

Didn't know if this belongs in general wrestling or movies, but I went with here. So I'm enjoying a quiet evening at home with the wife, and we decide to pop in "The Goonies" DVD that I got a few months ago in a bulk Columbia House order.

Anyway, we check out the special features, and decide to watch the music video, Cyndi Lauper's "The Goonies R Good Enough For Me" or something, fuck if I know what the song is really called.

The video starts out with Cyndi's annoying ass sitting in a house, and then Captain Lou Albano walks in. Nothing too strange, thanks to her previous video experience and all. Well, things get at least a liiittle weirder as Wendi Richter also walks in. All hell breaks loose then. The story has something to do with like the Goonies, some creditors coming to take over Cyndi's family's gas station. So the creditors show up:

Roddy Piper driving, with Freddie Blassie and the Iron Sheik in the back seat. They jump out and start miming retarded things, while another truck pulls up. This one has Fabulous Moolah driving, and Nikolai Fucking Volkoff sitting in the bed of the truck milking a cow. Needless to say, my jaw is on the floor, and I'm wondering if I'm high as a motherfucker.

So it is like a 2 part video, the 2nd half of which has all the kids from the Goonies, Cyndi Lauper, and Richter, Piper, Blassie, Sheik, Volkoff, Moolah, and Albano all dancing around like idiots on a pirate ship.

Thankfully it comes to a close, but not before Cyndi like, points to the air, at which point I'm wondering what else could possibly happen, but Andre the Giant appears from a cloud of smoke, wearing kind of a Causer-esque armor thing, and cleans house on the heels, and then dances around with Cyndi Lauper to end it.

And thats a weird fucking experience, that I didnt expect at all. Anyone else seen this shitfest?

Oh come on, it wasn't that bad. Cheesy? Hell yes, it was 1985 for christs sake, but still kinda fun on a funky, whacky, out of this world way... and the song was pretty cool, and I occasionally get it stuck in my head.

But cmon! If you were just innocently watching some 80's movie, and checking out the bonus features, and Nikolai Volkoff showed up on your TV milking a cow, you wouldn't at least be caught off guard?

Yes I would... and the cow was made out of plastic! I'm wondering what the hell he was milking from it, cause it ain't milk!

I've seen it, and it's fucking sweet. I remembered the actual video from years ago when I saw it, but I must say that I was SHOCKED that they actually put it on the DVD though.

I must get this DVD just for that.

I think there's also an "unofficial Piper/Goonies Cross-over" in the first Wreslting Album. Piper hi-jacks the studio and goes into motormouth Hot Rod mode. In mid-rant, he says something like "you can take the Goonies..stick the Goonies up your nose.."

Jay and Silent Bob also did a recap of the Cyndi Lauper video on an MTV special, sometime in 1999. Wasn't anything too funny, but I remember Bob saying "dude, this video is what the eighties was all about: big movies, pop music...and WRESTLING".

I was thinking the exact same thing. I haven't seen the movie from beginning to end yet either (blocks ears as everyone shouts in confusion on why I've never seen such a classic that they all grew up with).

No problem. I actually hadn't seen the movie in its entirety or unedited (Goddam USA Network) either until this little experience.
